Pretty Sky and Warm Day

Park Place RV Park

On Thursday, Jan. 22nd we were up at starting our day by 7 am. It was a good night's sleep, even Gibbs can attest to that. Bill and Gibbs took their ride around the park, making sure everything was secure.

Good morning!

I walked over before 9 with my quilling supplies, thinking I may start on one of two projects if I didn't feel like working on the puzzle. 😂 Fred and Sue had an appointment today so asked if we'd help them out by filling in.

Fluffy Gibbs shows us what is
left of his ball.
Good morning from him too!

We had one arrival and 2 departures, a nice and easy day. Now that the RV & tent show is rounding the corner to the end date on Sunday, things are slowing down. More people leaving than arriving and now requests are easier to answer.

Walking over to the clubhouse
at 9.

I started one of the projects but heard the puzzle calling me. this is a really nice one and I'm enjoying the steady pace. Bill did some raking on the two sites after the guests left and will do the same tomorrow.

I love the sky changes
so I hope you do too.

He took Gibbs for a walk after lunch and when the office closed at 4 pm, we returned home to Gibbs. We are waiting for one last package from Amazon and Bill has been keeping an eye on its movements. They seem to go all over the place and finally reach us - on the forecasted day.

At the end of the day,
the puzzle was 3/4 done.
I love this one too!

For supper, Bill cleaned up the last of the chicken casserole, but not until he returned from his night flying. Fred was back to resume duty, in case he is needed, while my pilot is away. 😉 I didn't eat, my cup of tea at 4 was enough to fill me until snack time at Game night.

Walking over for game night,
this was my cover-all

Bill left for the field around 5:30 and at 6, I was joining the girls. Tonight, we played Yahtzee. I'm sure you all remember that game from your youth. It was another fun evening and shot/taster glasses of Linda's Seagram's 'Jamaica Me Happy' coolers were shared with popcorn. I was home by 9.

Even pretty from an 'in-town' kind of view

It was a really good day. I was 100% free of  discomfort and can't for the life of me figure what changed. Who cares? I'll take the good days as often as they come and you don't have to listen to me complain. I watched the end of a movie with Bill until almost 10, I think, and went to bed.

We had a pleasant semi-cloudy day of 72F/20C so no complaints! Home is still getting hammered with bad weather. 🤔😢

Renee showed up in her
uber/taxi cap to offer a ride
on her quad - if we needed it.
She is such a card.
Good night!

Thank you for your visit.

Started a New One, Busy Coffee Hour!

Park Place RV Park

On Wednesday, Jan. 21st, I'm almost afraid to say it aloud. I felt awesome! I did my stretches and waited after making the bed. Nada, nothing, zilch. Ssssh. 🤫

Good morning!
At 7 am, this greeted us.

Bill was downstairs in the dark when I came down at 7 and started opening blinds. He catches up on FB and news chatter down here when it is quiet.

Clouds moved in

He left for the field and after making my tea, I sat with Gibbs to play my Wordle games. It was 8:30 when I was washed and properly dressed to go for Gibbs' walk. Brrr, that air felt chilly. It was only 44F/6C under a mostly cloudy sky.

The puzzle I chose next

I took my prepared coffee cup (I like my own 35% cream) and walked over to Coffee & Conversation at 8:50. Sue had made her yummy cranberry muffins for our snack today. Good thing she made lots as the turnout was the best yet. 16 or 17 of us, I believe. 😃

We had to park in the
'back 40' as Daddy used to say.

It is especially nice to have short-timers come in and join.  Bill was back from the field early, are we all feeling the chill air? Not many fliers and after his 2 flights, he returned home. I was still at the puzzle until just before lunch.

Walking first through the tent
and then Tyson Wells.
Bill is happy with his licorice
purchase.

After we ate, we drove to the Big tent and had a very tough time finding a parking spot. We ended up west of Tyson Wells, in the overflow section. Luckily, close to Keuhn St. as after leaving the tent with yak cheese bones for Gibbs, a pillow for Bill and rv tank 'stuff', we walked through the vendors at Tyson Wells.

I had my ice cream
and it was worth every penny.

Bill got his licorice and I bought an ice cream cone. First that I've had since we got down here! We've been very good not having any the freezer. At home, I went to the puzzle and stayed for an hour or so and Bill took Gibbs for his walk and they had a snooze.

I made good progress.

Supper was leftover chicken casserole with mashed potatoes and peas. We finished the last 4 dinner rolls from the freezer. I'll have to make more and freeze them again, that worked well for us as a treat once in a while instead of eating them all at once!

Ring around the sun.
A weather change is around the corner.
(PS - still no snow though)

We enjoyed the meal and cleaned up the dishes before settling in front of the tv. I found a movie called Home Run and that was my entertainment during my blog writing.

Supper was good.
Good night!

This was a good day. We didn't get much above 70F/19C if we reached that but it was still very pleasant.

Thank you for stopping by.

Enjoying our Days Around Home

Park Place RV Park

On Tuesday, Jan. 20th, I almost think it is my favourite day. At least of this week. It feels good to wake up with no commitments in the morning. Monday, Wednesday and Friday are walk days, if I feel like it and I do at least try to be up and ready for those.

Good morning! (here in Quartzsite)

Our friend, Pat, said
this is what they got overnight.
LOL
I'm glad she has someone cleaning
her sidewalk and driveway.

Thursday, this week, we are filling in for Sue and Fred as they received a last minute dr's appointment. We don't mind, we can easily be here except for Bill's night flying......We will just switch Sunday with them and all is good. They have a busy day today, 8 or 9 new arrivals!

The smoke is far enough away,
it isn't affecting us at this point,

Bill left for the field before 8:30 while Gibbs and I hung here. I had my tea and then got out the vacuum and dust mitt. With the Suite floors done and some countertops dusted, Gibbs and I went for his walk.

The sky is fully blue with gorgeous sun shining down on us.  There was a cooler breeze and my one layer of cotton on my arms was barely doing the job of keeping me warm. When we returned, I slipped another sleeved shirt on as well and walked to Family Dollar, Ironwood Outpost (mail) and DG Market.

Walking back from the market.

By then, I was perfectly warmed up. I needed some cream of chicken soup for a recipe and refuse to pay over $2 if I don't have to. I found half of what I needed at FD and walked across the highway (E.Main St.) to the DG M. I'm seldom pleased here and today was no exception.

It was a nice walk
on a lovely day.

They had none of my whipping cream either and many shelves were bare. ??? One cashier with 7 in line so I put the little wooden $3 decoration for crafting back on the shelf and walked out. Neither store had retractable leashes to replace the one that broke......LOL

This Saguaro has new growth on top.
With so many dying, that is always
exciting to see.

I walked home and messaged my Sweetie about cream and told him I picked up his package at Ironwood so he didn't have to stop. He left the field and drove to Parker Hospital to pick up our receipt/document regarding the charges from his eye damage. So long ago!!

It was a good walk; I've been so slack, and since by 9:30 I was feeling good, I could see no need to cancel my plans. Back home by 11, an hour later, I made a coffee and proceeded to put together a chicken casserole for supper. Now that I had the cream of chicken soup, I could finally do that.

Chicken casserole.

Bill wasn't back by noon so I went ahead and made my lunch sandwich. I had Pokeno at 1 pm. and walked over a few minutes before. It was nice to see Linda had arrived and Tom had just pulled in with Deb. We were all wondering when she'd be back for 'her' pennies. 😉

The games were fun, one new participant, Georgia, caught on quickly. She was right in there with the banter and laughter. There were 8 of us today and although I was dropping pennies like crazy, I did win the first Blackout giving me almost full cards from everyone. Yay!

The joke was that my lucky charm walked in - namely Bill - at just the right time. I AM lucky indeed.

These big rigs have it all under
control.
Fun to watch. Bill helped back them in to
their sites.

We parted ways around 3ish and when I returned, Bill was helping Fred park 2 Class A motor homes with long trailers and side by sides just down our row. They were together and #'s 5 & 6 out of today's arrivals.

I took Gibbs for his walk around the park and then we sat outside and waited for Bill to return. What seems like a lot of trouble to me, unloading, unhooking and parking, for 5 days must come naturally to these rv'ers. They've been doing it for so long

This is looking northeast.

I made a tea and we came inside. So far, a great day with a lovely temperature of 74F/21C. We have nothing to complain about. The smoke to the west, what started as a controlled burn may have gotten 'out of control', (no one really is sure) but we're just grateful we're far enough away not to smell it here.

My view to the west sunsets
is still better from the window.

Supper was the chicken casserole and I'm always skeptical when I make a new-to-me recipe. That makes it a new-to-Bill recipe too and he is a guinea pig more often than not. It turned out pretty good, at least a meal with leftovers and I pulled a few of my dinner rolls out of the freezer.

This is when being out in the
boonies (boondocking) is
appreciated.
Good night!

There were no dishes to be hand-washed but the dishwasher ran during the evening. I hope you have all had a good day, as we have.

Thank you for your visit.

The Week Begins the Fun, A Bit of Genealogy, A Birthday

Park Place Rv Park

On Monday, Jan. 19th I didn't drag myself out of bed until 7 even though I was awake at 6:30. Gibbs was dutifully waiting until I gave the indication I was fully awake. Okay, time for that cuddle-bum to greet me.

Good morning!

Bill was getting his breakfast and emptying the dishwasher when I came down. After he was done in the bathroom, he left and I hopped in the shower. We are looking at yet another lovely day, with clear skies in the forecast and a high of 74F/22C There is a slight breeze but Bill went flying.

Ladies poker pool

I had my half grapefruit and a cup of tea before taking Gibbs for his walk. That gave my fine thin hair a chance to dry before going out into the chilly 41F/9C. It doesn't take long but heeding Mom's words, 'don't go outside in the winter with wet hair', I waited. I'm a good girl. 😉

When you have a dog,
every chair has to be big enough for two.

At 9:15, I took a prepped coffee mug and my cue stick to meet 6 other ladies for poker pool. It's Monday so let the games begin! We had a lot of fun, welcoming our newest player, Stephanie, into the fold. It isn't really about skill, because our skill level comes and goes but we do enjoy the banter.

Back home at noon, Bill had not yet returned so I made my sandwich and started. I was hungry, worked up an appetite, obviously! He wasn't long arriving after that and then we just hung out. Bill and Gibbs dozed but I'm most comfy in my dining chair.

My family books and
a few sweet pictures of
Mom and Daddy
💖

I have been reading through my sister's 2 family books and getting a refresher course of Mom and Daddy's history. I had pushed much of this information into the back recesses of this brain but I'm happy to bring it out to the forefront again.

Our happy hour entertainment

I love seeing pictures of our parents, and my siblings and I from those days. Three things of interest: my Great Grandmother on Mom's side was scheduled to come to Canada from England to be with her husband on April 10th, 1912. Her passage was the maiden voyage of the Titanic.

Happy Hour
before Sarah and Ainsley
fly home.

Last day or so before departure, one of her 3 children became ill and they postponed the trip. Just thinking about what all that could have meant, moving forward, proves how very fortunate we all can be without even realizing it. I get goosebumps.

How's that for a sky.

My Grandfather did fight in WWI and because of carrying a metal tobacco tin in his left shirt pocket, was saved from a bullet. Again, history could have been different there too.

In my dad's history, his father died at age 62, leaving the farm parcel to Daddy at age 15. There were 4 other brothers who all got portions of the original 200-acre property. Quitting school was not the only result, all brothers would not join the forces of WWII because of their responsibilities at home.

There was a controlled burn
north of Lake Havasu this afternoon
and we could see some smoke
hanging in the north and east sky

My little sister, Wendy, did a wonderful job of documenting this history in her Blurb books and that is where I got the idea to create the travel journals I make every summer. Today, rather than traveling out to Roadrunner blm for Happy Hour, Ken, Kim, Sarah and little Ainsley came here. 😃

I took him for a walk after H.H.
Apparently, he was worn out.

They arrived shortly after 3 and we had a really nice visit. Ainsley was entertainment, and Gibbs behaved 'mostly' like a gentleman. He was very good even though he has never been around little people much before. 💕

Trying to see over the
tops of the rv's.

For supper, Bill grilled sausages and we had them on bakery buns that we purchased at Walmart. Different ones, that were best heated lightly in the microwave.

These sausages were good tonight.

They were quite good and filling. I finished my blog while watching Gilmore Girls.

Pink mountains again

Into Season 5 now and Loreli and Luke are dating so this is getting even more interesting. It's fun remembering. Today was warm but a bit windy. We reached the temperature goal but our nights are still dropping to low 40's/5C.

So, inside the Suite, it was
almost a better view.

Today, help me wish my son-in-law a happy birthday. Chris entered our family a year and a half ago and we couldn't be happier.

Happy birthday, Chris!

He is making my daughter very happy. I haven't heard that his card arrived yet but hope it isn't too late.

I didn't take this one but
it was so pretty of tonight's sky
that I stole it from Facebook.
Good night!

Thank you for popping by.

Things are Slowing Down

 Park Place RV Park

On Sunday, Jan. 18th our day started at 7. I had a good sleep, with dreams but still a good one. I think someone famous was in one but I don't remember who she was now. 🤔

Good morning!

I joined Bill in sorting dirty laundry and by 7:30 we had 2 machines loaded. This is the first time we had all of our orange towels out with the new mat in the bathroom. That is why I took a picture. We are very happy with our Christmas gifts to ourselves.

Our bathroom is decked
out in orange this week.

When I walked over to switch machines, I took my tray and the quilled leaves I made yesterday. I had an hour to work on the wall picture before the office opened. I like the peace and quiet. With the clothes dried and folded, I continued to place leaves on the metal.

This is the wall picture I've been working
on. It is metal and all gray in colour.
I've  been adding colour.
I think it turned out quite nice.

It was looking great but I needed to take a picture so I knew what was needed to finish it. I returned home, put my clothes away, took Gibbs for his walk around the little block and went back with the paper strips to get it done. It was shortly after 11:30 when I had it done. I love it and I think Sue will too.

Mid morning, a pretty sky

Bill and I had lunch together and just relaxed for the afternoon. There was a football game on in the clubhouse (not my thing) and a ukelele jam (also not my thing) so I didn't even think about starting a puzzle.

Bill was the man this afternoon.
It was a quiet time.

Angie and Leesa felt the need to find a puzzle for me........weird.....but I may switch it out tomorrow or Tuesday before starting it. Since I did it in 2023, and with my memory, what's old could be new? Although, I do like choosing my next challenge.🤭

Supper was very good.
Erma's tip on the rice?
Rinse it well first, then cook it like pasta.
Drain, add butter and let sit.
Awesome!

Bill was home for lunch and after it was done, we relaxed together. Gibbs slept in the chair, Bill was doing some reading for the club and I started my blog and began thinking about my next creation for Robin. I made my tea and sat under the gazebo.

Around supper time, the east
sky.

My sciatica has been rearing its ugly head over the last few days, yes, I'm taking Magnesium 500 mg, so Bill obliged by taking Gibbs for his walk when I'm feeling it. For supper, we had chicken thighs air fried by Rosy, steamed asparagus, mixed vegetables and rice cooked Erma's way! Delicious!

It was very filling and after washing the pots, we watched Episode 4 of Beast Games. This was a great day, mostly relaxing and our laundry got done in the process. We hung around the same temperature as yesterday, 75F/22C, which was perfect.

And after sunset........
no words but, well,
Quartzsite, Az
Good night!
