London, Ontario
On Monday, Apr. 13th our hopes were high and sitting in an rv lot waiting for repairs - we should know better. Things change too quickly and although our appointment for 9 am was made last October, well, that seldom happens. Unfortunately.

Good morning! Ours was spent in the waiting room at CanAm.
So, we were all up by 7:30 and ready for the doors to open at 8:30. We had our morning brews made and Bill had his cereal. Because Gibbs knew something was going on, he was very restless which encouraged us to go sit inside the waiting/coffee/tv room.

This was a lovely day! We reached 25C/77F
Gibbs settles down pretty good in there, as long as passersby come and say hi. Don't come in for a coffee or water without noticing me. 😍 The Suite was moved inside around 11:30 and by then, my tummy was rumbling for lunch.

Cute sign in the store. How many meals have been more than Well done? 🤭🤔
Somehow we missed the food truck that comes in here so hopped in Black Beauty at 12:30 and drove to Lambeth to get lunch at A & W - again. A few minutes, literally, after we returned to the wait room, Ken and Kim dropped in. It is always so nice to see them.

I'm going to give myself credit here. This is a GREAT picture!
Because we couldn't get into our home, we all sat comfortably inside and caught up. A couple of hours later we heard the news (not so good) about what the techs were going to do to our slide. It meant 'a few days' in the shop and a matter of pulling the fridge and cupboards out.

This is our sleeping accomodations for a night or two. A 2024 new 26' Ember Touring Edition
It gets worse. To get the fridge out, they would have to take the island out and that entails plumbing for the sink and dishwasher. Oh my! The price was about $2,000 more than what we'd planned for. Bill went out with them to see what else could be done, safely, efficiently and less costly.

A nice travel trailer, roomy enough for 2 but not fulltime. Not us, anyway!

I like the skylight over the bed and all the windows. There is also a second door off the bedroom.

We decided to test out the recliners and give them a 4 * rating.

Confused so naturally, had to be beside us all the time. Now that's a face you can't help but love, right?

Tim Horton's offerings. I had no idea. I've never liked their 'too strong for me' coffee.
This is a nice little trailer, and we won't need much for blankets tonight with a warm overnight temperature in the forecast of 13C/55.4F.
We were quite comfortable. Gibbs is quite confused, naturally, and we're trying to keep him as comfortable as possible. Poor little guy has no idea what's going on. 💕

My pizza in real life Lots of cheese! Yummy! I have leftovers of this now too.

A pretty sky as we say Good night!
Thank you for stopping around!

Oh wow that is a shock to the pocket book. Nice that you have a good, long term relationship with CanAm and they found you somewhere to stay so that you didn’t have to add a hotel stay to the total bill!
ReplyDeleteYes it is a shock. However, you are absolutely correct. That saved us a pile of $$ right there.
DeleteWishing you the best possible outcome. These bumps in life sure do test us!
ReplyDeleteThank you, yes they sure do!
DeleteTrusting that this hitch ends better than it sounds.
ReplyDeleteYour accommodations look very nice.
Tummy rubs for Gibbs.
Linda a.
Thank you Linda a. It is a nice little 'motel' room!
DeleteWell RATS! I was so glad you didn't have any flat tires, and then this! Better to get fixed up while you can, and in a good place to fix things. Poor Gibbs ... he's confused!! Prayers for a quick fix!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Nancy, we agree about all that. Such a good 10 days home and then this. Oh well, could always be worse.
DeleteThose are expensive repairs.
ReplyDeleteMaybe, taking Gibbs for walks in parks away from the RV Dealership will help him relax. Not being Home is confusing him.
Your Tim's Flatbread Pizza had way more cheese than they put on them here.
Stay Safe and Enjoy the change of pace.
It's about time.
Thanks Rick.
DeleteThat pizza was amazing!
Hoping everything works out for the best for you and those slide problems will be taken care of once and forever.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you face that extra expense!
ReplyDeleteThank you FG.
DeleteNot what you needed at the end of your journey. I can understand Gibbs being confused. I get that way if I wake up in the spare bed! Hop things get fixed up to your liking.
ReplyDeleteThanks sis! The bed is high, the bencvh at the table is high, poor guy.
DeleteOh my, I bet that was a big shock. I hope that you can get things fixed and be on your way to the ridge. How nice that they had a trailer you could move into for a couple of days.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thank you, Jackie, yes a shock indeed.
DeleteThat Gibbs is a cutie. Unfortunate expense, but it will pass. Enjoy your wait.
