Weather Girl off Track AGAIN, Laundry

I slept in on Tuesday, May 16th until at least 7 o’clock. I moved when Bill and Clemson got up but thought they’d come back to bed. Well, where was that early morning sunshine we were promised last night? The clouds ruled the sky all morning.

After my tea and reading posts, I sorted the laundry. Bill was getting ready to drive to Harriston Ford this morning, he had an appointment at 11. When he left, I drove to Durham to do wash. I was hoping to hang my clothes on the line but at 12 noon there was no relief of cloud cover.
Using the dryer was a good idea today
So, the bonus of that is that our laundry was completely done and put away by noonish.  Bill texted at 1 that he was on his way home so we can enjoy the afternoon together, albeit inside the Suite. At least if it rains, my garden will get a boost. I have a few dug Oregano plants from Donna to plant and a red maple from George and Suzie to pot so need to get those done today or tomorrow.
Oregano will be greenery around the garden edge even if I don't use it
I also picked up a packet of Forget-Me-Not seeds from the Alzheimer’s Walk that I want to sprinkle-plant up on the hill where I first wanted my garden. It is rocky and very uneven so hard to cut the grass. These will do well up there and I can let them spread as much as they want and we can ignore the grass.
The red maple in the bag and needs to be planted tomorrow
and the packet of seeds, anytime
I’m not sure if it is the weather that is getting to me, but after half day of little chores, I feel dragged out. I hope I’m not catching anything, that would be highly unusual for this stubborn gal. I refuse to get sick. Ha ha. This too shall pass, I’m sure. I’ve started another Lee Child book, 61 Hours, about Jack Reacher so I think I’ll settle into a chair and see where it takes me.
Sitting outside reading while supper was cooking
I was hooked on that book within the first 3 or 4 pages but now there is no turning back. I love getting lost in the detective stories, trying to guess how the ‘who dunnit’ pans out. I read for a while and even closed my eyes for a bit too. Bill was doing the same in his recliner and so was Clemson.

The wind was really batting our flag around outside, this time from the south but at least the temperature was climbing. I took a walk to the Restroom and decided to carry on down the lane at 5:30. When I came back we were both hungry so I lit the Weber Q to bbq our pork sausages.

It was a planned supper, as sometimes we neglect to do that, as I needed to be able to send a meal with Bill tomorrow. Yes, he was called in to work for Wednesday and Thursday so will head out early. We are getting better at the routine of packing his bag and cooler and forgetting less each trip.
these sausages don't look like much, but they are very tasty
After dinner and dishes, Bill hopped in the shower and I sat with Clemson after finishing this post. Tonight, is our television night, NCIS, Bull, NCIS New Orleans, the Voice and now Genius. Without a doubt there will be something recorded on our pvr.
This hasn’t been a busy day but it has been a good day. I felt a burst of energy with the sun out so perhaps the dull day was getting me down earlier. I took a walk down the lane and down the road to the Baptist Church Road corner.
I'll have to use my zoom lens to get a picture of the calves across in the field
The turtles make me laugh. There can be as many as 5 or 6 gathered in a row on the log and as I walk close, they take their leave, one at a time slipping off into the pond. So cute!
This one was brave enough to stay on the log while I walked by
I’m sure you have enjoyed the afternoon sun as much as I have. Some of you may have been under sunny skies all day, lucky you!

Thank you for reading my post today. I love reading your comments.

  1. The sun makes everything better. Our sunshine began at 1 pm right on schedule and got quite hot here beside our coach and out of the breeze. Tomorrow promises to be much better, so we will be outside all day soaking up the vitamin D again. Hope you get lots too. At least you got laundry done and started another good book.

    1. CTV weather said early sun, then clouds then more sun. The weather network on line is more accurate. It wasn't hot here but warmed up around 4 pm. I enjoyed my late afternoon walk.

  3. Why don't you try

I've found their forecasts to be substantially more accurate then environment canada's.

    1. I'll have to check that out. We usually watch CTV news but where they are right about London, they aren't always correct about mid-western Ontario. :) Thanks.
