Home Again, Jiggity Jig

Blue Mountain to the Ridge

On Friday, Sept. 12th, it was time to pack up and head home. Check out was 11 and I full well know that it is important to be out! We left the place as we found it and jammed, literally, jammed things into Ptooties' trunk. Remember we all bought extra things that had to fit as well. 🤭

Good morning!
This was home for a few days.

We are determined and
got everything in!

There were no more stops along the way so we beelined it at a pleasant pace towards the Ridge. Bill had plans today with Peter, a flying friend, so I knew they would be gone for the morning at least. He asked if we would be able to let Gibbs out IF he wasn't home when we arrived.

This was a delicious Benedict.
The egg was cooked perfectly.

We did get her around noon so let the little guy for a piddle before we drove into town to have lunch. I also wanted to show the girls, Gayle and Audrey especially, 'my' little town of Durham. 😊 We chose Mama D'z for brunch and it was very good.

Two of the stops in Durham

I had the Eggs Benedict, you can tell it is a favourite of mine, with home fries. Yum. We left there and toured Rethreads and Going Once, Going Twice (thrift stores) and then crossed to the market place of consignment vendors called All Under One Roof.

Sometimes you find the sweetest things.
In my case today, it was just memories.
Look below to see what brought back one
of my teens, and a game with my big brother.

They enjoyed that last place very much. From there, one last stop at Chicory Common, our health food store. It was a hit. Audrey had a nice chat with the owners and I discovered that I could set up a table behind their store in the parking lot and sell my 'wares' for free any Saturday and Sunday. 🤔😉

Bruce and I played this game endlessly.
I miss him, I would like to share this memory
with him.
The bottom is a pillow my daughter would love.
I didn't buy it. Sorry, Bridgette.

It won't be this year, but that is something I will plan for in the 2026 summer year. I drove the girls to the Acreage where their hubbies were waiting with open arms. Well, you get the picture. I couldn't get out of there quick enough to get home for my hug and licks from Gibbs. 💕🐕

Then I drove the ladies home.
Ptooties did a great job.
370 km and only half a tank of fuel.
My sisters were very kind and footed the bill
for the fillup.

I was exhausted in a sated kind of way. Bill had been trimming/cutting more down the lane and the area was looking wonderful. Still branches to pick up over the weekend, if and when we get time. I was too tired to unpack, and sadly, my sciatica has just started making my leg numb again. 😡 Bummer.

I think someone is showing off for me.
I missed his little performances and cuddles.
Yes, I missed Bill's too. 😂

I wasn't hungry for supper and Bill only wanted a sandwich and then we hopped on Jazz to go to Catch the Ace. No luck but the Ace of spades is still out there. Yay! I didn't do anything else all evening but sit and watch an episode of Bones before I went to bed at 9:30. That was it!

There won't be many (if any) more
rides on Jazz so it was nice to take
her into town.

It was a lovely day, reaching a high 23C/72F. As with all trips away from the Ridge, it is always great to drive up the lane to your home. This was no different. I had a wonderful time with my sisters. Next year, we will be 5 again. 💞

I actually caught the sun drop
tonight.
Good evening!

Thank you for stopping by.
