Park Place RV Park
On Thursday, Dec. 22nd (3 more sleeps!) we were up by 7:30 ready to do our own thing. Gibbs and I went for our walk. Bill got ready for flying and then I decided to walk around the bigger block, up along the highway of Main St. There is a sidewalk the whole way and it was a nice change of pace. It brought me to the corner of Discount Solar where I turned and headed towards home. 😊
Not only a lovely morning sky
but a really nice diesel priceThe sidewalk along the highway
is wide and hardly usedcan you read backwards? Ha ha
This whole picture is turned around
Tomorrow,
I’ll walk that way again and finish my Christmas shopping. Just a few small
items needed. Bill was just about to leave as I returned and had turned the
inverter on and shut off the park electrical. We save a bit each month as long
as we use our solar panels as much as possible. I had a cup of tea and some
cereal before walking over to the clubhouse. It was Ladies’ Poker Pool time!
We visited the Reader's Oasis Books
in our 2nd year down here
Brenda, Randy, Bill and I met Paul Winer, the then owner
Interesting place!
There
were 5 of us regulars and although one more player would be welcome, we aren’t recruiting
for anyone else. After Christmas, we’ll see if any others are interested and if
so, we’ll play in shifts if necessary. I am noticing each week that my pool shooting skills are improving. I never pocketed the cue ball once! 😃 Back home, I sat with Bill and Gibbs outside when I
returned and that sunshine was wonderful again. I think we may be on the good
side of this weather, finally. It’s what we come for.
Quite an improvement!
We have a house!
Our afternoon walk under this beautiful sky |
I know
there is some nasty weather all around both the US and Canada for the weekend
and hope that everyone is smart about travelling and being as safe as they can
be. Hopefully the unfortunate weather won’t last too long and you get where you
want to be. We, for sure, will be having not a ‘green’ Christmas but not a ‘white’
one either and that is just fine by us!
I peeked out the window while closing the blinds and had to go out and take these pictures Gorgeous! |
After lunch, I got serious about the puzzle since Patty needs the table for Christmas diners. I spent 3 hours and made huge progress today. Now I am confident that it will be done in a couple of days. 😊 Bill was happy that his parcel arrived so he worked on his fuel plane all afternoon.
supper turned out great Bill usually likes cheese with his apple pie but once I told him that this recipe called for cheese in between the apple layers, we had ice cream instead |
For supper, I baked one large pork chop, cooked a potato, squash
and corn. For dessert, we had a piece of my apple pie. It was yummy! Another great
day under our belt and another day closer to the big day.
A friend shared this Christmas
picture on Facebook and I thought it was cute.
good night!
Thank you
for stopping by.
Yup,looks like your weather is definitely improving—so kick back & enjoy.Merry Christmas
ReplyDeleteThank you! Merry Christmas to you!
DeleteOur weather here is just terrible this morning. (Friday) All schools are closed. Pearson airport is in a mess, no flights and angry people.
ReplyDeleteYour park looks very nice and has so many places to walk.
I'm so sad to hear what you are all dealing with back home and across the countries. Be safe and be grateful you are not travelling through airports. We are!
DeleteWhen you don't mention the morning weather temp, I know it's a warmer day.
ReplyDeleteI've got 12 days before I head south. I'm hoping all of the effects of these storms will be over by then. I need some heat!
Ha ha, one way to determine the weather, eh? It is warming up bit by bit each morning. I actually took my gloves off today!
DeleteI think you'll be fine to travel in 12 days, fingers crossed for a smooth departure.
Your puzzle is almost done!! Enjoy the warm-er weather ... better than snow in Canada!
ReplyDeleteYup! Thank you, it is beautiful here now!
DeleteI popped by from Jackie's I have always wanted to take an extended trip in an RV, just need hubby to retire. Merry Christmas!! It's snowing like crazy here in Southern Ontario.
ReplyDeleteHello and welcome, Gill! so nice to hear from new readers. This is the life we love, Ontario in the warm summer and Arizona in the warm winter. ♥ Stay safe in that weather and Merry Christmas!
DeleteAnother day of having fun! Glad your poker pool is a hit! Dinner looks yummy. Bet you're glad NOT to be home this year! Weather sounds horrible.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment, as always, Shirley. I'm pleased with the poker pool too! :) We are so very grateful not to be home in Ontario this winter! Yeuch!
