A Sweet Day at Home! Will it Rain or Not? The Sky is ‘Iffy’.

The Ridge

On Monday, Sept. 12th I woke up around 5:30 and knew I’d had a good sleep. I felt rested. We were in bed leaning towards the early side. Unusual for Bill, not so for me. 😊 He got up before his alarm so he was also awake. I was happy that I hadn’t heard from M last night. That would have been a call in to work today, but as it stands, he doesn’t need me this week. Yay!

Can you tell if it is going to rain?

I have enough going on and things to get ready for that I appreciate the break. I got up around 6:15 and Gibbs and I said goodbye to Bill as he loaded up his packed cooler and took the garbage and bins down the lane on his way to work. He took Black Beauty today, not because she needed the run but because he had a few things that he wanted to take with him.

Gibbs and I sat at my laptop and I had my tea while working on my blog post from yesterday. With that finished, the day wasn’t looking any brighter than when we woke up. Forecast was for rain but all we’ve had is cloudy skies and about 3 very light rain showers. In between the darkest clouds, Gibbs and I walked down to the corner and brought the recycle bins back up. Just in time too, or we’d have gotten wet!

It's a sleepy lazy day

I did some puttering with pictures on my laptop and then after a quesadilla for lunch, I made some keto peanut butter fudge. The thing with keto is it doesn’t quite harden the way it would with real sugar. But the taste is wonderful! I had made arrangements with Gloria, down the road, to pick me up and take me to walk through the hall on Baptist Church Road. There is a party in the works, surprise to anyone here, and I want to see what is available.

Quite a delicious supper

We had a tour and I was pleased with my options. I appreciate her availability and helpfulness. Back home, I had my afternoon cuppa and tasted the fudge. Yummy. With pork chops out for supper, I thought we’d have a vegetable and the last of the potatoes. We won’t be barbecuing, so I’ll have to get creative with the chops. Bill got home right around 5 pm and we sat together for an hour before he went over to the Acreage to get a bladder full of water.

I went outside to get a picture of the sunset
I can't see it from inside the Suite

I coated the chops with Shake ‘n Bake and put them in the oven for 30 minutes. At the same time, I had potatoes peeled and on a low boil with peas and corn waiting to go into the oven when the chops were done. Bill returned just as the microwave had 2 minutes left to go. 😊 Great timing! Supper was very good and so was the fudge. I washed the saucepan and Bill loaded the dishwasher before making his lunch for tomorrow. Teamwork!

This is one of the prettiest cloud formations
I've seen in a while

The evening was a quiet one with some tv and some reading. My book is quite good.

Just a chuckle for the day.
Good night!

Thank you for stopping by!
