The Ridge
On Thursday, May 15th since I didn’t have to go anywhere this morning, I stayed in bed past my usual 7 am. Bill came up a few minutes before, just as he was ready to leave, to give us kisses goodbye. I was very comfortable and saw no need to get up right away. It was a few minutes before 8 when I decided it was time.

| Good morning! The day is 'blossoming'! |
It was mostly sunny and warm already, 16C/61F, and a nice day was forecasted. There were chances of rain, possible thunderstorms, this afternoon and evening so we’ll see how it plays out. I made my tea and decided to take a chance on the outdoor situation, regarding flying, biting flies. I wore my hat, but didn’t need to pull the netting down for quite a while.

Gibbs and I were able to
sit outside for an hour
before it was 'breakfast hour'
for the critters.
Gibbs and I sat on the patio in the shade and enjoyed the slight breeze and bird calls. There were lots out and about this morning, chattering up a storm of their own. It is nice to see that our Service Berry trees, of which we now only have 2 left, are in full blossom. I think maybe they are finally coming back to life after an early frost 2 years ago. 😊

Within 2 minutes, these birds
were seen and heard while we
sat outside. 😀
Almost exactly at 9, the black flies made an appearance so while Gibbs settled onto my left arm (I was using my right to play my online games), I slipped the netting down on my hat and teehee’d them. The other day, Bill lost his old bug hat while cutting grass out front….it obviously was not on his head, but in a side pouch of the mower. Odd where it would go but Gibbs and I couldn’t find it on our search this morning.

Someone still thinks it is a race
to get back up the hill.
💕💕
My leg was bothering me so bad when we returned that I decided just to sit on my butt and do some quilling. There is grass to be cut but I sure don’t think I can do that today! Darn, I do hate this feeling inadequate when things need to be done. I wasn’t creating anything for anything in particular, just fiddling and took the time to stop for lunch.

First time visitor this year!
Yay!
The warmed leftover pancakes and syrup were just the ticket. As I carried on creating, Bill called to say he was done work early and did I want to go out on Jazz for a ride when he returned? Of course! It’s the perfect day for a ride and the sky doesn’t look threatening at all. Our rain gear is tucked inside the saddle bag anyway……as a precaution. 😊

There's a meeting in the field
across the road.
We weren't invited.
We were on our way out the door at 1:45, headed to Alma, where our youngest grandson lives. He will be TWO (!!) tomorrow and rather than driving at night to see him, this would kill two birds with one stone. So we thought. Duh! These grandparents aren’t the brightest. Although we knew Krystal would be working from home, we didn’t clue in that little Alexander would be at daycare.

Another part of my delivery.
Quilling supplies in the top right picture.
Paper strips come in different thicknesses, so
these different tools make it easier to work
with each one.
Oh well, we saw Bill’s 3rd daughter for a brief 10 minutes and turned around and headed back home. It was an hour drive each way and we both fully enjoyed it. Surprisingly, before we left, my sciatica pain had disappeared and it didn’t bother me for the whole ride. My butt and legs get tired after 2 hours, but that is something I expect. That was great news!
We were home by 4 and Jazz nestled back in her safe haven with Lila and the Cub Cadet. Bill was tired, I knew he would be so he proceeded to have his snooze.

| Back in the shelter until next time. |
I received my parcel from Temu Canada just before lunch today so was busy trying to set up a very inexpensive Smart Watch that came in the package. Hmm, I might have to get a brain surgeons degree in order to figure this one out! As long as it tells time, I’ll be happy and leave it at that - for now. 😊

I only ordered the watch
because I needed to spend another
$10 to get free shipping.
The temperature sure heated up today with a high of 25C/77F. Tomorrow will be even warmer; wouldn’t you know though that it drops back off just in time for the long weekend campers. ☹ That’s a bummer, who wants overnight temps in the single digits?

Sorry, this is in Fahrenheit.
Remember, 32F is freezing.
For supper, Bill grilled pork chops (the black flies had gone out to eat, I guess) and potatoes on the Weber Q. Inside, I fried some zucchini for myself and we had a nice meal together. Guess what we had for dessert? Lemon meringue pie and chocolate cream pie from our dinner last night. Oh my, it was delicious!

Supper was good!
Memory time.

Rob rescued us when Jazz
wouldn't start in Flesherton.
Told you, he was a wonderful friend. 💗
Good night!
Thank you for your visit today.

T-shirt and bike weather ~ nothing better! Gibbs is so good to wait for you. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the meeting in the field - blue sky and all the greenery - wonderful!! Thanks.
I'm next to Phoenix.....88 here today - PERFECT!!
You have awesome weather now! Enjoy and thank you for the comment.
DeleteBe careful with Temu.
ReplyDeleteI used to order from them also and was so surprised at their low prices.
I’ve found the quality of their products is poor but more importantly there is much negativity about their business practices.
My mailman warned me about this.
It was brought to my attention that many complained of their personal information being harvested by the Temu company.
And that the Temu app was not secure. I have since deleted it.
thank you for the info.
DeleteGlad your sciatica backed off so you were able to go for a ride.
ReplyDeleteChilly here, though the rain has stopped. We're looking at close to freezing temps overnight. I'm certain the long May weekend campers won't be happy.
Thank you Maebeme. Our cool days are coming, I know. Sunday through Friday before it warms up again. No freezing temps forecasted although close! Crazy!
DeleteFunny about the hat! The good news is you can outrun them on the bike! Agree ... be careful with Temu. I've heard they will eventually use your credit card number. And you had me at PIE!!
ReplyDeleteI know! The hat must be in the next field by now!
DeleteThank you, I wasn't aware of that about Temu.
I knew PIE would get you!
Fun bike ride!! I used to order from Temu also. Can’t say it was their site but my card was hacked several times. I quit ordering from them and no hacking ( knock on wood.)
ReplyDeletePatti
Yes it was!
DeleteOkay, I appreciate all the feedback. I remember you having problems with your c.c. Thank you.
Nice you finally went for a ride and "no pain". The pies slices looked good.
