Yacht Club, Rainbow Acres, Happy Hour

Park Place RV Park

On Friday, Feb. 7th I knew before I got out of bed that I was not going to walk this morning. Just as a precaution or preventative medicine, I guess. 😊 I made my tea when I came downstairs and sat with Gibbs while Bill got ready to go to the field. He doubted there would be any flying done; the temperature was nice at 60F/16C but the winds were a little high.

Good morning!
I take no credit for these pictures.
Bill slipped out and took them for me
before I even came downstairs. 💖💖

As it turned out, he was right, no one flew. He spent time with a pilot friend, helping him set up 3 planes, and said he’d be home by noon. I took Gibbs for a walk around the park perimeter and he decided on the longer route. That was okay, as it was better to walk a bit rather than none. I felt pretty good when I made my bp coffee and walked over to work on the puzzle.

It was a mixture of clouds and clear sky today.
The winds, as you can see by the 'telltale' flag,
were picking up.

I was a bit surprised to see 2 other ladies working on it when I walked in. One from the park behind us, she was there with her sister, a guest in this park. I don’t mind at all, I just sat down and carried on where I was working with them. 😊

At noon, I left the one sister to it and came home to have lunch with Bill. He surprised me and suggested we go out for lunch since we had running around up town. Our first thought was Mountain Quail Café but it was overloaded with people. We had a second choice and were happy to pull into an empty parking lot at the Yacht Club. They opened at 12 noon and it was 12:05.

At The Yacht Club, our waiter, Matt, was very
pleasant and told us the club is open for 2 months only.

We had the 2-pc. fish and chips special for lunch, knowing that it was to be our supper as well. I meant to order onion rings as a substitute but we placed our order quickly and I forgot! Bill was sweet enough to run after him later to see if I could substitute but it was too late so he ordered me a side dish anyway. Needless to say, everything tasted great and I brought home a piece of fish and some rings.

Some of our favourite homes at
Rainbow Acres.
Not all of them are this nice, nor are they all sticks and bricks.
Lots of rvs on purchased lots too.

With a quick stop at the Surplus store (for lack of a better name) I walked out with 6 Janet E’s books. They were $2 each. I’m slowly getting through the stories of Stephanie Plum. Next, we took a drive to Rainbow Acres, a residential RV-type neighbourhood to the west of I-95 and south of Main Street. It was a day of yard sales in the ‘park’ but we weren’t there to shop. We just drove around and admired some of the homes in this large community.

The drive to and from Rainbow Acres
took us back into the desert.
It is very pretty.

The white fluffy clouds add to the pictures,
I think.

We left there and, on the way, home we made a quick stop at Coyote Fresh for a couple of necessary food items. With just an hour and a half to spare, I walked to the puzzle to contribute, on my own this time.

I believe this will easily be finished in the morning,
but I can't take credit for all of it this time.

At 3, we drove out to Roadrunner to have Happy Hour with Ken, Kim, Duncan & Patty. K & K were moving on tomorrow so this was our last visit for a few weeks.

It was nice to see our friends again.

The drive home from Roadrunner,
I like how this cloud is hovering right over the mountain.
The shadow turns the mountain black.

We were back home just after 5 and I took Gibbs around the park. The ache I felt in my leg after sitting in the lawn chair for 2 hours dissipated as we walked. 😊 Bill and I decided we weren’t hungry for anything other than snacks tonight so had some potato chips with cheddar cheese. We watched the newest episode of NCIS:Sydney and then I watched Fire Country live as well. This has been a great day. We reached a high of 77F/25C and it did stay windy most of the day.

Good night!

Thank you for stopping by.

  2. Your weather now looks terrific & just improves-the Roadrunner area looks great if it does not get too dusty at times. The hip injection mentioned previously was no problem-hardly felt it plus kind of cool to see on the sonograph screen -a real improvement. All the best.

  3. One of these years I'm determined to eat at the Yacht Club. I keep missing out!! The food looks amazing! Probably a good idea not to walk for awhile, since you walk with Gibbs too. I'm not sure how I feel about someone else doing much of the puzzle, but they are for everyone I guess!! It's like someone reading the book you are reading, then telling you all about the ending! LOL. Scrutches to Gibbs!

  4. The sunrise photos, no matter who took them, are gorgeous. I don't have as nice a view.
I did chuckle at the thought of a Yacht club in Arizona. :)

  6. You have never been to our lot at Coppet Ridge. It's just like Rainbow Acres...some really cute houses...some "ok" houses...some lots with just RV's.

    1. Nice areas. Rainbow Acres is quite a distance from the flying fieldEben if we could afford it. 🤣

  9. Glad you two had such a nice day. Beautiful weather too. I've thought about buying an RV lot, so I don't have drive so far. Not sure if I will pull the trigger though.
