All Settled in for Two Weeks, Time for Christmas!

Location: Pilot Knob RV Resort, California

It is Monday, Dec. 19 and that just seems unreal, so close to Christmas and yet it feels like October. Sunday we pulled up stakes out of Hot Springs LTVA and headed back east on Hwy #8 to our membership park.

Lots of sand blowing across the highway
If you look closely, you'll see a boondocker out there
Off Olgilby Road

I got a really nice first impression of the place, it feels real homey to me! Large dining area for the upcoming Christmas dinner, book exchange and even a library. I'm hoping also to get into the hot tub one day.

We arrived around 1:30 pm, well wait a minute, their office clock says 12:30 with a sign below it saying “We are on Arizona Time”. Yes, still in California so I won’t even try to figure that out. Anyway, for our Ontario readers, still just 2 hours earlier than you folks.

The sun was gorgeous again with a north westerly wind that kept things coolish around 65F. Still very nice temperatures. Once we pulled in to our site, we noticed that we were right beside Rob and Pat from Durham, Ontario. Howdy neighbor takes on a whole new meaning when even back home we are just 10 minutes apart. The world gets smaller still.

George, Suzie, Melinda and Gerry are just across the drive so we have a real nice gathering of Rock Glen folks all together.
It just so happened to be the day the park had an ice cream social at 2 pm so we all went up for a scoop or two. Of course, I had chocolate with nuts, because some things never change.

Facing the sun the way I like it, we hosted the Happy Hour today.
Sitting around together felt really nice and familiar, bring your chairs, your drinks and your humour. And really, Gerry, we are glad you have broad shoulders. J

It was an easy dinner, Bill barbecued some sausage and he had his on a bun while I just cut mine up in my salad. It was good and filled me up. We put the fireplace on since we now have power and a hot chocolate took the nip out of the evening for us.
Bill loves the same Christmas movies over and over and I tire of them easily, so that is the bonus with 2 tvs. I enjoyed a nature program for an hour with Clemson while we snuggled in bed.

Today we were up at 7 to the sounds of a very strong wind out there.
This morning's sunrise
Looks like 19 mph with gusts to 29 but full sun so another bonus. I plan to do a good cleaning and then pull out the decorations. It feels good to know we are sitting still for a little while. My fingers are also itching to do some baking so I’ll keep you informed of that progress too.

Take care and thank you for following along with me. I enjoy receiving your comments so keep them coming!

A little correction. We are two hours behind what it is back home. Ten o'clock here, Twelve o'clock there.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

    1. Sorry Rick, I guess I just wrote it incorrectly. To me, 'earlier' in time was the same as 'behind'. Woops! :)

  3. Glad you are settling for a longer stay over Christmas. I think I'd enjoy that much more than the in and out, pack up and leave side of RVing. We're just home bodies I guess, some would say boring but hey we're happy! Have fun baking sis.

    1. thanks, we are happy to sit still for a while too. It takes a while to get used to.............not having to skimp on water and hydro. :) We can't all be the same, sis, or the world would be boring!
