A Good Day in Yuma

On Friday, we were all up by 6:30 getting ready for the day. It was going to be another warm/hot day, 81F/25C, so Bill and I dressed appropriately. It is usually 5 degrees warmer in Yuma than here since it is further south. He wore shorts and I wore my sun(flower) dress.

Good morning!
On our way to Yuma
as the sun rose over the mountains.

We left at 8 and had a good peaceful drive for 85 minutes. It was all lined out in our heads where we were going and we followed through with only one deviation. Bill dropped me off at the Yuma Palms Mall (Marshall's, Ross, Pet Smart, Bealls) and across the street, Target, Michael's and Hobby Lobby.

After coming out of Ross and Marshall's, I know which one I'd rather shop in. Marshall's just has a better selection. I walked to Michaels and Bill met me there. He'd been with Tommy at Home Depot buying lumber for the flying club. 

The City of Yuma

We found the material he needed for making wing covers and then we walked next door to Target to purchase our own Christmas gifts. It was noon hour but we had stamps to buy to mail the last of our Christmas cards and Bill had a couple of things he needed at Harbor Freight.

A couple of stops

We went back to the mall and got in the drive-thru line at In-'n-Out Burger for lunch. 20 minutes later, we paid and parked at the mall to eat in the shade. Cheap yes, and because we both hungry, it tasted pretty good. Not our first choice but still okay.

Most stores say 'no food or drinks'.

We walked into Sam's Club and donated the least $$ we've spent in a long time in there. Lastly, we left the busy-ness of the city (and it was nuts, drivers were nuts) and drove to Walmart on our way to the Arizona Market. We checked for Vetericyn Plus for Gibbs, no luck, and left with just Greenies and milkbones.

While we were parked to eat our
lunch, 3 men were transporting this
pretty little Chevy Blazer somewhere.

The Arizona Market fielded us licorice (Bill can't walk by without stopping) and a sun visor for Bette. I hope I got one that she'll like. 

Lunch, the price was appealing.
We each got cheeseburger, fries
and a milkshake. $20.87. Awesome!

My comment to Bill was
"It is going to be a pretty sunset tonight
with those clouds"

We didn't need supper but I couldn't stop drinking water. I was very thirsty when we got home. We watched tonight's episode of Sheriff Country and relaxed for the night catching up on Elspeth episodes that I've missed. I couldn't stay awake past 9:15!

It's always a challenge getting a decent
picture of the blimp but finally, I got it at
the right angle.

Someone got a little nosy when I put the bags 
on the bed. He knew there was something
in there for him.

I felt very tired, my legs walked more today than they have in a long time. It was a very good, successful day. 

I knew something special was coming.

I chatted with Deb for a bit while
the painting changed numerous times.

We didn't get things off our grocery list but will head to Walmart on Sunday afternoon to take care of that. 

And the grand finale was
totally worth waiting for.
