The leaves def. look like Viola Sororia which is the common violet that's native to basically all of Eastern North America including Ontario, no doubt. It's hard to tell in the photo if those are tiny spots on the petals but it sure looks like it could be at least related to this cultivar pictured below called "Freckles" which I read somewhere else a few seconds ago (Wiki?) that it was found/selected in Wisconsin.
