Some Music to my Ears?

Park Place RV Park

On Thursday, Dec. 11th Gibbs decided that he did not want to help Daddy on his ride around the park. He thought he was going somewhere in Black Beauty so was too disappointed when he was taken to the golf cart. So, Bill returned him home.

Good morning!

I had left my paper quilling 'stuff' in the office, so didn't have so much to carry over today. At 10, 7 ukelele players arrived in the clubhouse for a practice. I think only 2 were actually park guests but Sue approved this as a practice day. It just meant I had to try and carry on with 'music' in the background.

I'm not keen on the sound, at all, sorry to any players out there, but just strumming over and over and the occasional voices (some out of tune) singing together (?) was enough to give me a headache by the time they packed up at 11:30.

Bill drove the route by himself.

I did try and appear joyful when they played 'We Wish you a Merry Christmas'. I actually sang along and applauded. Perhaps it was because I knew it was their finale for the morning. πŸ˜‚ It wasn't bad at all because everyone knew the words AND the tune.

Gibbs wasn't sure what to think about
Bette's newest family addition.
'Freddy the Freeloader' just sat safely
in his cage, while Gibbs barked at him.

Bill and I had lunch together and I went back at 1. Thinks we're pretty quiet for the afternoon, no strumming ensued. Had it been a nice acoustic group, now that's different.

Previous park hosts stopped by for some mail and a chat and the day was gone in a flash.  I finished one decoration for the park model and started another for the clubhouse.

Bill had taken Gibbs for his walk but I took him over to see Bette. He wasn't happy about the new addition to her family and battles at Freddy the Freeloader. πŸ€πŸ˜…

Bette is going to keep an eye on Gibbs tomorrow while we disappear for the day. She is a valued friend. πŸ’• Bill left for the flying field for night flying around 5ish and so our evening meal was held off. Instead, I prepared some cookies, ready to bake after we ate.

Funny story. This was a FB memory
that came up for me today.
This is in George's blog from
Rock Glen RV Park a while ago.
He commented on the guitar player
walking the park.
I recognized his as my talented
grandson, Jake. Suzie may remember
this. πŸ’•πŸ’•Made me smile.

Supper, around 6:30, was leftovers with a veggie on the side. Donna has me envying her meal creations at home but I'm in a bit of a rut right now.  We'll get better, but for now, we cleaned up things from the fridge. I put the 2 trays of Keto Pecan Cookies in the oven.

They never look like they
do in the original picture.

We watched Bosch reruns as there was nothing else on of interest. The cookies look and taste good. 😊 It will be a guilt-free snack when we need it. This was a hot day filled with blue sunny skies.

I had rice hamburger helper in tacos.

Reaching 81F/25C is nothing to sniff at especially after hearing and seeing what our friends and family are having back home. They are in a white world right now. I hope your day was a nice as mine and the weekend is not far away.

Good night!

Thank you for stopping by.

Using my Brain, teehee, Another Beauty of a Day

Park Place RV Park

On Wednesday, Dec. 10th Bill, Gibbs and I were all up by 7. I had my shower right away and Bill got ready for his day. I was feeling quite good this morning after my stretches that I ventured out to walk with the ladies. Four of us; Diane, Bette, Sue and myself.

Good morning!

On our return, Bill was leaving for his QDF meeting at Jim's. I went over to the clubhouse at 9 for Coffee and Conversation and Sue had another nice cinnamon coffee cake baked for her guests. It was very good but I limited myself to one small piece with my tea.

Bette's dogs didn't get their earlier walk
so joined us with Annie as the pack leader.
She's a cutie.

Bill was back by 10 and Sue told him she saved him a piece. 😁 It was a quiet morning over there today and at noon I came back to have lunch with Bill. Today, a meat, cheese, onion and pepper quesadilla was on my menu. It was quite good with some sour cream.

Lunch was tasty.
Still eating grapes from Thanksgiving.

I went back after lunch but used my brain this time. I took my quilling board, a couple of wooden things from the $ store back home and my packet of papers. I may as well work away at a decoration for the park's park model. There will be guests in there for a few days over Christmas.

Gibbs after his walk, makes it obvious
that he doesn't want to go inside yet. πŸ’—

Bill did his last run around the park at 4, he had been working this morning in the storage pod with Fred and on his plane this afternoon. It has been a great day, reaching 79F/24C, under sunny skies again.

Ann-Marie took advantage of
Quartzsite's little bus service.
It's very reasonable and nice to have.

I took Gibbs for his walk around the park and we sat in the 'gazebo' until 5. For supper, we agreed on an old favourite, not necessarily a 'good for us' fav though. Hamburger helper, because it is quick, easy and I'm running out of ideas to switch meals up.

Bill works on his air plane

When I realized it was not pasta, but rice (called Cheesy Enchilada), I decided to serve it in taco shells. Without black beans, which I didn't have, it was pretty messy. Bill gave up after one taco and had the rest on his plate with a fork. πŸ˜‚ I can't blame him!

Black Beauty gets in the spirit
of the season

It was tasty, I'll give it that, and filling. After supper, we watched Survivor, placing our 'bets' on who's going home tonight! We had a quiet evening. I finished my blog and we settled in for the night. This was a great day.

These were very tasty just
incredibly messy.
Good night!

Thank you for stopping by.

Another Game Day, Renee and I Finish the Puzzle

Park Place RV Park

On Tuesday, Dec. 9th, other than it being my Dad's 'heavenly' birthday and a girlfriend's birthday, it was a lovely morning when we got up. It was around 7 when I got out of bed with Gibbs. We had breakfast and Bill and Gibbs did their drive around the park.

Good morning!
These are the last of the cards
ready for mailing.

I went to the clubhouse and after rolling a bunch of quarters for Sue, I worked on the puzzle. Bill worked on one of the park's storage pods for Fred. He likes to keep busy during the mornings and this was something the manager wanted cleaned up.

This is the biggest group of ladies
to play Pokeno
so far!

After lunch at home with Bill, I finished writing up my Christmas cards. We need a few more stamps and they'll be in the mail. I went over with my container of pennies for Pokeno. We were all thrilled that there were 10, yes 10, players today. Linda came with Karen and Sue from her park down the road.

The pretty puzzle is done.

To put it mildly, we had a great time! Funny thing, Karen is from the Grand Prairie area in Alberta and Sue is from London, Ontario, where Bill and I lived and worked for 30 years. Small world. πŸ˜‰

Around 5, the sun began to set.

Renee and I worked on the puzzle until it was finished, around 4 pm. Now we can move on to a Christmas one, we have many. I suggested she choose one so it will be a surprise to see if she does.

No disappointment here!

Bill took Gibbs for his walk at 4 and for supper, grilled bacon cheeseburgers that were delicious. We finished the yogourt cake for dessert and watched our NCIS programs. Gibbs slept with Santa on the floor beside me while I wrote my blog.

Such a sweet boy.
He needs a haircut so bad.
6 more days!

We reached 75F/23C today under sunny clear skies once more. Just lovely! Not many pictures today but it was a wonderful day. It was great fun playing with the ladies, and I'm sure everyone left feeling the same way.

Happy Heavenly Birthday, Daddy.
Good night!

Thank you for your visit.

Ladies Poker Pool!

Park Place RV Park

On Monday, Dec. 8th I slept well until I heard Bill and Gibbs getting up at 6:15. I don't recall hearing them come back in and didn't wake again until 7:15. That was a nice sleep.

Good morning!
Poker pool was fun.

Bill left for the field and I had my banana and cream with a cup of tea. Lots of cream going on there, that is what keeps me filled until almost noon. Gibbs and I went for a walk and I was curious how he was today. It was great to see that he was back to his normal self.

The puzzle is getting closer every day.
Got the kitty cat done today.

We walked around the inside of the park and returned home just in time for me to grab my coffee cup and cue stick. It's Poker Pool time! Today, there were 6 of us to play. and that included Linda (from my previous quilling classes) and her friend. We had a great time even though I came in 5th. πŸ˜€

We found a place for the manger scene
in the clubhouse.

At noon, I returned home to Bill and Gibbs for lunch. I had a meat and cheese wrap for a change and when Bill and Gibbs dozed, I went back to work on the puzzle for an hour. I'd like to finish the puzzle over the next couple of days if possible.

We were sitting in the sun
for Happy Hour when a transport
arrived with a delivery across the lane.
We moved so it could use the site
to deliver the skid lots easily.

At 3, I made a cup of tea and Bill and I took our chairs to the 'sunny side of the Suite' (get it? πŸ˜‚). We don't always take Gibbs to Happy Hour, he likes to be with us but we sit in the sun and he prefers shade. He happily takes his treat and goes up to the bed while we're gone. πŸ’•

A small grouping today
but still a nice visit.

It was a nice chit chat for a couple of hours and we returned home for supper. First, Bill drove down the street to fill our 2 bottles of water and then lit the Weber. He grilled a pork chop for himself and inside I fried some calf liver for myself. Yum!

Supper was good.
Dessert was cranberry casserole.

We each had a vegetable and some mac & cheese. I have run out of potatoes, which are no better, but needed to have something on the side. Salads just don't do it for me BUT I should pick some up for nights like this. We cleaned up the dishes and settled in for the night.

Deb and Tom went to
Parker today and while there,
picked me up some Magnesium Glycinate.
I'm going to start this today
and see how things go.
Thanks all for the tips.

It was a warm 74F/22C again today but we're expecting a warmer 47F/8C overnight. There are some lovely warm days in the week ahead with full sunny skies. We are so fortunate and grateful for what we are being blessed with. It was a great day!

Good night!

Thank you for stopping in today. I always enjoy your comments.

Laundry Day, Puzzling and Oh, A Happy Hour!

Park Place Rv Park

On Sunday, Dec. 7th the day started off with me getting up at 6:30. I felt slept out and it gave us the chance to sort laundry early and get it started. I knew we could be in and out of there before Jim (another early bird) needed the machines. 😊

Good morning!
Our little tent is lit up for Christmas too.

Top: on the way to the laundromat
Bottom: on the way back to the Suite
10 minutes later.

Bill left for the flying field and I went back and forth keeping an eye on the clothes' progress. I stayed and worked on the puzzle for about an hour after they were folded in the basket and chatted with Bette and Jim. He arrived when I was finished so our timing was perfect.

Pop! there it is.

Back at home, I took Gibbs for his walk and noticed some limping but only occasionally. I can't see anything in his foot pads so wonder if it his long claws and hair between the 'toes' that is bothering him. We'll keep an eye on it, just aren't going to Walmart for another few days.

Bette has the clubhouse decorated,
inside and out.

Gibbs and I sat outside when we got back, he in his bed and me in my chair. I picked up this 'create'-type book so worked on a few things inside it. It's just for fun.

Can you see the little guy in his
bed? He went straight to it
when we came from his walk.

Bill was home for lunch and I made us an omelette for a change. He had stopped at Roadrunner for milk and bread and came home with a freshly made loaf of French bread. Unfortunately, it is delicious and we eat it! πŸ˜…

This is an interesting book.
I'll have fun with some of the challenges.

I went back to the puzzle for another hour and a half before returning home for Happy Hour.

Almost done!

Because our 'patio' is in the shade, when Ken and Kim arrived we moved our chairs into the empty site between ours and the Duchaine's. There was sun there.

Happy Hour
Well, we started out in the sun!

Today was a warm day again but it took its time getting there. We started at 43F/6C. This afternoon, our high was 74F/22C and the sky remained clear all day long. Bill took Gibbs for a walk, or more like a run, as the little guy showed no discomfort. Go figure!?

The sun begins to set

For supper, we had shrimp, leftover dressing for Bill and root vegetables for me. It was filling but we found room for a piece of Yogourt Cake with raspberry topping. Today, my sister Gayle and her husband, John, left Roadrunner blm.

Supper was filling

Soon, they will be crossing the border into Mexico for the rest of the winter. We wish them well and safe travels. This has been a nice day, all in all and we won't be quite as cold over the next few nights, That will be welcome.

Thank you for your visit.

A Quiet Day

 Park Place RV Park

On Saturday, Dec. 6th we were all up before 7. I felt better than I have for a few mornings but still did my stretches. It was a cold  morning, only 42F/5C again. Bill had his breakfast and I had my tea made before he left for the field.

Good morning!
A blurry photo on my walk with Gibbs
but lovely clear skies.

I had nothing on my plate today, so I was free to do whatever I wanted. Gee, that is kind of what all my days are like. Before I go further, a heartfelt thank you to all who have commented on my last post. I just felt it was time to share something, near and dear to me, with all of you.

Some day you may need to know where I'm coming from, if I disappear for a while. I pray that it will not be for a very long time. On to today. I had my shower, grumbled at the scales as usual, and when my hair was dry enouogh (it never takes long), I took Gibbs for his walk.

We were talking about these prehistoric
looking bugs at Happy Hour yesterday.
Lo and behold, here is another straggler.
It is a Western Conifer Seed Bug
NOT a stink bug. I knew it didn't stink
when I killed it! πŸ˜‚
He went down the toilet with all the rest.
Then in the shower, a straggler Asian Beetle. LOL

I could tell he was not overly comfortable walking but wouldn't stop. He kept pushing forward. By the time we returned home, I'd decided to reapply coconut oil (until I get the Vetericyn) and put his socks on. They are just so darn cute on him!

I went to the puzzle around 10:30 with my coffee and worked on it until noon hour. Bill was home with not the best news but his plane was repairable at least. Kind of like Ken's yesterday. These planes are hardy and so are the pilots!

The puzzle is coming along nicely.

I worked on finishing up the greeting cards, still waiting for something from Amazon (Monday) so I can get them off in the mail. I took Gibbs for a walk around 4ish and he seemed better at walking. Bill was working on his new shiny lime and white plane.

I had Rosy air fry chicken thighs while I cooked squash for me and Stove Top stuffing on the side. I'll have a bit, because I like it and this one has cranberries in the mix. LOL Supper was very good and my 'guinea pig' recipe to use up yogourt was very good!

These are our children's family groupings,
all represented on the tree.
My family, Bridgette and Patrick
and their boys. πŸ’–

Bill's family,
Yvonne and her boys,
Charlotte and her girls,
Krystal and Jess with their
millionaire families.
😍

The 4 Ingredient Yogourt Cake came out like a souffle of sorts and I will probably make it again to use up the other container of yogourt that is in the fridge. We watched the 2019 version of Midway and then cleaned up the few pots and turned the dishwasher on.

Supper was good
The 4 ingredients?
Eggs, corn starch, Splenda & yogourt.

We reached a higher temperature of 70F/18C under clear sunny skies. We could feel the change and will enjoy the upcoming days in the mid 70's/20's. Bring it on!

Back home, Durham's Christmas
parade was on last night.
Our Lion's friends, Roz and Brian
took it to heart and dressed up.
Cute!
Good night!

Thank you for stopping by.

Christmas is Coming! Heart to Heart Re: My Sister

Park Place RV Park

So, it was 6:15 on Friday, Dec. 5th when I first woke. Actually, when we all first woke. Bill took Gibbs out, sockless, since he pulled it off last night and I had to hide it in a cupboard in order for him to settle down. His nose is so efficient that as long as it was in my hand, we could hear *sniff sniff sniff*. LOL

Good morning!

I looked at his sore and it looks much better, can't even see the redness so the coconut oil helped. Thank you all for the suggestion of the Vetericyn spray, I am going to get some for the next time. Also, the Magnesium, (should it be just Magnesium or the one with Glycinate? Does it matter?)

The last of my pizza,
I added some green olives today.

Bill left for the field, garbed in his jacket. It was only 40F/4C overnight and first thing this morning. With our BF heater on low last night, we were toasty enough and happy to have it. A cycle through with the furnace when he gets up warms up the floors in here nicely.

I am pleased with this end of the
living room.

I stayed in my loungies and made room for the Christmas decorations. Bill got the tree out from under the bed for me before he left so I was home free! I love seeing all my old favourite ornaments and can remember the history behind each one as I place them on the tree.

When I got to the end, I opened the bag of the ones I made in Paisley. One for each child and one for each grandchild. I did have to make a new one for baby Quinn so did that so they were complete. I took pictures of each family grouping to send to our offspring so they know they are represented on our little 4' tree. πŸ’–

We are almost ready
for Christmas.

I was overjoyed when Donna messaged me that in exactly 7 days, she received her package with the 3 hats and journal book I sent her. She loves them all and sent me pictures of her wearing them. What many of you don't know is that Donna has been battling non-small cell lung cancer since 2019.

My beautiful sister, Donna.
Does she remind you of anyone?
Of course, Mom, with that smile.

After being diagnosed at that time, she was told she had 12 months. Here she is, a real trooper, caring for herself in her own natural ways without chemo, other than small dosages in pill form. Until this past year, she has not shown any symptoms even though the cancer was growing.

With a few radiation treatments over the past couple of years on lesions in her head, she has lost and regained her driver's license only to lose it again for good. Each lesion has been zapped but they continued to return and multiply. Her latest treatments, 4 in a row in November, are probably the last. πŸ˜”

Now, only now, has she begun to lose her fine hair and requires warmth in other ways. Hence, the hats. πŸ’• She is home in the cold weather of Ontario, Canada, so needs to keep warm!

She is the most positive person and I admire her so much for it. Donna is continuing to fight this battle for as long as she can and has her family's full support.

I'm not letting myself be sad about it, she is strong and so I will do my best as well. Please keep her in your prayers and think positive thoughts too!

I have never mentioned it here before although I have never been asked 'not' to. We are going through something genuinely serious so need to now.

I went over to work on the puzzle after lunch for about an hour and a half before returning home.

What do I miss about boondocking?
The Saguaros are a big thing.

We loaded our chairs and cooler and drove to have a 'perhaps last' Happy Hour with my sister and her husband before they leave next week for Mexico.

A sunny group for Happy Hour.
Sorry Kim about the sun but the other
picture.......well, you know. πŸ˜‚

We discussed, hashed and rehashed 'things' (πŸ˜…) until shortly after 5 when we took our leave. It was nice to see them all again and I managed to soak in some sun the whole time. The air turned cool when it began its evening demise so it was nice to get indoors at home.

The sun sets on a great day.

Grilled sausages on a bun for supper and we enjoyed them as usual. This was a nice day. I hope yours was as well.

Supper was good, one day
we'll find the perfect buns. πŸ˜‚
Good night!

Thank you for the visit.
