Walmart, Fort Smith, Arkansas
On Monday, Oct. 20th we woke up after a good sleep around 5:30. It was before 10 that we called it a night. Bill got up, took Gibbs out and remained downstairs. Gibbs came back to bed and he and I dozed until 6:30.

This is what being a good puppy dog all day does to our boy.
I hopped in the shower first and Bill followed. Boy, do we enjoy the full water pressure when we have it! We had yogourt for breakfast and were packed up, hooked up and ready to pull out at 7:50. The sky was clear blue and if I'd been outside sooner, I could have caught the sun rise.

My view from the back of the truck.
💖 Be still my heart.
You can read Bill's blog, On Our Way, for updates on our route, his map and his road rating. It was a cool start, only 41F/5C, but we knew where we were headed was going to be hot. We both chose shorts/capris for the trip. I wear a hoodie or sweater and that takes the chill off of those early temperatures.
We experienced nice roads......all day, can you believe it? We were not able to use the Mudflap app today when we stopped for fuel but the price was pretty good at $3.35/gal at a Philips 66 station in Bald Knob (🤭), AR. Since it was 11:30, we ate our sandwiches before hitting the road.
Temperatures had risen to 69F/21C by then and we knew we'd made the right choice with our clothing. There were a couple of traffic slow downs due to small patches of construction but it was busy enough to slow us down for a total of almost an hour. No complete stoppage but very slow.

A few water towers from today

Pretty trip today. If you zoom into the bottom picture, I accidentally captured a military C-130 at the tip of the blue scroll.

We enjoyed the leg stretch in a beautiful area before our last 90 minutes of traveling. I was playing around with today's pictures so we'll say how that plays out in my blog.

Beautiful stop
We arrived at an out of the way Walmart in Fort Smith for the night at 4 pm. After approval to stay, Bill leveled us as best he could and we settled.
We're close to the interstate, I-540, but our bed is facing the storefront so we should be fine for sleeping. That doesn't usually bother us too much if we're tired.
For supper, we ate our leftovers from last night. I reheated Bill's shrimp in the air fryer with the generator running and my beef in the microwave. It wasn't much but we have pie and/or ice cream for dessert.
This was a great day and although I've run out of pictures from today, (I really tried not to go crazy), I'll post a memory or two.

No shorts here but at least we had no rain today. I think our high was 10C.
