The Ridge
On Thursday, May 22nd we were both up and ready for work at our respective times. After his goodbye wishes and kisses, Bill left at 6:45. It was about 7:15 when I left with my mug of tea. We were leaving in the rain, light again, which is better than down pours all day.

Good morning!
This was all we got on Tuesday night
for a sunset.
It was only about 8C/48F at 7 am and that is
as warm as it got all day long. Didn’t much matter as it was to be an inside
day anyway. It didn’t feel terribly cold to me because there was no wind. The
Mat was empty the whole time I was there and I managed to get the lint emptied
on the 2 remaining large dryers.
I found $1.10 in there so no complaints here! The 2 dryers that were not working on the weekend have been fixed and I noticed that the maintenance man has increased the old-style top loading washers from $3.50 to $4.00. I wasn’t too surprised; they have been that price since 2016.
When I chatted with Sandy later, unrelated, he told me about the price change too. The maintenance man runs a laundromat elsewhere, nearby, and wanted them to both be on the same page, pricewise. Sandy agreed and so do I. I finished up within the hour and since I’d fueled up on my way in, I drove down to Impact Tire for our C the A tickets.
The rain would stop periodically throughout the day, but mostly Gibbs had to be wiped down each time he went out. When you gotta go, you withstand the elements! He likes getting his feet wiped, 1,2,3,4 in that order, as it also involves a back rub and a kiss. ♥ We spent the day indoors where it was dry otherwise.

Fitting for these wet days indoors. 😂
I got out my – you guessed it – quilling and carried on making greeting cards to pass the time. I will need to order more of the 3mm and 5mm strips soon as my colour choices are running out. I could cut the 7mm and 10mm in half but that is lengthwise and I’m not a very straight cutter at the best of times, let alone on 12” strips! 😉
Lunch was another veggie quesadilla, well, I guess I had ham too, and I had my usual cup of tea around 3:30. I went as far as I could today, I'm running out of Elmer's glue too, and put it all away. Bill got home around 5 and hopped in the shower. He’d been working on insulation today, yeuch, we all know what that stuff is like.
We were eating shortly after 6 and that was a wonderful meal with leftovers to boot. We cleaned up the pots and ran the dishwasher after Bill made his lunch. One more day for him to work, he is fortunate that they are doing an inside job right now so he is getting hours in.
Even though it was inside (I know I've said 'inside/indoors' a lot!) here for Gibbs and I, it was a great day to work on my hobby. A few more days, 2 or 3?, of rain and maybe we’ll see the end of it and a warmup at the same time. Ha ha, a girl can hope!

Last year on this day,
we had a big prehistoric visitor.
I miss our turtles, we've only seen
a handful.
Good night!
Thank you for the pop by!

This weather sure is miserable. Gardening is waiting
ReplyDeleteYes, here on the Ridge too!
DeleteWe started to finally see some sun here in Southeast Saskatchewan late yesterday. The warm up is supposed to happen starting next week. It has been too cold and wet to get out into the garden or to plant my pots and boxes up.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I believe we are all in the same boat regarding planting. Next week will be busy for all of us!
DeleteI miss your turtles too!!!
ReplyDeleteI know!!
DeleteWe're finally warming up here, and we'll reach 20C+ starting tomorrow. I'll try to send it your way. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Maebeme!
DeleteEqually cold and rainy here, as I'm guessing you would expect!
