The Ridge
On Monday, May 11, it felt good to stay in bed. Although, it only lasts until 7:30 at the latest and then I'm moving. Bill leaves at 6:30 so after bidding him adieu, Gibbs curled up beside me at the window and we dropped off again.

Good morning! This little visitor made my morning.

Visiting me through the window.
I hopped in the shower as soon as I got up so I didn't get lazy. With no where to go today, I tend to do that. Woops! I made my tea and set it on my craft table...and promptly forgot about it! LOL I was distracted by our first Baltimore Oriole visit!
He was right there, first on my clothesline and then on our ladder! He made a couple of trips around the Suite, landing once on Black Beauty, before coming to the oranges in the feeder. He seemed to be happy to nibble there for a while before flying off.

He came back for the grape jelly.
Once he disappeared, I went out and added some grape jelly for him. I was so excited! I'd heard about them visiting St. Thomas and Clinton, even Montreal so it was bound to be our turn. This is not my picture, but what came up on my emoji search.
They are so stunning.
Needless to say, I sat in my chair with Gibbs and when 9 o'clock rolled around, I remembered my tea. LOL I reheated it and enjoyed it all the same. Bill and I have 2 daughter's birthdays today. His youngest, Jess, and my oldest, Bridgette, celebrate the same day. What a coincidence!

So, with those wishes relayed, I started reading one of my very few 'health' books. I wanted to refresh my memory on Barry Grove's theory on diabetes and cholesterol. He makes so much sense to me and has the research to back it all up. I enjoy flipping through the pages.

It has a lot of nice short stories.
On my 50th birthday, my sister Donna gave me a small book with little stories and I came across it yesterday in my 'special' book cupboard (along with Barry's). I smiled about the gift and read through some of the heart-warming, feel-good tales.

We walked to the mailbox Gibbs waits for me to head back.
First, Gibbs and I walked down to the mailbox and brought up the Canadian Tire flyer. He actually walked right to the road with me this time. It felt really cold when I first went out but on the way back, not as bad. Still, 6C/42.8F is not warm! Thankfully, we didn't have the strong winds.

Finally! My 3 little daffodils
have bloomed in the midst
of the periwinkle.
I made my tea and got the tools out for making earrings. Bill messaged that he would be home before 5:30 so I finished 2 pair of earrings and then sat with Gibbs to watch a new series that one of my fellow bloggers recommended.

My new earring display holder. Two new pair of earrings added.
Scarpetta, 1st episode in and I'm interested enough to go on. The author, Patricia Cornwell, is familiar to me as well. for supper, I had mini sausages and pancakes on the menu. Bill was quite happy about that. They were good. We cleaned up and I put on Bosch. Time for a re-boot. 😉

Happy Birthday, Bridgette.
Happy Birthday, Jess.
Good night!
Thank you for your visit today. Comments are welcome.

Happy Birthday to Bridgette and Jess!
ReplyDeleteI love your daffodil and periwinkle combination. So pretty!
Thank you, the girls both had good days.
DeleteThe combo in the garden was merely fluke! I'm not very creative with flowers.
Nice pictures of your birthday girls and your earrings and holder are cute.
ReplyDeleteGreat the Oriole came to your house sometimes they stop at our house for just a few days.
Sue
Thank you, hard to NOT get good pictures of lovely people, right?
DeleteYay for the Oriole!
We have never had any Orioles here in Hanover! I guess I have to put feeders out to attract them.🤔 I need some new feeders so will have to go on the hunt.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful birds!
You had them at the Acreage, so yes, put even a container of jam and oranges on a stand of some sort in the yard. See if you get any first. Hummingbird feed too.
DeleteHow lucky you are .. two beautiful birthday girls and a gorgeous oriole! Keep on giving those hugs and rubs to Gibbs!
ReplyDeleteThank you Nancy, we feel very lucky and proud of these girls. Both have done a lot to get where they are through various trials.
DeleteThe books in the Scarpetta series are so much better that the video version. I am having trouble watching it, maybe I just don't like the casting of the key players in the video. If you have not read the books, then you will probably enjoy the video.
ReplyDeleteNo, I have not read them and right now like the tv program to watch over reading.
DeleteThe Orioles are gorgeous! Happy Birthday Bridgette and Jess! Boy the kids are really growing up! :) Dinner looks yummy! Love breakfast for dinner, Ken not so much! Earring display holder is really nice!
