And the Rains Came

Park Place RV Park

On Saturday, Nov. 15th I took my time getting up, or so I thought. Turns out it was still 7 o'clock when I was up making the bed. I guess that is sleeping in for me. We decided to do laundry on Sunday which meant today was a day of leisure.

Good morning!

Bill was up, getting ready for flying, hoping that the forecasted rain was going to hold off for them. I think the time changed 3 times throughout the day as to when the sky would fall. I had no need or real desire to go out and Gibbs seemed to be of the same mind.

Lots of clouds this morning
but at least they are pretty.

His tummy was rumbling this morning so maybe he wasn't feeling great. He usually gets a teaspoon of my good plain, high fat yogourt every morning with me. I'm out of it and only have Tillamook 1% fat (😫) yogourt. Yeuch, I'm disappointed, they make such good ice cream.

Gibbs was Momma's boy today.
I didn't mind at all until
he put a stop to my crocheting.
💖
I didn't want to waken a sleeping puppy.

Anyway, Gibbs screwed his nose up at it, like I did. The morning passed and after flying, Bill went to Jim's to help rehang the pictures in his Hangar. He takes them down each spring while they are away so the heat doesn't affect them.

Now you can see the problem.
Follow the wool trail.
So, I rested for 15 minutes waiting.

The rain started at 10 and stopped, after 30 drops. We did get a downpour for about 25 minutes later in the day. The smell of a rainy desert is one we hope to never forget. It's fresh but with undertones of earth that gets into your nostrils. Not in a bad way, for us at least.

Don't laugh, I take a horrible
selfie.
The toque is tight, for my sister's
smaller head so I took my glasses off.
I'm pleased though, it isn't
perfect but is better than I thought.

I used Madame IP to make some steel cut oats for breakfasts this week and then attempted to make some keto turtle candy. That was a disaster! I don't know if I copied the recipe down wrong but other than keeping them frozen and eating them from the freezer, it was a wasted hour.

At 3, I took Gibbs for a walk and
even though he hasn't eaten or drank all
day, he did, um, 'poop' for me.
Later, while we were making supper,
he ate his supper from last night
and drank.

I also made a box of Jello for those nights we feel like something for dessert. Sugar-free, of course but it won't last long. We had lunch when Bill got home and then I worked on my beanie/toque. Using the chunky wool was a good thought but it was probably harder than it needed to be.

A cooler walk, but very nice.
I saw a few puddles around the park.

Donna, back home, asked if I would make her a toque in certain colours so I'm practicing. This one would work well for her, it's warm, but not sure if the colour suits her. It was what I had on hand. I'll work on another one in between doing some quilling. Nice to have options!

For supper, we had Bill's grilled bacon cheeseburgers. Yummy, we missed the good bacon! Last night, I watched a really funny movie. Kind of 'silly' funny but because it was Kevin James with Alan Ritchson (aka Reacher). That made it even funnier for me.

Is this the end of the rain?

The burgers were extra messy but very good with good buns. 😀 While Bill was bbq'ing, the rain returned and that was after sunshine had also made an appearance. Strange day as the rains brought cooler temperatures too. By suppertime, it was 68F/18C, quite refreshing through our windows.

This is a low spot along the north
side of the clubhouse.

I had hoped to get out on Lila but yesterday was still too hot and today, well, it just didn't happen in between the showers. I found some tv to watch while Bill went up to watch a movie. We do have different tastes in movies.

The row of lights replaces
a single, smaller light.
This is nice.

It was a good day. I walked over after 4 to take a picture of the new light Bill installed in the club washroom. The old one burnt out when I was using the facilities a few days ago. We put our stand alone lamp in there for the time being. Glad to have it back.

The rain returned 3 or 4 times through the early evening but it is supposed to be dry on Sunday.

The Bill burger.
Good night!

Thank you for your visit.

  4. The best burgers are always the messy ones! That looks delicious.
I was shortly after 5 a.m. and it smelled like rain and not long after it started to sprinkle. Later still, we had a couple of downpours in the afternoon. I'll be out cleaning up the patio this morning and it had quite a bit of rain on it. At least I now know my roof on the RV doesn't leak. :)

Rain in the city smells like DUST - not so pleasant :( May get some sprinkles today...or not.

Yah, rain in our previous city, nothing to 'write home about' either.
