A Short One?

 The Ridge

On Saturday, Aug. 9th I didn't hear Bill getting up, but knew it was 4 am! Yes, he had a date with his friends in London today, his pilot friends from when we lived there and he was a member of the Forest City Flyers. Today was their Fun Fly.

Good morning!
We had no sign of Aurora Borealis
last night but this pretty sky made up for it.

Last year he missed it but I can't recall why. Weather or his busy-ness? Anyway, he was determined to go this year and left the Ridge pulling his cargo trailer at 5. Gibbs and I slept on. We said 'goodbye' last night with an extra smooch. 💕💋

Yesterday, I was 5 minutes away at M's
when I checked our bedroom cam.
Already, he was asleep. Such a good little boy.
Of course, he can be awake in a second if need be!

The little mutt and I slept until 7. I had nothing going on today so it was a leisurely start to my day. I turned the a/c on immediately and after my tea, I vacuumed the Suite. I read a bit of my Jack Reacher stories, this book is a collection. All good ones.

So, another little sweetheart here.
Mildred supervised the yard sale.

I messaged Robin at 10 about popping by at her yard sale and a visit. I think she appreciated my company for a couple of hours. 😃 I had lunch at home and the rest of the day was just lazing. Well, I did pump water into the cans and watered my veggies.

A picture from Bill's day.
Anyone recognize this flyer?
Yup, Keith showed up and that made Bill (& me)
very happy.

Bill was home at 5, safe and sound, which always puts my little worries to bed. For supper, we weren't too hungry so just had corn on the cob with fruit for dessert. It was good and just enough. It was a great day for him, reacquainting with his buddies from year's past, and for me back home with Gibbs.

My tomatoes and peppers got a huge
drink of water today but I went out
to cover them from the evening's sun anyway.
One red tomato came inside with me.
Some peppers are coming but only flowers
on the egg plant so far.

We reached a humid high of 30C/87F today and hotter tomorrow by a degree or two. Strange summer. I hope you are keeping cool.

If I plan on watching new blooms come to life,
it will be a busy few nights.
Can you see all the buds here?
3 in the left photo, one in the top right
and one in the bottom.
Yay!

By the way, another Moonflower burst open last night but I didn't think it was that close. I'm glad you all enjoyed my video! 💘

This is not a picture from today,
he's wearing long sleeves, but
he was just as focused today on his drive.
This is in Utah, one year.
Good night!

Thank you for popping in.

  1. It's great that Bill got down to the 'Fun Fly' this year. It's always good to connect with old friends. Another hot one coming today and tomorrow. Too bad I can't bottle this up for a few days in January!

    1. Thanks sis. I'm glad he got to go as well. As members age, their chances to reunite come less and less.
Have you tried bottling it up? Hmmm, I'm sure if you tried! 🤔

  3. We had a very cool day yesterday (19C),however it is supposed to warm up today to 25C. The house really cooled down over night. We need some of the heat for our tomatoes to ripen.
Sounds like you both had a great day.
