The Ridge
On Friday, July 18th I
as awake at 5:45 and seemed to be wide awake. I did go up to bed last night at 9:30, didn't even get my blog finished. I slept well but I know the hours were spent in dreams, one after the other it seemed.

Good morning!
Because I was not going to sleep anymore, I got up at 6:15 and came downstairs. Bill left at his normal time and I made my tea. It's nice on the mornings that I don't have to go anywhere at 7. 😀 I sat at my laptop and finished my post before moving on to my winter book.
It was coming along nicely and I was still sitting in my loungewear (fancy word for sweat pants and hoody) at 9:40 when M called for a ride to town. I knew it was a possibility but he wanted to wait until I was done cleaning the bnb.
The morning was chilly, 9C/49F, but the sky was clear and sunny. I can see that my grass needs to be cut but befoe 10, it is so wet with dew that it would be a challenge with my mower. Robin asked me to pick up cash from her place to pay Bill so I did that on my way to Williamsford at 11.

Nice to see a clear sky and smell
the fresh air, even though chilly.
It didn't last and it warmed up to 24C/76F.
The house took me longer to clean today, for one reason or another, and on my way home, at 1:15, I dropped the garbage and recycling bags off at Robin's. She also asked me to leave the 3 quilts and their shams at her place to wash.
I picked M up at 2 and did a 45 minute run into town. Just the Beer Store and Foodland today and I was home. I did not feel like cutting grass at this late time of day, I felt too tired aka lazy. 😂 I'd bought a big pack of pork ribs so split them up for the freezer. 3 nice size portions with lots of meat.

I love our pineapple corer but it hasn't been
used for a long time. Get a load of that
price. It was on the sales rack in produce.
Bill was home by 3:30 tonight and went over to the Acreage to get water. I just sat and finished my book until he returned for a quick snooze. We hopped on Jazz before 6 and drove to the Curling Club for the draw.

Riding on Jazz into town did not require leather, just helmets and long pants.
Well, well, well, Bill's #37 was drawn but it was someone else's ticket. Too bad, because that was where the Ace of Spades was hiding. The other fellow won $5,425. It's over for another 4 weeks.
Supper when we returned was toasted tomato sandwiches with ice cream for a follow up. The weather has been perfect all day, not too hot, full sun and a slight breeze off and on. This is how we wish it would stay. What a great day!
Not from tonight, but on Aug. 14, 2016 we had this gorgeous sunset. Good night!
Thank you for your visit.

Robin is certainly keeping you busy this summer. But not so much, that you don't have time for your hobbies.
ReplyDeleteSo far, yes, but it may slow down. I don't care if it doesn't slow down, I enjoy the job and the cash!!
DeleteWell that is just not fair ... calling Bills number but it wasn't his card? Though I love to just sit around, all that RUNNING round is good for you. Keeps you moving!!
ReplyDeleteI know!!! Yes, the running around does keep us moving............and young, right? hahahaha
DeleteDang, too bad Bill did not win. We cooled off here for a few days but the heat is back. Though now we are supposed to get some rain. Not complaining about the heat or the rain, as before too long something else could arrive.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Too bad is right! That $5,000 would have been great!
DeleteYou're right about the weather, blink and it changes!
