The Ridge
On Wednesday, July 9th I was up before Bill left at 6:30 and was on my way in to the Mat before 7. I figure once I'm awake and mobile, I may as well get in there. I made a quick stop at Robin's to put out another 'sold' item from her shed for pick up.

Good morning! When Bill came up from the Hangar last night, he took some moon pictures for me. 95.76% illumination. Can you see something funny about any of these pictures?

Look closer.
There was no one there when I arrived but a new gal came in half way through my hour. When I left there, I went to Foodland first for Bill's bread and lotto tickets. My seeded Carbonaut bread was out of stock so I'll go back another day. Since they are frozen, it makes it easy to stock up.

The sun was hazy this morning behind the clouds.
From there, I went for a bottle of water and left my $3 on the counter for Mark. I could hear him in the shop moving pallets around. Last stop, Impact Tire to buy our Catch the Ace tickets. Then home for an hour and a half with Gibbs.
I made a coffee just before 10 and drove over to pick M up for his town errands. Back home, I'd decided that I wasn't going to get my quilling out. It wasn't going to be a bad day out there today, the temperatures are crawling back up again. A storm is expected after lunch. 😞

The children are very grown up now. Mama Goose: 'when do you think they will move out?' Papa Goose: 'I don't know but our son is as tall hias me now'
I went through my cookie and squares recipes, with a reunion on Sunday, maybe I'll make something for that. I found a cookie recipe that I got from Cheryl (remember Dave and Cheryl?) that was no-bake so made those. Another no-bake recipe for squares followed.

This came over my phone right after Bill called. It put me in motion to pack our things.
Lunch was a very messy, didn't turn out, pizza but it tasted good and filled me. No picture, it's too embarassing! Bill called around 3 to see if I was getting a storm and yes, it was just starting to rain. It was really sweet of him to touch base.

After it passed by, I saw the ring around the sun. Picture worthy for sure!
No winds but when a tornado warning for this area came across my phone, I packed our essentials up. I messaged Dot to see if she was around and got the invite to come over anytime if I felt it was necessary. That is a comfort like you wouldn't believe. 💗

I keep an eye out to watch for changes in the sky. Colour, clouds and winds.
It passed to the north and southeast of us with no issues so Gibbs and I stayed put. I opened windows again to let the fresh air flow through and sat with my book. This J.A. Jance book has me turning pages like crazy. I don't like when a book this good ends though. Funny, eh?

I love our tacos!
Supper was tacos and boy, they were so good! We cleaned up the pot and thermoses, set the dishwasher to do the rest and Bill made his lunch. It has been a pretty good day. The sky has mostly cleared out, yet the rain may return overnight.

These are similar to my macaroons but no coconut. The squares turned out okay but, unlike the sun, not picture worthy.
My plants are thoroughly watered and very happy, I'm sure. I know I am! We reached 24C/75F today.

A memory from May 21, 2016 Our first spring up here. The pond looks so good here!
How about this? Certainly a different view of our laneway then. This is why I love taking pictures. Good night!
Thank you for stopping by.

You and Nancy are busy gals and your shadow man was a cute picture.

I'm nothing compared to Nancy! She doesn't know how to stop! :)
DeleteThe shadow was odd because he was facing the moon............our motion light came on behind him, causing the shadow.
I hate those tornado warnings. I'm glad you have a place to go.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nancy. Me too!
DeleteWe are under a severe storm watch, plus an air quality one as well. Hopefully we don't get the storm that is being predicted.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
As long as it remains a 'watch', not a warning............those are the ones I hate along with the t word.
DeleteWe don't have any watches or rain until Friday overnight.
I'm glad that the potential tornado did not come to pass. It cooled off considerably here today, just a high of 25C, with the promise of rain overnight. I just opened my bedroom window to let in some fresh air! (almost 10 p.m.)
