A Bit of This and That at Home

The Ridge

On Sunday, July 20th we were all able to sleep in.......but did we? Well, Gibbs had Bill up at usual alarm time of 5:30 and they both came back to bed. It was around 7 when we got up. No cleaning today and no flying.

Good morning!
Much of the first half of our day looked
like this.

It was a wet morning, and Bill said it really poured around midnight. I'm happy that I sleep through these overnight adventures. I have my own just in my dreams! I knew with the intermittent light rain showers that the grass would not get cut this morning.😗

When we're both inside, we're
not sure who/what he watches but
he sits there for a long time behind me.
Snuggle bum. 💘

I made my tea and sat with Bill and Gibbs. Bill is reading the J.A. Jance book I just finished, Judgement Call, and quite enjoying it. He likes her books too, the references to places we've been is quite fun!

And then, with an old toy (stogie)
in his mouth, he gets a boost up
into my chair where he can keep an eye
on Daddy too. Look at those eyes!

I worked on my winter book until it was finished but it took me over the lunch hour. At 12:30, it was done and I sent it off for processing. I use BookSmart still and although sometimes persnickety, I like the result.

After a sandwich, it had cleared up for the most part and the sun was making appearances. It started out coolish first thing but warmed up nicely to 23C/74F so out I went to cut the lawn. It took me the best part of an hour and I was sure hot by the time I finished. The reward is how it looks though.😀

There was the occasional ray of hope/sunshine,
but I waited until these dark clouds were
gone before I went out to cut.

I had my shower mid morning and should've waited but I truly didn't think the rain was going to stop. Oh well, I cooled down with Gibbs, sitting in the gazebo and when the bugs found me, we came inside. Bill was far behind me, feeling too tired to work in the Hangar. A lazy Sunday, it's nice.

There's hope!

I got out my quilling, why not? I wanted to make a greeting card, none I had pre-made were suitable for the occasion. Bill started a new Jance book in between dropping off for cat naps. 😉 He works hard all week, he can snooze anytime he wants!

Supper was good and we topped it off
with strawberries and whipped cream.
yum!

For supper, fish and chips and cauliflower for me. I did have some fries though, they always look so good on his plate! 💗 We cleaned up the few pots by hand and set the dishwasher to run. We've been unplugged from power this afternoon so trying to make up for those hot a/c days.

I was cleaning up pictures I had on my phone
today and came across this one.
Made me chuckle.
Then I deleted it.

We had a good day. Tomorrow I would like to visit Robin, if she is around, and give her my creations. I'm excited for her to see them, but I'll be sad to see my pelican leave the house! 😅 I hope you had a great weekend.

And lastly..........
Good night!

Thank you for stopping by.

    1. Yup, he sure keeps his eyes out for Chippy. And don't even mention geese!

  3. Gibbs is such a character. Our pets have routines too. My cat takes my spot on the bed as soon as I get out of bed. :)

  4. Those were some dark clouds. We had those type roll in around 7 at night and then a storm to the north of us. We did get more rain though which is always appreciated. I love the final saying, probably because my singing voice leaves a great deal to be desired.

    God bless.

    1. Just a lot of rain around and I appreciated it very much. Of course, I could almost hear the grass growing even more! haha
