An Enjoyable Day

The Ridge

On Monday, Sept. 29th we are approaching the bottom of the hill called September. Just a few more steps, unbelievable. Bill woke me at 6:30, as he was preparing to leave, and asked 'do you clean this morning?'

Good morning!
Our trees are not very pretty
along Baptist Church Road this fall.

Normally, I would rush a bit to be there by 7:15 but lately, the wind down has me just getting into the Mat when I get there. 😊 Bill had work, finishing the house painting in Kincardine so he was off within minutes of waking me. I arrived in town at 7:30.

Moooo!
I'm sure they had something on their
mind, but I waited and got nothing
more than that.
Moooo!

One customer came in today, a regular. It's nice to know that people are aware I go south for the winter. I know they miss me when I'm gone and that is a good feeling too. I've heard nothing negative but I do avoid talking much about 'things', especially with those I know to be the nay-sayers, about everything.

Though a dirty window
and a blurry shot, I still
like the sun burst.

I was home to Gibbs before 9 and felt good just relaxing for the remainder of the day. I typed up the will for M and when he needs to go to town, I will take it over for him to make changes and fill in the blanks. I have it saved on my laptop so I can do what he needs done before signing.

With a couple of garden metal pieces
from Saturday's yard sale, I was able
to create my earring tree.
With some garden clips, I'm quite
pleased!

Then, I went to the Bunky. I know it is likely all for naught, but I began bagging individual things and counting and hanging others in a mock 'trial'. Bill has added bases for my 2 wooden stands, bless his heart, so I can feature my hanging pieces on those. It's good practice for spring if nothing else.

I found this basket FREE at
someone's laneway so repurposed
it quite nicely, I think.

I started another fire in our pit and managed to burn just about all of the wood from the small garden trailer. Unfortunately, they don't make fire pits like they used to and the tray has burnt through. Crap! Maybe we can get another piece of metal for the bottom, I have no plans to buy new.

For a while, I had a nice roaring
fire but when it died out, so did
the bottom pan.
Except for the few pieces on the ground,
I did empty the trailer. 😀

Dragonfly delivery brought our next sets of lights for the Suite and a new sewer hose that Bill ordered. I think I sliced the current one with the whipper snipper one day a while back. Woops! Bill says he may have done it, but it needed to be replaced for the winter.

The pond looks nice here.

I made another greeting card, tweaked a couple more that needed 'something' and decided another pair or two or three of earrings would be good. Seasonal ones. 😊😉 Bill was home before 4 and we had fish and chips for supper. The fries were delicious!

Supper was good.
Yum.

After cleanup and his lunch, he went to the Hangar. I can hear Dot next door cutting their lawn. Good thing her mower has a light as at 7:30 it's pretty dark! Don't fall in the pond, Dottie! 😍 This was a great day. We reached 25C/77F today under clear skies so we are benefitting from our solar.

The sun sure sets in a different
part of the west sky now.

Gibbs and I walked earlier for the mail, forgetting that they posties are on strike again. LOL I wonder how long they will be out this time. Maybe no Christmas cards again! Have a great night!

Still unscathed, Goat gets a sneak
preview of Gibbs' Daddy leave for the
Hangar.
I can hear the conversation now,
"That is where Daddy goes every night,
and I don't see him until bedtime".
💘
This little guy melts my heart.
Good night!

Thank you for stopping in.

  1. Your trees may not be pretty but THE SHADE looks wonderful to me! Your displays are really nice! Your chair is getting crowded now with Goat added in! So cute that Gibbs is telling him why he's looking out the window!! Thicker plate for the fire pit might help? 6pm here ~ enjoy the evening!

    1. Ah, thank you. Once they get to this muted yellow/orange, I don't find the trees as attractive.
Yes, Mama's chair is no longer..........2 against 1, no fair. but still adorable.
I agree about the plate for the fire pit.

    1. Nor can I! He knows him by name already so maybe he has grown up!?
One can hope that my stuff sells but market/craft customers are tricky. I'm one of those too and can be very particular.

  3. You've certainly got together a nice set-up for a possible market. Fingers crossed that you get a table.
I'm sure there must be some sort of replacement for the firepit. One of the local hardware stores or more likely Amazon should have them. The latter seems to have everything.

    1. Thank you, I'm still hoping. After the weekend, I will start packing things up in the Bunky. I need access to the small loft to see what is up there that can be given away. Lots, methinks!
We'll find something for the fire pit since the frame is still in great shape. Thanks.
