Hump Day, Visitors Leave, The Rain Must Fall

On Wednesday, Aug. 3^rd I really, really wanted to sleep in for some reason. It wasn’t that late when I went to bed so maybe it was a dream-filled night. 😊 I got up at 7 and when Bill went out to leave for work, Gibbs and I went out too. He said goodbye to Patty and Duncan and drove down the lane. Our guests were leaving their Airstream here for the month of August, at our suggestion, and travelling further north to spend time on their property.

Gibbs and I went for our walk to the corner and it was the nicest part of the whole day. Gibbs and I went for our walk to the corner and it was the nicest part of the whole day. ♥ After goodbye hugs and a picture (of course), Duncan and Patty were ready and pulled out at 8:45. I finished getting ready and left the Suite for work at 9:20.

M had me work on a few things in the box of Mike’s pickup and then unfortunately for me, sand and begin covering the motor. ☹ This is a painstaking job, reaching in those tight spots first to sand and then to tape. The orange paint is peeling off in spots so that is mainly what I need to work on. Ever tried covering a motors parts (of which I know nothing about) so the block can be painted? Not a fun job. I was happy to come home!

I’ll be doing the same thing tomorrow as then I’ll be on holidays for a week. The more I get ready, the further along it will be to having the truck finished. Back home, I had something to eat. A grilled tortilla with a farm fresh egg and veggies was my lunch and it was messy, sloppy but quite tasty. I have bananas to eat so had one of those cut up with cream. Let me just say that I was full. 😊

I felt quite tired so Gibbs and I went upstairs with my crocheted afghan for a snooze. I turned tv on and was asleep soon after. Bill called to see what kind of weather we were getting and that was when I noticed the dark clouds to the north east of us. His call was followed by 3 texts checking to see if I was alright up here, the winds were increasing and there were storm/tornado warnings all around.

It is always a great time when friends
come to stay

As a few times before, the storm mostly missed us. We received thunder, saw lightning in the distance, winds and rain but nothing scary enough to have me grab essential things and beeline for the Rav. I’m very happy about that! Bill got home around 4:15, totally surprising us as we couldn’t hear the vehicle with the noise from the rain. 😊

For supper, Madame IP cooked chicken thighs, I boiled potatoes, steamed asparagus and cooked some corn for Bill. It was very good. We washed by hand the pots and loaded the dishwasher with the rest. Bill made his lunch and we sat together for the evening, listening to the rain. Can’t say our plants are suffering tonight unless it’s from too much water!

This was a good day even though it was back to work after an extended long weekend. I hope you didn’t get any scary weather today.
