The Ridge
We were up and at 'em by 7 am on Friday, June 5th. Before I came downstairs, I stripped the bed and the duvet. Time for wash. Our grounding bed sheet cannot be dried in the dryer nor dried in direct sunlight so with cloud cover, it started out perfect.

Good morning! No northern lights but a pretty sky regardless.

Not sure what stars these are,
but they were huddled close
and very bright. I should have used
my SkyView Lite app.
I left first and went to the bank for some cash, then to the Mat. Only one couple (it's quite unusual to see both man and wife!) in doing laundry. Very nice pair. I noticed 2 machines with a problem so took pics and sent the notes to Sandy.

Nice cows (for Lori)
and nice clouds on my drive to town.
A 3rd machine has been very noisy for a long time, like a jet taking off, so I told him about that too. Lastly, I asked if he could switch the heat to a/c next time he was in. He responded immediately to all requests and must have controls at his office since by the time I was on the road, he had done it. 😉

Gibbs and I rested after
I cut the lawn.
Tires him out too.
It was 25C/77F in there this am. Too hot for cleaning! There was a lovely breeze, gusty at times, but with the heat of the day, we welcomed it. I hung the sheets on the line, knowing they would be dry very quickly. I hope the sun didn't damage the grounding sheet but it did make an appearance.

Bill took his weed trimmer and
did the small portion I couldn't finish.
Saves me getting the mower out tomorrow.
💘
Bill was done work early, really early, as he knew he would be. He had stopped in Hanover at Walmart to pick up a few items first and was home by 10:30. Since the Durham dump was open today at 11, we hooked up the dump trailer and took our brush. We were able to drop Robin and Andrew's trailer at their place on our way home. They need it this week.
We came home for lunch, another poached egg on toast for me, and after Bill dozed for half hour, we drove to Priceville Post Office. Our passports were there and needed signatures for pick up. A week early. 😀 They seem quite fancy except for the 'mug shots' inside.
I went out and cut the grass out front here until my battery died. It should have been fully charged but it is what it is. 🤷♀️ I put it away and planned to finish the small area tomorrow. The lawn looks good again for a few days.

Shiny new passports.
Well, you get my drift.
Bill hopped on his mower and did a bit of cutting. The fields looked pretty good but the berm behind us needed it. He also did some weed trimming around our sitting area and up around the gardens. I brought the sheets in off the line and proceeded to make the bed.

Sitting in the shade,
see the temperature in the shade?
Yes, I agreed with Gibbs.
Filling the duvet cover has always been a challenge but I do believe I have it mastered now! It didn't take long but it was quite warm up in the bedroom. I was done for the day......kind of. Gibbs and I sat outside in the shade of our trees and enjoyed the breeze until the flies found me. Grrr!

I know it seems like Bill is the
only one who works around here.
However, that isn't true, I just don't
have proof of what I do!
ðŸ¤
I know I have a few more bites but I've enjoyed the reprieve while it lasted. ðŸ¤

I noticed a couple of leaves on one of my dahlias so walked to check out the rest. All of them! Yes!
When he was finished with the lawn, he went in for a shower and I went to the Bunky to start a puzzle. Just 500 pieces this time but a really nice picture. I worked on it until 4:45 when it was time to get cleaned up for C the A.

I know I'll enjoy this one.
Smaller but still nice to do.
Again, no winner but we did our duty helping count tickets and $$.

Biding our time until it was time to go to the Curling club
We were home by 7 and decided on having the remaining pancakes for supper. Bill had 2 left and I had 3. They are so good, I can't tell the difference from the original ones and few carbs!

Coming up the lane,
we had to disturb the Mrs.
I was hungry!
There was a second one further up,
we haven't seen them much.
I ran out in the rain, which started around 6:30, and moved our rain pails under the Suite's eaves. They are already half full! Yay, my garden and rain barrel will be so happy! I finished my blog and found something to entertain me on tv. Bill went to the Hangar.
This was a good day same temperature as yesterday. I think we have arrived into the nice weather. Lots seem to get done and crawling into clean smelling sheets will be our reward.

Today, we noticed our
Peonies are popping!
Good night!
Thank you for the visit!

Yes, magazine worthy, but even more George approved. Thank you Patsy for your dedication of daily blogging. I thank you! Dee
ReplyDeleteHa! I certainly agree about George. You're welcome and thank you for keeping me in business! 💕
DeleteWe actually watched a mama turtle crawl up the bank from the pond to the far side of the property to lay her eggs. First time for a few years! Welcome back Mama.
ReplyDeleteThat is so special. I hope she was successful and the skunks leave them alone. 🤞
DeleteHeat AND rain? I'm with Gibbs ... hang out in the shade. BTW you need a LOT more syrup on those pancakes!! LOL
ReplyDeleteYah, but the flies lived there in the shade and bit me AGAIN!
DeleteNice that Sandy got the air conditioning on in the Mat so quickly. Your pancakes look yummy.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
For the duvet have you tried the “burrito role” method. Works great. Also, just bought some duvet pins to hold it together, these too are also great. Take care. Melissa.
ReplyDeleteThe peonies are always a sign of warmer weather. And so pretty too!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter does the mowing here and it seems it needs doing every few days. With all the rain everything is lush and green. Weeds included.:)
