Quoting a Blogger Friend “Another Day in Paradise”, One Year Old! ♥

La Posa South, Quartzsite, AZ On Saturday, Jan. 8th, we all got up together. Bill had taken Gibbs out at 6:30 and then at 7:30 we were slept out. Gibbs and I went for our first Quartzsite walk this year. I never know what direction to go but it doesn’t take long to find a route. We came as close as we (I) dared to the Magic Circle. It’s too early to see the ‘unclothed’, especially before I’d even had my caffeine!
After a beautiful shade of red, the sun popped It’s kind of like being outside the fence at Pilot Knob, with the hard-packed stony ‘desert’. No bushes, no goat heads to get caught in his feet although there are wee little prickly thistles in certain areas. Luckily, I can see where they are and keep him steered away. ๐Ÿ˜Š He walks quite well on his retractable leash when it is just the two of us and understands “Wait!” when I want to stop and get a picture.
Gibbs is reading the sign too, he's the only one willing to go unclothed though.
I stopped to read the notice. It's quite nice of someone to do this for others. Sorry for the blur. Parker and Blythe are a distance to drive, hence the donation requests. Reasonable.
A stone labyrinth maze. This one was easy.
Gibbs found a big hardwood stick to bring home. Back home, I’d decided I was having my tea outside on the patio. First time…..um, in over a month. Bill came out with his and I got our Christmas gift to each other out from the ‘basement’. It was the first time we opened up our director chairs and we found them to be quite comfortable. A firm seat and low back makes us sit properly and not slouch like our bigger pouch chairs do. Bill didn’t sit though; he was busy connecting our sun shade to the awning and securing it.
Pretty smart cookie, he is. He soon veered off the road in the direction of home. I soon had my jacket off and sleeves rolled up, that sun at 55F/13C was very hot. ♥ There were a couple of other things Bill wanted to do and then we had grilled cheese sandwiches around 11 and drove into town. Just a quick in and out, he went to K & B tools down Main St. and right across the parking lot I went into Ken’s Grocery Store. There were two tents, one with food where I only found a jar of sliced dill pickles for our burgers, and one with odds and ends, all for $1. I found a few things in there.
I'm not the only one happy with the warmth.
We stopped at RV Lifestyles for a new hot water heater element since the one Bill ordered for delivery before we left home didn’t seem to be doing the job. We want hot not warm. Duh! Something wasn’t right so if it isn’t the element, it might be a thermostat. RV Lifestyles has them if that is the case. That was it, we were ready to head home and enjoy the day. So, that is what we did. I’m into my Lee Child book about Jack Reacher and hate to put it down.
Bill heard and recognized the sound of this paraglider.
Our Christmas gifts ♥ The sun just got hotter as the day went on and this girl isn’t complaining. We reached 73F/23C today at least but it felt more like 80F sitting on our patio. B-U-T-ful! Gibbs and Bill were outside for a lot of the day as well, the former had a chewy Bully stick that kept him entertained for hours. Bill experimented for a while with him off the leash and he didn’t even notice; he was so intent on burying and then digging up his stick. ๐Ÿ˜Š
This is Ken's Grocery Store, cheap boxed and canned foods. Just check the expiry dates before you buy.
Yay! Thg big tent is up! The afternoon went swimmingly without any pool involved. I felt so happy and relaxed. No pesky flies and other than atvs and vehicles going by on the roads around us, we were alone in our world. There is something to this boondocking thing. The nice thing is, even when our friends arrive, we know how to stay out of each other’s way so everyone experiences the same peaceful stay. We look forward to seeing them pull in here whenever they can.
Some rv'ers are very territorial and have 'laneways' and even property boundaries. They have more desire to move rocks than I do!
To each his own out here, we all have our own idea of what is 'home' away from home. For supper, Bill barbecued Mild Italian sausages and I put together a garden salad, using up the lettuce which doesn’t last long in the fridge. It was very filling and very good. After dishes, Bill set the tv up to record a movie and we just read our books together. He is into a James Patterson book. Gibbs doesn’t read so he just sleeps on the floor or on our laps. Sometimes, he needs to play ‘chase the rope’ so we take turns with that.
Tonight's supper, sausages on the Weber Q
I expected the sunset to more spectacular after this display, but it just dropped below the horizon with no fanfare tonight. A wonderful day in Paradise here too! An important little event today out in Alberta. Our youngest granddaughter, Hadley Rose, turns all of ONE!! Happy Birthday you sweet little child. Grandma and Grandpa love you! ♥ Before it got too late, we had a facetime call with Jess, Easton and of course, the happy birthday girl. ♥♥
Happy Birthday, 1 year old! Good night! Thank y’all for stopping around.

    1. We have been using our gas water heater so we have hot water. We'll only use the electric when we're hooked up.
      Thanks Doug.

  6. I'm getting nervous. Not sure how I'm going to do with this boondocking stuff. You guys make it look so easy and I have so much to learn. Apparently I need to buy some books to read to take the place of TV. Be ready for a million questions! LOL

    1. Don't be nervous, Bill will have a lot of answers and so will Tom and Deb. :) It's a great way to learn and if we have anything you need, you're welcome to it. I have lots of books, depending on your reading pleasure, of course. We're ready for you! :)

  8. Try wrapping your lettuce in tin foil. I wrap my romaine in tin foil and it lasts a long time. A friend here in the building suggested this trick.

    1. Oh, thank you Suzie! I'll try that with the head I buy. I've used paper towels with everything else but it doesn't do much for lettuce. Thanks for the tip!

  10. The last time I went on a spiritual retreat I used a labyrinth as a tool for prayer.

Hadley Rose is a little darling.

    God bless.
