The Ridge
On Thanksgiving Monday, Oct. 12th we are nearing the end of our visits. Today was important as well, driving a total of 6 hours to see Marilynne, my m.i.l. She lives in a retirement apartment complex and when we said we were coming, she arranged for a nice lunch.

Good morning!
For the 4th time in 5 days,
Ptooties takes us through
Durham's main intersection.
Marilynne was in the hospital in Fort Erie for 2 weeks beginning just before Sept, 19th and has been home for almost 2 more. At 91 (Nov. 8th), having congenital heart disease and respiratory problems is a really big concern. We are grateful to see her doing really well.

A couple of views along the way.
The sun fights to come out.
The clouds are winning.
The drive was long, yes, but the visit necessary and totally worth it. We had lunch in the little dining room and went upstairs to her apartment for about an hour before saying goodbye around 1 pm. Ann next door was letting Gibbs out around noon since we left at 8 am.

Lots of activity on the
Burlington Bay Canal
I llike how the sun peeks through
a couple of holes and shines on the water.
We are also very grateful for our neighbours on both sides of us. We were home, safely, by 4:15 after fueling up Ptooties for the second time in 24 hours! We'll probably do it again before the week is done with another trip tomorrow.

The traffic was on and off, so much for the holiday meaning less vehicles on the highway. 🤷♀️

My work schedule (set by me) was to clean this morning but because we left so early, I think I mentioned that last night Bill and I stopped for a quick check before coming home. We picked up floor garbage and it looked pretty good. So, today when we got home, I changed and zipped back in to the Mat.

Toasted western w/ Chicken vegetable soup, and lemon pie and a deep-fried pastry. All very good.
It was a good thing, the floor was messy (again), and needed attention. I quickly took care of the dryers and wiped out all the machines. Before I left, there were 6 customers which explains why I don't go in the evening. I was back home by 5:30.

My pictures are not coming
out very clear, maybe my tripod
is too far.
Bill was dropping off in his chair (no surprise there) with Gibbs keeping watch over him, so I waited until 6 to start supper. 🥰🐶 We decided on fish filets with fries and onion rings tonight. The fish would not be allowed across the border.

On the way home, the
traffic still had its moments.
Supper was good and we were all cleaned up by 7 pm. We've been washing dishes by hand to save a bit on our water, now that the pump at the Acreage is shut down. We do know that we could top up if necessary from Dot and Gord. They have been very generous in that regard.

One of those fluffy skies
that I love.
It was a long day, tiring but a very good visit with Marilynne. Gibbs was good at home, ate all his supper when we returned and we had a nice evening together - trying to stay awake until at least 9:30! It was a good day weatherwise too.

The sun was setting within
half hour of me getting back
from town.
There was quite a bit of fog as we started the drive but we were actually warmer here at home than in Fort Erie.

There he is, our good little boy.
Priceville reached 20.5C/69F feeling like 26C/78.8F with the humidity. It won't last much longer so we're happy to accept and enjoy it when it comes!
Thank you for stopping by!
