Cloudy Forecast, Introducing Yuma, Puzzled, Tripping

I was awakened at 5 and 5:30 on Saturday, Jan. 5th when Clemson had to go out and then basically rested until 6:45 when he got up again. It was time for me to get up anyway. I got dressed and when he went back upstairs I lifted him up with Bill. It was still dark but I opened some blinds anyway and sat at the laptop for awhile reading. The temperature was reading 47F which is warmer than it has been this early and the wind speed was 2 mph so not as much layering required.

I met Dorothy who commented that she loved Freddy’s pictures so nice move, Loree. I also met Marlene as she walked the short distance to the clubhouse to make use of their wifi. I’m glad someone is making use of it since it is offered up there. Back home, I made my tea and at 8 I heard Bill getting up. Good thing, I was about to wake him otherwise. We had plans for 9 am so needed to get things going. We just had tea and coffee along with some toast and jam for a quick bite.

Bill drove Black Beauty around to pick Marlene and Benno up and we took them into Yuma to show them where a few key stores are. Benno made some notes and is good at remembering locations so they can now go on their own and do what they need to do when they need to do it.

We stopped at Fry’s so Marlene could register for her loyalty card and then popped in to Harbor Freight to appease Benno. His eyes were that of a child, just typical of most guys. Well, some gals too.

Before heading home, we stopped at Hobby Lobby so Bill could check for plastic models to build. He’s feeling the need to find things to do with his hands while he is away from his hobby at home. Methinks he misses the hangar already! 😊 Even though online the H.L. website was unable to show any models, they had a whole aisle of them. We both searched and eventually found the one he wanted. He bought the paints required and it was a bonus to get 40% off the large item today from the app on my phone. Bingo!

Benno was happy to 'just pop in here'

Returning home at 11, it was the first time EVER that we’ve come through the Inspection Station when no one was in the booths. For a Saturday, we found that odd. I made us each a coffee and then at 11:30 a nice egg sandwich for lunch. Rob and Pat had gone on their own into town as well this morning to do some running around. I rode my bike up to the puzzle room to find 2 other ladies in there working on a new puzzle. The one Pat and I were working on was moved over to the side.

I pulled up a chair and started on it. It was kind of silly to me to have 2 – 1000 pc. puzzles going on that small table but the one lady seemed just the type to want to be ‘in control’. She didn't want anything to do with 'ours'. No worries, I was happy to carry on with where we left off. An hour or so later, when they left, I fully intended to finish it before I went home. It was around 1:30 when a lady I’ve seen a lot in the park stuck her head in to return a book.

She let me know that there were a few spatters of rain on her way up although it had stopped again. Good to know and I decided then and there that I would be leaving the puzzle unfinished. I didn't want to get caught in a downpour. I returned to our site 15 minutes later and made Bill and I a tea. Perfect day for a tea. It isn’t exactly warm today but it isn’t cold either. 55F for the most part and mainly just damp with no wind to speak of. Not a bad day, really, just an inside one.

I sat with my tea in my recliner working on my corking and around 3, Rob and Pat returned from shopping and then joined us with their tea. We chatted about our trip home after March 1^st and made some tentative plans and some firm ones. It was just after 4:30 when they left and Bill and I chatted for a while longer about the route before lighting the Weber to grill steak and potatoes for supper. I saw Nancy outside the window so opened the door. She was walking Molly and just stopped to say hi.

We chatted for a while before she wandered back home to their site. Clemson wasn’t sure what to think about cute little Molly but had to go out and check her out. His little tail was just a-wagging as they danced around each other. They could be such good buddies if he wasn’t such a snobby little boy.  Our supper was wonderful! We don’t always have success with steak, especially thick steak as these were. We were actually able to share one large one and it was quite enough with a salad and half a potato. It was perfect and delicious!

After dishes, I finished my post and sat and did some more corking. I’m enjoying working on it right now as I can watch tv, carry on a conversation and relax at the same time. This has been a good day but I don't think we received the 25% precipitation that was forecast. I hope you enjoyed your day as well.
