A Sunny Sunday, Gibbs in the Spotlight

Pilot Knob RV Resort, Winterhaven, CA It was 7:30 when Gibbs and I slipped out of bed for our walk. Our special time together. ♥ It’s only half hour but that is just the start of his many walks throughout the day. A jump start, if you will. The air was coolish, enough for me to wear my hoody and then jacket over top. I was plenty warm. When we returned, Bill was in the shower so I fed the little guy and made my tea.
A view from our outing this morning Today, I made another fruit smoothie and that would get me through to lunch. I’m enjoying them but it means keeping on top of the fruits in the fridge/freezer. πŸ˜‰ Around 10:30 I walked up to the Office and bought our Christmas dinner tickets. The price is up since 2019/20 but only minimal. $25/couple is very reasonable. I checked to see if Elaine had started a new puzzle but she hadn’t so I put the critter one away and checked out the books instead.
Sometimes we walk on Frontage Rd. in front of the park (aka W.Hwy 80) James Patterson’s Cross my Heart came home with me as one we haven’t read. It is hardcover which means the print is a bit larger (not the Bold) print too. On my way back, I saw Allie and Gabby coming my way. Gabby beelined it to me and as soon as I bent over, she rolled onto my feet and onto her back. Oh, my goodness, she is so adorable. ♥ I will miss seeing her, and Allie too, when we leave. Back at home, Bill was stretched out in his chair with Gibbs. Such a hard life we all have!
Sitting like a person - Hi Mom! It was warming up nicely, the high today 70C/21C and the wind died off around noon. I sat outside with Gibbs before we had our poached eggs and bacon on toast. That hit the spot quite nicely! After dishes, I changed into shorts and went outside again with my book. The flies were terrible and my spray didn’t seem to be keeping them away. I managed to finish The Stone Wall and then walked up to the clubhouse to return it.
They're making progress on the roof but apparently the floor needs to be replaced in the puzzle room too When I walked in, I saw Elaine was just starting a very easy puzzle. Just for fun, she said, so we worked on it together and finished it within an hour or so. We laughed about it but will start another more challenging one tomorrow. 😊 She picked this one because the picture was as close to what we are all doing as she could find.
Gabby checking out their neighbours
Allie and Gabby returning home Back home, I found that the movie Sound of Music was on and although it isn’t a Christmas movie, it was the very first theatre movie I ever saw. I've always loved it. I watched it upstairs and then, when we decided we weren’t hungry for a big meal, together made grilled cheese sandwiches for supper. They hit the spot.
One of the joys in my life
The easy puzzle we did in the afternoon. It's a cute one Because of all the commercials, my movie was 4 hours long! Good grief! However, it did allow me time in between to cook the sandwiches so that worked out well. Bill did the dishes and the evening went by without further ado. This was a good day.
The only negative thing being so close to the Mexican border is that when they burn garbage or tires, we often smell it
Depends on the wind and today it was minimal
Our lunch meal was better for a picture than our supper
This dead tree still brought me some joy, making it picture worthy
This is a morning picture but we still bid you Good night! (Blogger has changed and I'm having difficulty processing pictures and their captions - NOTE: the bold writing is picture detail, fyi) Thank you for your visit.

  1. I do like the photo of the dead tree, the lighting is perfect!

I've been working on a jigsaw puzzle and I always think of you when I'm trying to find the pieces. I suspect you'd be finished it much faster than I will.

    Have a great day!

  2. What a joy that Gibbs is to you two. Always happy and needy like a doggie should be. 😍 My first theater movie was Ben Hur! I haven't done a puzzle since I can remember. You'll have to drag me into the puzzle room one day πŸ˜€

    1. It is, isn't it? The sun drew it to my attention. I should get a picture of it without the sun. :)
