The Ridge
So, when I woke up at 6:30 on Tuesday, May 5th, I was quite surprised. I should have been in muscle pain agony but I wasn't! I did do a couple of the preventative stretches last night before sleep, so that is what I give credit to. It works!

Good morning.
Starting today with last night's
sunset.
My fingers are a bit achy from the branch trimming and gathering but not my back! I'll have to try to find exercises for thoses too! 🤠After Bill said goodbye and we watched him leave out my bedroom window, Gibbs and I conveniently cuddled in a sleep stupor until 7:15.

Do not disturb.
Blue Jays in conference.
I had my tea and some oatmeal with unsweetened cocoa (lowers cholesterol - yes, mine is up) and got dressed for the outdoors. It wasn't expected to be warm like yesterday, in fact about 10 degrees cooler with clouds and possible rain was on the menu. Bummer.

The book I've started reading.
Still a few of hers that I haven't read.
I saw no rain out there so Gibbs and I went out to carry (lug is a better word) my 8 garden bags up the berm hill to the garden plot. Only one was a real challenge; I guess I put too much dirt in it. Once situated, I climbed into the dump trailer and tamped down the brush to make room for more.

I moved my garden bags
up here. That little tree
may provide 'some' shade.
That worked quite well and I was able to finish the pile from the berm apple trees. Now, that should be one load for the dump on Saturday morning. It would be nice to get two done and maybe a third. 🤔 I don't clean that morning so maybe......?

A full trailer and lots of brush
left to go.
There wasn't much else we could do outside so we came in and I made my coffee. It is a good day to do some more quilling, I've missed it but still like to be outside when it is possible. At 12:30, I made myself a poached egg on toast and it was very good. The bright yellow yolks in these fresh eggs are quite tasty!
Gibbs and I bundled and walked down to 'get the mail', or at least to check. There was nothing but in that 10 minutes, our little imp managed to get into the ponds edge for a drink and then run the gamut of the back field. Just close enough to the neighbour's (& our) fence.
For your entertainment.
I had to use force in my voice "Come here!" to which he obeyed. What a guy. No one is home over there, but we don't want him to get used to going that close to their property. it was a cool walk but refreshing at the same time and we came right back in.

I went back to quilling on a new piece and it was a quiet afternoon. I tried to put a movie in but so many remotes, so many buttons that I couldn't seem to get it to work! So frustrating - it isn't the first time. We've never liked this set up of the dvd player/tv 'thing'.

A few decorations up on the
outhouse and I moved my
'Sunflower for Daddy' into this
little corner.
So, instead, I searched and found a Julia Roberts movie called Eat, Pray, Love. I may have seen it years ago but couldn't remember a lot about it. I know I've probably read the book too. Anyway, it was quite enjoyable and passed the time.
Bill was home just after 4:30 and Gibbs couldn't be happier. 😉 He loves when his family is all together again. It warmed up as the day went on, with it being the warmest at 4 pm when it reached 10C/50F. Clouds ruled the day until after we ate.

Any guitar enthusiasts interested
in a ticket?
Supper was chicken pot pies. Bill had fries with his and I had squash with mine. We skipped dessert tonight, saving the last of the cheesecake for tomorrow. Everything tasted good although it wasn't all done at the same time. I miss my oven.
It was a nice day with a little more clean up done on the property. Blue Jays had a meeting here this morning, under the feeders but they didn't stay long. Still no Orioles or hummingbirds but I'm not surprised. The weather is confusing them!
I hope you had a nice day, thank you for following along.

Your new posts are not showing up in my blog roll for some reason. Blogger playing around once again I guess.
ReplyDeleteGibbs sure keeps you busy.
God bless.
Huh, that's odd. Do you need to 'follow' me again? Not sure why that happens but happy to see you!
