Park Place RV Park
On Tuesday, Nov. 12th we slept in. Tends to happen when Bill has a late night, he comes back to bed after taking Gibbs out and we go back to sleep. It was 7:30 by the time I got up, washed, dressed and ready to leave for my walk. That’s okay, we’re retired! 😊
Good morning!
It was
really calm first thing and 59F/15C so I didn’t need my heavy hoody, a couple
of lighter layers worked just fine. The sun is enough to warm a body up, as
does the steady walking pace. Bill was getting ready to leave for the field when
I returned so I unplugged from power (for the 8th, 9th, 10th
???) day in a row. The solar panels are working overtime, saving us $$. ♥
Some things never change.
Our little sweetie is one of them. 💕💕
By the way, Monkey has shed a few pounds and no
longer squeaks. It's okay, Gibbs still loves him a lot.
Bill had
a piece of 2” thick foam leftover from when he reupholstered our dining chair
cushions. Never get rid of anything just in case, right? He kneels a lot with
his hobby and it is hard on his knees to be on the gravel (or hard floor
surfaces, obviously). He cut the foam to size and asked if I could make a
covering for it so he could use it outside. Hmmm, of course, but I needed to
think on what to use.
I thought of Doug when I saw this motor home.
The back of it made me think White Lion.

Haven't had visitors yet, we'll see.
If I had
an old pillowcase, that would be easy but I couldn’t find one. The above rule
didn’t apply for those, I guess! I came across a burlap grocery-type bag under
the bed and the base of it was perfect! I didn’t want to mess up my sewing
machine by trying to sew burlap, plus I didn’t have a clue how I would do that
so….I cut it up and stitched it by hand. I added one of the straps to use as a
handle. I left it on his side of the table, made a bullet proof coffee and went
to the puzzle.
No judgement please.
I'm not great at stitching, sewing, what have you,
but it works and my pilot and his knees are happy.
What was
I thinking when I picked this one? LOL After finishing the border, except for
one piece (thank you Sheila for finding it for me), I was befuddled where to
begin. So many little animal faces, so many pumpkins, bats, spiders ----- eek! 😊 It is what puzzling is all about so I just started sorting a
few things by colour and went from there. It will indeed give me a good
challenge.
Thought I'd hang this towel this week.

Nashville.
At noon,
Bill and I finished up the leftover spaghetti and meat sauce from the other
night for lunch and while he and Gibbs dozed, I started my blog and walked back
to the craziness awaiting me. Ha! The puzzle is making me stew a fair bit but
it is entertaining and if I didn’t enjoy the chaos, I wouldn’t be doing it. Simple
as that. At 3:30, I saw that Bill was back from his time at Jim’s (he’s working
on a plane) so I walked back home. The nice thing about being close to the
clubhouse.
Yah, pretty slow at this one.
I'm entertained at least!
Gibbs and
I went for a walk inside the park and after a bit of a cleanup and change of
clothes, we left the Suite to meet our friends, Deb and Riley at Mountain Quail Café
for supper. 😊 They were waiting for us when we
arrived at 5 and we all got our hello hugs in first. The waitress felt left out
so Bill gave her a hug too. From that moment on, we barely stopped laughing. It
was such a fun get together.
We were
about to say our goodbyes when Bill saw
a fellow pilot and his wife about to walk inside. We greeted each other and
introduced them to Deb and Riley – well, that happened at least – before we
hugged, waved and both went our separate ways. This has been a good day, the
winds had died down again by nightfall and a cooler evening is at hand. We
reached 74F/24C today for our high.
Breaded shrimp, baked potato, green beans
lots of butter, sour cream and my
appetizer was vegetable beef soup.
A good meal for under $20 each.
Can't think of a better way to end an evening.

DeleteLook, I'm impressed you were able to hand sew through burlap. I'm thinking that must have been difficult. Adding the handle was a great idea. Makes it easier to carry if he has his hands full.

ReplyDeleteAt the dollar stores in Canada you can buy garden kneeling pads of various sizes, they do not require a cover of any kind. I usually have two of varying sizes, although I donated the bigger one a week or so ago to a mechanic for sitting or kneeling on the rocky areas of any repair job. They are fabulously handy.

Yes, I have a garden pad at home but this foam was sitting around and it is thicker than my pad. It worked well. Thanks Deb.

DeleteAhhh poor Monkey!! You really can't throw them away because they KNOW!! LOL. I can't believe you found a puzzle that's not easy for you!! When done, you can put that one away. I don't even want to TRY!! I know you'll finish it!
