Slide Adjustment, 'Friendly' Walk, Friendlier Happy Hour

On Tuesday, Apr. 2nd I was awake at 6:30 but didn’t get up until closer to 7. This was more like the time I like to rise. By the time I got downstairs, it was light enough to add my layers for a walk. There was no wind just the normal brisk air of an early morning in Ohio. It was 34F/1.1C. The sky was covered in clouds but to the east, there was a photo opportunity while the sun played tag with the clouds.

Good Morning, Tuesday!
I got over a mile in, walking all around the park, before I returned to the warmth of the Suite. My tea always tastes so much better after I’ve been out in the cold, kind of like a reward. Good girl! 😊 We read a few blogs and I copied a couple of Instant Pot recipes into my Word documents and then got breakfast underway. Now that I’m enjoying salsa with my bacon and eggs, I’ll have to look online for an easy recipe and make some with this year’s tomatoes.

We cleaned up dishes and ourselves and Rob came over around 9 to help Bill work on our bedroom slide once more. I debated on going to the pool/hot tub today so pulled my bathing suit and towel out of the closet, just in case. I won’t be able to get up there once they start. Around 11:30 the boys were finished working and the slide-out had another temporary fix. It still needs some attention to the cable mechanism but that is something CanAm will need to address for us.

Don't these look like fun

Mr. Robin at our door
No, you can't come in
Rob and Bill had a coffee and a couple of Nutter Butters, not much of a thankyou for Rob but for now we hope it will suffice. His help means a lot as they work well together. While they did that, I needed to be available to pull the slide in and out when they asked me to. Not a big part in the action, but a necessary one. I kept myself busy by finishing up an infinity scarf but decided at the last minute not to join the ends. Instead, it will be one I can lay across my shoulders, around my neck and close with a button.

Another little project finished
Then next, I was trying to figure out how to do a simple crochet maneuver while I waited and ended up more frustrated than the boys. I’m going to ask Kim if she knows how to do it. I ended up giving that idea up and using up the last of the wool by knitting another scarf. Hopefully there is enough to finish one. At 1:30 the temperature had risen to 49F/10C and the sun ruled the sky. I texted Pat about a walk and together we walked on the Journey’s door and asked Ken if Kim could come out to play.

Kim is trying to remember how to do the braided coat hanger thing
for Pat
We walked for an hour and it was leisurely and quite enjoyable, catching up and talking about whatever. Sadly, for me, Kim doesn’t know the crochet thing I spoke about so just as good that I had abandoned that idea.

And a teensy bit of fun was had
It was agreed that we would all meet at their place for Happy Hour so at 3:15 we made a drink and gathered next door.  Rob and Pat joined us a few minutes later. We had a great Happy Hour, well, Happy 3 hours. LOL the time does fly when you’re having fun!

Simple tasty supper

It was shortly after 6 when we all parted ways and I got the air fryer out for chicken nuggets. I cooked corn for Bill and cauliflower for me and together it was a nice easy supper. We cleaned up dishes and I worked on this post.

This is another busy tv night for us, as you know, so we settled in for the evening. Well, I didn’t make it to the pool but it was a good day. Our slide is on the mend for another little while and we’ve had a nice visit with our good friends, Kim and Ken.

Goodnight y'all!

I hope your day was a good one as well. Thank you for stopping in. your comments are greatly appreciated.

ha ha, I'd love to but it needs to be warmer. Sorry!!
I think you mean Bill and Pat in the picture, although Rob looks pretty cute too. :)
Two pics of the sunset, I must have had too much vodka!

    1. Thanks Nancy. How to do a Magic Circle. It looks and sounds simple but I can't get my brain wrapped around it and all pictures omit the 'tail' end. I'm a duh!

  4. The sunrise photos are so lovely!

I've been crocheting for years and still haven't figured out the magic circle, despite you-tube videos. I just slip stitch into the first chain, and as I crochet into the circle in tuck the tail in as I go. Good luck!

    1. thank you Maebeme. I'll have to try it again. The circle is something about pulling the one end to make the 'hole' disappear. LOL My head hurts! haha
