A Calmer Day in the Neighbourhood, Visitors

Park Place RV Park

On Friday, Mar. 13th Bill and Gibbs were up at their usual 6 o'clock. I had already been awake at 4:50 (!) for some reason and pulled the duvet up over my lower body. Silly, true, but I felt a bit cool with my window open. I know I slept well, dreaming again.

Good morning!

Bill was in the shower, having his breakfast by the time I came downstairs around 7:15. Gibbs was into the usual performance too, delving under the covers and waiting until Mom laughed. Yes, he felt he needed to wake me up. Age means nothing to him either, he loves to play.

After Bill left, I had my tea and we went for our walk around the outer block. It was already quite warm so we had closed windows and turned the a/c to come on around 72F/20C. With no obligations to go anywhere or make anything, I made a coffee around 10 and walked to the obnoxious puzzle.

A little bit more finished down the right
hand side.

This may be one of 3 that I will have started and not finished. Some people have more faith in me than I do when it comes to Van Gogh....well, I may be beaten. In an hour and a half I only put in about 5 pieces and left before noon frustrated. There is still tomorrow......we'll see.

We had lunch together and I helped Bill pour 1/2 of a 4.5 gal container of peanut oil (Bill got it at Sams Club) into individual containers. We were splitting it this summer with our friends so we can all enjoy deep frying at its best. Better than EVOO. 😉

Our company, Lori and Roland, arrived just before 1 on their Indian bikes and we enjoyed a nice catchup visit. It was hot sitting outside under the canopy but comfortable in the shade. Gibbs had to take turns sitting on our friends, he knows them.

Thank you Bill for taking the picture
for me.
Gibbs poses as well.

Bill then went to Jim's for a while and Gibbs and I relaxed again in the cool of the Suite. We reached a high of 92F/30C today so indoors was the place to be, if possible. Supper was ribs and spuds done in Madame IP with a vegetable of sorts.

Gibbs likes to get as much
attention from his friends as
possible.
I wonder if he remembers them
as Schatzi's mom and dad?

On their way back to
Holtville Hot Springs LTVA, CA

Last night, I had made a couple of greeting cards for Stephanie and Anne Marie because I won't see them on their birthdays in the summer months. They are the only ones in our group who didn't receive a homemade card for any reason. I remedied that. I think they were both pleased. 💕

The colour here is not great
but the cross is brown and the
shroud is in purple.
Anne-Marie loved it.

Stephanie is picking up her baby,
Sally, a bichon frise, this spring,
so I did my best to imitate one for her card.
She loved it also.

So, our supper of pork ribs, potatoes for Bill and salad for each of us, turned out very good. We didn't have any sauce for the ribs but gravy worked fine for tonight. We finished off with a small pie from Walmart for dessert.

The little old man pose
after I had to lift him into my chair.

Supper was good.

That's it for our day and the evening will be quiet, in front of the tv.

We say goodbye to the heat
source of the day.

But it sure makes a pretty exit.

Good night!
(the sky may get better before it's done)

Thank you for popping by!

Birthday Boy, Puzzling, Shenanigans on Game Night

Park Place RV Park

So, on Thursday, Mar. 12th, I wasn't sure if I heard my boys go out at 6. I was in and out of dreams so much that I'm not sure. Guess who I dreamt about this morning? Our first little bum, Clemson, was as vivid as if he was right beside me. 💘💕

Good morning!

I heard Bill call me and sat up for a quick kiss goodbye just before 7. He was heading out to Yuma for a few things, mainly to order ball caps for the QDF club from the Arizona Market. I opted to stay home with Gibbs, unsure of how long we'd be since Bette wasn't around to let him out.

Happy Birthday 5 year old!

I had my shower, we went for a walk before 9 and I decided to do some quilling. With a couple of birthdays, one tomorrow and one Saturday, I wanted to finish making a couple of things. The cards were all ready but I wanted to add something unique for each of the ladies.

Birthday cards and owls for
Sue and Linda

They turned out great and I'll be adding them to my 'fun things to quill' list. 😍 Bill was home by lunch and we ate together.

Meet Piggy

Today, our own little cutie-pie celebrates his 5th birthday. I gave him a piece of his 'cake' and his gift. Of course, he is already teaching him things. 🐕

This is how we sleep in Mom's big chair.
This is how we sleep under Mom's little chair.
Smart Piggy!

I left them for their snooze and walked over to meet Renae in the clubhouse. She'd been playing the Betty Crocker role and made a family cake recipe for the birthday gals. Tonight is game night and we wanted to do a wee bit of celebrating together before we run out of time.

It's a very slow process!
Looks like the couple only sorted pieces
last night. So I continued in the bottom half
to make some progress.

We worked on the puzzle a bit, well, sat and stared at it for a bit and laughed a lot through the cake making process. We all enjoy Renae very much and I look forward to more memories this fall and winter. We're all just getting to know her and visa versa.

My replacement crimping too arrived
WITH the necessary handle.
It's so small, it makes me wonder if the first
one got thrown out with the pkging?
It's very possible.

Back home at 4, Bill had taken our 5 year old for his walk and I prepared things for our quick(ish) supper. Tonight, omelettes and/or toasted Westerns. They are made the same with the addition of toast if we choose. Depends on how hungry we are. It was good!

A delicious fluffy stuffed omelette.
That's all I needed, I knew cake
was on the menu for dessert later.

We've been listening a few of our cd's lately, since the radio (even Sirius) can be repetitive. Daniel Lavoie, Joshua Kadison, Blue Rodeo, Three Dog Night, Celine Dion, Billy Ray Cyrus and Blue Rodeo. We are enjoying the change and it's nice to justify keeping them too!

Happy Birthday ladies!
That cake was deeeelisssshhhous!!

I went over to the clubhouse before 6 to meet the ladies for game night. What can I say about that? With 2 birthdays to celebrate, Linda's and Sue's, we talked about age and how each year is something to be proud of and we shouldn't be ashamed to announce it.

Let the fun times roll!

The evening was accented with Yahtzee, wee shot glasses of Seagrams coolers, cake, ice cream, cookies and stories, so it was no surprise to any of us when we all piled into Linda's VW convertible bug and drove around the park blowing party horns. Yup, age means nothing! 😅😂

The evening skyline was beautiful
and calm.
The ladies in the bug? Not so much!!
What a riot! I actually fit in there
too for the ride around the park.

What a fun day we all had. We've started running our a/c again during the daytime to regulate the Suite's temperature for a comfortable existence inside. Our high today was 90F/29C. No complaints here!

See? I was there!
Good night!

Thank you for your visit.

Short and Sweet, Birthday Boy

Park Place Rv Park

On Wednesday, Mar. 11th we started our day pretty much like any other day that we are on call. We had breakfast (of sorts) together but then after a run around the park, Bill went to his QDF meeting.

Good morning!

I went to open up the office and clubhouse before 9. Sue was already in there baking brownies and it smelled soooo good! Coffee hour entertained 10 of us and as usual, chatter ensued for the whole hour, various conversations.

My special guys

With something to take care of in the office, I asked Sue for some assistance. Bill was back before 10:15 and the rest of the day was a bit of a blur. Not because I was so busy but because I was not. I worked on the puzzle, not making a whole lot of progress.......but some. It is hard. 😂

This is how I left the puzzle.
One of our guests loves this painting
so I invited her and her hubby to work on it.
I hope they left us some to do!
😂

At closing, Bill and I returned home to welcome Ken and Kim for Happy Hour. Sadly, our last HH this season. They will be heading out tomorrow. The good news is that we'll connect again in the summer back home. Safe travels you two!

A nice but sad goodbye.
We'll see them back home.
💕

We had a simple supper of grilled cheese sandwiches, and since we missed Survivor at 5 pm, we'll watch it at 8 on a different time zone. 😉 This has been a nice day.

We reached 88F/28C this afternoon under clear skies and it will be even hotter over the next 12 days. The good news back home from Dot is what you see in the following pictures. Things look good for a return in April. Lots of laying water right now.

Left: front corner looking to the field (west)
Right: front corner looking to Dot & Gord's (east)

You should recognize our
front gate. Yay! The lane looks
pretty clear!

Our neighbours to the west are
never so lucky. Sooo much
water across their laneway.
Their front field will be a pond.
Good night!

A special happy birthday to Easton today. Can you believe he is 7? We hope he has a very exciting day!

Grandma and Grandpa
love you, big guy!
💖💕😍

Thank you for stopping around. Your comments are always welcome.,

Fun Times with the Girls

Park Place RV Park

On Tuesday, Mar. 10th I was up earlier than the previous mornings. Downstairs before 7:30, we had our breakfast (tea & yogourt for me) together. At 8:45, Bill and Gibbs went out for their rounds. I wandered over soon after and opened up for business.

Good morning!

If I thought yesterday was slow, today was snail's pace. 😄 I'm not complaining at all and spent much of my morning rolling quarters from the laundry machines for Sue. It's a busy little laundromat here so I can imagine what revenue 'my' laundromat back home produces!

Renae and I finished the puzzle.
I believe Linda helped with the barn.

Bill had a busy morning back here on our site. He wanted to do some caulking on areas around the Suite and then with the ladder out, he climbed up and cleaned the solar panels again. He said they weren't too terribly dirty but got the dust and dirt off anyway.

Out the office window,
someone is cleaning our panels.🤭
It's hard to slow my man down.

We had lunch together and I went back for the afternoon shift and to play Pokeno with 6 ladies. My penny bucket was pretty low and I figured that I would have to use some of my own quarters and dimes to stay in the game. That wasn't necessary, I won often enough, in small doses, that I didn't need to buy.

Okay, so we tried
"The Starry Night"
♪♫♪♫

Hopefully, next week will be my week to win the Blackout! Renae and decided to challenge ourselves with a cra-a-a-z-z-y puzzle! I'll blame her, she'll blame me for choosing it. 😂 It was sheer determination that resulted in us finishing the border before we called it a day at 4:15.

The border came easier than
I expected.
This will be a challenge.

Today, warmed up from yesterday and the winds were pretty minimal, which was nice. We reached 82F/25C by mid afternoon. Bill and I planned fish and chips for supper, which means fish and a vegetable for me.

Supper was very good.

It tasted very good and because we waited until after 6 to start (our home time for NCIS is 5 pm) cooking, I was very hungry.

Just caught this before it
dropped out of sight.

We're back to our Tuesday night line tv ups so it does interrupt meal time. We've had a good day and tonight is only dropping to 56F/13C - great for sleeping.

This is a wee bit of the
aftermath.
Good night.

Thank you for popping by.

Quiet as a Mouse

Park Place RV Park

On Monday, Mar. 9th I was looking forward to another fun-filled day here in the park. We are doing our 3 days 'on call' starting today but the days are so quiet, it seems like play time. I was up and ready before 8 so relaxed over my cup of tea.

Good morning!
Let's start with the puzzle!

Bill and Gibbs skirted the park perimeter and I opened up the office and clubhouse. There were no arrivals and no departures so it would a slow-moving day. One electric bill payment and one current guest made his fall/winter reservation over the phone.

I was happy to get my
order for shoes.
3 for $99
Free shipping.
😀

At 9:30, Sue, Bette, Linda and I started our poker pool game. It was nice that Stephanie was able to join around 10:30 and we played until noon. I teased that I was going for the high number this morning (low number wins) because that's the way my points were going. I was right, I lost. 😂

A pretty sky

We always have a good time with a lot of chuckles. Playing these games with the ladies here is one of the major things I'll miss back home. Bill isn't into games at all so no point in setting up couples gatherings for that. I'm grateful to have that here.

Grilled bacon cheeseburger
on the menu.

After lunch, I focused on the puzzle. It seemed to be moving along much quicker than I first thought when looking at the grass. It should be done tomorrow. When I closed up at 4, Renae was working away at, with my blessing.

Just after Bill finished grilling,
it started to rain lightly.
By the time we finished eating,
it was a steady light rain
and then a rainbow.

Bill and I had planned burgers for supper so after starting my blog, I made a cup of tea and relaxed even more. Bill and Gibbs had already been out for their afternoon walk. A perk for today was receiving a parcel I've been waiting for from Hike Footwear.

Looking to the west,
the sun was fighting to shine through.

I ordered on Feb. 18th and their 'promised' arrival came and went 2+ weeks ago. I was getting worried and although they are great at communicating, it seems my shoes got caught up somewhere and they had to continuously track it for me. LOL I've got holes in ones I have so yay for today's parcel!

It left us with this sight.

We reached a more moderate 79F/26C with a slight wind. Just lovely. Gray clouds seem prevalent this morning but have since changed to white fluffies for most of the afternoon. There are some changes ahead, with hot, hotter and hottest temperatures reaching our area.

A memory from Mar. 9th, 2022.
We still have the little bum,
just not the sofa.
Good night!

I hope your day was a good one, mine was! Thank you for your visit. Comments are always welcome.
