A Quiet Morning at Home, Then Pokeno and Rain

 Park Place RV Park

On Tuesday, Nov. 18th we woke up and promptly closed windows. Temperatures are slowly becoming more 'winterish', dropping last night to 57F/12C, and today only reaching 65F/16C (if we make it). It was cloudy and felt cool.

Good morning!

Bill left for the flying field after his shower and I just stayed put, here at home with Gibbs. I did get the vacuum out after having some steel cut oats for my breakfast. We need milk so Bill had to have toast instead of his cereal.

Let's go down the road, Mom

I wanted to perk up the hat I made for Donna so Googled how to make a flat circle. It has been a while since I've crocheted so needed the help to re-acquaint myself with the hook and the yarn. I won't show you what I did because it will be a surprise.

The sky was most of the untold story
today. Not many pictures were taken
that didn't involve clouds.

Bill was home from Jim's just after lunch and right away I hopped in the truck and he drove me up to Family Tree. The purse/satchel I bought yesterday ($2.97!) still had the plastic clip on it that beeps when you leave the store. The cashier thought she'd removed it. 😕 Of course, they had to do that.

Just a peek of a rainbow
after 3 pm.

So, I picked up some mouthwash and milk while there and showed proof of purchase and today's cashier clicked it off. We had lunch together and I took my pennies over to play Pokeno. Bill went back to Jim's to work on the plane he is interested in.

I had a feeling it would be a challenge
but didn't expect the house siding
would stump me like it is.

I was happy to see Bj drive by and Sue was ready to play too. Renee, a new player, was easily talked into sitting down to play as well. Sue and I set her up with enough pennies to start. I think she'll be back. 😀

Those are some heavy clouds
hanging over the mountains.

We played 2 full games with guess who winning the black out both times? Yes, my penny jar was full to the brim. I stayed and worked on the puzzle after our games and worked on the puzzle until 4 o'clock.

I walked back at 4
and the sky looked like this.

During that time, we had more rain and even a wee sighting of a partial rainbow. Back home, Bill and Gibbs were gone for their walk. It was off and on again with rain showers but other than clouds for the rest of the evening, the precipitation had ended.

Looking to the west
just before supper.

We caught up on The Voice episodes that we've missed while I had my tea and bided our time until supper. I chose sausages with potatoes and vegetables for supper but with the weather, I used Rosy to air fry the pork.

Bill snoozed and Gibbs just
sat pretty for the camera.
💘

The sausages were delicious! Well, actually the whole meal was very good. We cleaned up the pots and watched the NCIS and NCIS:Origins episodes on Live tv. This was a low key day but a good one. We did manage to reach the forecasted high after all.

Supper was good.
Good night!

Thank you for stopping by.

  1. We had rain here off and on all day. And more overnight. I haven't checked the patio but assume I'll be sweeping water off it later this morning. One of our residents captured a gorgeous photo of a rainbow arcing over the park.
I turned on the furnace last night and heard it cut in a few times. I keep it at 65F overnight, and felt I needed to warm it up a little more this morning to take off the chill. At least there is no snow, right? :)

    1. Yes, the rain continued through the evening for us too, after I finished my blog.
It is the dampness that makes us want the furnace on but so far, we've not turned ours on. Yes, MUCH better than snow!

  2. You better hang on to all those pennies. They are no longer being made, so don't spend them anywhere. Of course I love the Gibbs pictures, but every time I see that quilt, I think of your Mother and her big smile.

    1. Even the American pennies? Guess I didn't hear that.
Thank you for saying that about the quilt and Mom. It is exactly why I loved it so much. ❤️💕

  3. None of our friends back in the frozen north will care but I agree our temperatures have turned "winterish". I thought 90 was a little to hot but the 80's were not bad. What we need is those 70's to stick around...lol I have to admit, though, I did enjoy yesterday's skies. Nancy is right hang on to those pennies the last of them were minted this month.

    1. You're right, Deb. Our friends will say 'they are never satisfied'. haha. That's okay, weather is a topic of conversation and we may be wearing long pants for a few days, winter is arriving soon!
Interesting about the pennies, I'll have to keep on winning!

  4. No rain here today really, but this morning was very foggy and once that disappeared it seemed to be kind of misty out. We are above freezing, but the temperature is falling. Yep, I read that this was the last minting of pennies in the United States.

    God bless.

  5. Everyone saves pennies. That's why there was never enough. Over three and a half cents to make one penny. Says they're saving a bunch of money, but they spend so much on ridiculous BS that eliminating some of those would be enough to keep minting the penny. It's really about the DIGITAL ID and getting rid of cash. Please everyone, get some cash and USE IT or LOSE IT FOREVER! Of course the cards are easier. It's what they want. To See Everything You Do.
