Market Shopping, Sunny Skies Return, Quiet Lazy Afternoon

Other than Clemmy waking up sick at 2 am, we slept well until 7 when we got up on Saturday, Feb. 16th. We’d made plans to drive into the Arizona Market with Rob and Pat so after my walk around the park and our hot drinks, I made up poached eggs on rye toast.

Promising skies? or just hopeful?

Cute little homemade trailer with blinds on the window
A pretty wall in the park
I think we're in Arizona
What I didn't get a picture of was his Harley in the driveway
so this must be hers
I love the little trunk on the scooter
Getting in there early on Saturday meant ‘no fee’ entry so we left home at 8:45. The sun was out and bringing in the heat already so despite the wind, I de-layered one of my sweaters before leaving Black Beauty. We separated ways and agreed to text when one of us was finished. Bill and I made the last 2 purchases on our list and I even got my rings cleaned for free. My Avon cleaner is old and just doesn’t do the job that this deep cleaning did. They look like new again!

Look at them shine!
I might have to go back and pick up a jar of the cream
I got her card so I'd remember
We waited in the sunny courtyard for Rob and Pat and when they were finished, we walked to the exit/entrance. Who should we spot just arriving but George and Suzie! These latter trips to the Market are usually quicker, in and out, just enough time to pick up the last-minute things. We are in the area for another 2 weeks so you never know if we’ll make it back again. They are only open Thursday to Sunday to you need to keep that in mind.

It wasn't very busy yet but it was only 9:30 am
We were home by 10:30 and I made us each a coffee and we shared a package of Nutter Butters. It felt good to just sit and then I thought of a few things that I wanted to do while here in the park. I may or may not get to them today. Nope! Instead I took my yarn and bag outside in the sun and took advantage of some of the Vitamin D rays. After about 45 minutes, Rob and Pat popped over with a ‘predicament’, she called it.
Someone had started this cheese puzzle

So Pat and I delved right in
There were some issues that arose regarding some of our tentative plans for the route home. We sat and ironed out the changes we needed to make. Pat and I walked to the puzzle room and were both disappointed that the puzzle we chose and started yesterday was completely finished! That is what happens in a park of busy people, especially on wet, cloudy days. No worries, there was another one on the go at the other table so we sat and worked on it. A few ladies came and went, including Pat, but I stayed true until 4 when I walked back home.

This cloud is made up of smoke, it has been filtering this way, off in the distance
since we drove to the market
I sat with Bill and Mr. Unsettled, trying to crochet, until 5:30 when Bill lit the Weber for supper. Clemson and I went for a walk before we started cooking just around the short block. He gets ants in his little pants and he certainly deserves to get out for a walk during the daylight hours. He seems to be feeling okay after the early morning disruption. Probably just ate too much yesterday.

And the sun set to the west without fanfare
I prepped two chicken thighs for grilling and made a salad as our side dish. I nibbled on some cheddar cheese as I was feeling the rumblings in my tummy. Breakfast and even the nutter butters were a long time ago. Bill went on his laptop and made the necessary change to our reservation for late March and I caught up on this post.

And supper was good
I eventually mixed my chicken to make it a chicken salad
Supper was ready shortly after 6 and dishes cleaned up shortly before 7. The evening has cooled from 68F today to 62F by 7:30 and the winds have remained fairly brisk all day. They are registering 7 mph with gusts to 10 mph in the last hour.

The view out our back window to the south showed the pretty part of the sunset
This has been another nice day. The evening will be spent with Bill reading and watching the bedroom tv. I’ll be downstairs with my crocheting and watching my recorded episode of This is Us.

And my sister sent me this from home today
This is The Ridge
She said that we shouldn't come home yet

Good night from a much warmer winter place!
I hope your day has been a good one too. If you have the time, please feel free to leave a comment, I love hearing from you! Thanks for stopping by.

  3. Awww poor Clemson. I hope he's feeling better. Keep your camera out ... there's a full moon on the 19th. The ridge does look rather chilly!!! I think I would put that off for as long as possible!!

  5. Nice of Donna to send you reminders of why it's best not to hurry home. Soon though the white stuff will gone and the grass will green up and we'll all be in a hurry to get back to our summer spots. Until then, enjoy the warmth.

  6. Hello and I am caught up. Sounds like you have been having a wonderful time, of course, spending time with Pat and Rob, the dinner looked delicious (Such a nice couple; we are glad we got to meet them.), plus visits with Kim, Ken, Suzie, and George. So happy Shirley and Ken had the chance to visit and meet Pat and Rob I know they were looking forward to doing so.
Sounds like a nice visit to Mexico and it was a nice surprise meeting on the way in, always fun to see you all. We will have to try that restaurant for breakfast tomorrow, I need an adjustment on my glasses so we are heading that way early. Hoping to get out before the long lines...lol
Lovely pictures you have been taking on your early morning walks. Cute line up of golf carts.
Enjoy your last couple of weeks at the park. Take care.

  7. It is cold here in the North but on a nice day with the sun shining on the pristine snow, it's beautiful! Spring will soon be here; We haven't had to shovel for 3 days now. :-D
