Oopsie! Go to Your Room! Handsome Boy

The Ridge

When I woke up on Tuesday, May 19th, I knew I'd had a really good sleep. I know I was dreaming, my step-daughter, Krystal and her sister, Charlotte, were prominent just before waking. Interesting. I could hear Bill get up so that was around 6:15, I think.

Good morning!
This is the morning ritual
before Bill goes to work.

Today was another warm day with more thunderstorms forecasted for the day's end. Each day I wake, I am feeling better and still am so grateful that this 'cold' has not progressed beyond my throat. No sniffles, no fever, no headache and even my throat hasn't been sore since the first day.

The little boy I dropped off
at Bath and Biscuit.

Soon it will be but a memory.😉 Bill left at 7:30 and Gibbs and I relaxed until about 9. I was finished my tea so went upstairs and brushed the little guy. He loves being brushed but when I came across a couple of sticky 'buds' off the tree, he wasn't so happy.

I stopped at Foodland's garden centre
and came home with 12 plants to start

I finished by brushing his teeth and snipping a couple of hair clumps from those long flowing ears of his. At 9:45, we drove into town for his grooming appointment at Kates. I couldn't locate his seatbealt in the back so had him on his leash, tethered beside me in the front seat. He behaved very well.

I had to stop at the bush
on Baptist Church Rd. for
a picture before these Trilliums
were gone.

After dropping him off, I drove to Foodland and picked out 12 vegetable plants. At 4 for $12, I took advantage. Just various tomatoes and peppers but I want some cherry tomatoes as well. They didn't have any. I have 16 'plots' so will shop either at Coop or Walmart.

The handsome boy I picked up
2 hours later.

I came home and worked on the puzzle until it was time to pick Gibbs up at 12 noon. He looks as handsome as ever and I'm sure feels like a million bucks. It didn't cost quite that much but his fees are still a lot. We keep saying how good a job she does, something we can't do, so pay what we need to.

Going out of town, the
Donut tree is filling out.

This little guy was having fun
with his head in the wind.

Then, at home, when I'd almost slowed to a stop, I thought I'd put Ptooties in Park and took my foot off the brake as I gathered up his leash and my purse. Oopsie! We rolled slowly right into the Suite's 5th wheel hitch, smash right into the passenger side windshield!

I feel/felt so bad.
Poor Ptooties!

I put her in Reverse and backed up before calling Bill. What a blubbering mess I was! Poor man, took a while to get out of me what happened. I'm sure it was a scary 30 seconds for him too! He calmed me down and after making sure Gibbs and I were safe, said he'd be home soon.

Finally, my first hummingbird
visits.

There's always worse case scenarios, you know like touching the gas instead..........so, I calmed down and when my dear, sweet, hubby came home, he pulled her up onto the mat so I could vacuum up the mess. He called Speedy AutoGlass and made an appointment for Friday to replace it. LOL

Because of the impending rain,
we covered the windshield.

I will be taking him to work in the morning so I have Black Beauty to do my job. The car is driveable but until Friday, when Bill takes it in, we'll not risk it. Tomorrow's temperature will be another shock, just so we don't get comfy with the warmth. Good grief!

While they slept, I
finished the puzzle.

Bill and Gibbs snoozed and I went out and finished the puzzle. One piece missing, darn! It was a fun one to do but I miss my puzzling partner, Renee, and Sue, with her odd piece here and there.  🤭 We had some good conversations while she worked and I played.

One of those pictures that
are too precious to miss.

For supper, I will quick fry a couple of eye of the round steaks that Bill brought home from the field yesterday. Extras leftover from their brunch. Never look a gift horse in the mouth, right? Steak supper, it is! The steak was a bit tough but they actually were okay.

The Phlox is brightening
up the garden.

I cooked potatoes and a vegetable each and black cherry Chapman's ice cream for dessert. I had a half banana in mine. 💕 We cleaned up the dishes and continued with Bosch. I'm enjoying watching tv with Bill, he remembers more of these episodes than I do!

A rare picture.
3 Goldfinches having a meeting.

It was a good day if we can forget about Ptooties. 😕 We reached 26.67C/80F and will be dropping to 4.44C/40F overnight. Back to winter temps tomorrow. Oh brother!

Supper was good.
Good night!

Thank you for the visit.

  1. Ouch, so sorry about the car, but at least you and Gibbs are not injured. Look at those lovely finches, still waiting for them to appear here.
Gibbs will be much cooler now.

  4. Pretty boy and sad ptooties. You might want to pay out-of-pocket for that one. No need to let Mr. Insurance Company know. I know they pay for it, but my rates went up. The next chip, I paid for it myself. It wasn't that much and saved money on raising rates.

  5. An oopsie for sure. Sometimes we just have to forget about it and move on with our day. Shoulda, coulda, woulda never helps the situation. A cooler day today. I would like to get some plants for the garden and my garden bags. Not sure yet what I want but will know when I see it! Gibbs will be much more comfortable with his haircut!
