The Ridge
On Monday, Oct. 10th, commonly known as Thanksgiving Monday, we carried on with the ‘sleeping in’ protocol that’s been set since Saturday. I did have to clean but since it was almost 8 when we got up, that meant a late start for Durham. The place got busy within 15 minutes of my being there and from the lint I found in the dryer trays, I could tell it has been busy over the last couple of days. Good news!

Baptist Church Road towards home |
I was on my way out the door for home by 9:15. The day started out with clear blue skies and a gradual warm up to a high of 12C/54F, it wasn’t too bad of a day at all. Bill took the garbage and recycle bins down before I left for town and they were full. This was our last pick up before we leave so it was important to empty all of the garbage bins from the 3 sheds and the outhouse. 😊

Look at my Sweetie! It's a power washer wand although he can defend me anytime! Great job! |
Yesterday, he got the rain barrel emptied and upturned for the winter, our fire pit washed and stored, the hose has been blown out and put away with the reel, the barbecue was cleaned and ready for storage and the large patio mat has also been folded and packed. Donna and Gerry were packing things up at the Acreage today too so we went over to help take down their shelter canopy.

We drove to the Acreage where the colours were just as beautiful |
We didn’t stay long but long enough for us to catch up about yesterday’s dinner and for Gibbs to run around the property for his exercise. ♥

Thanks
for stopping by.
Thank you for the beautiful trees. Long ago i was fortunate enough to live in the NE US. And was astounded (being from TX, where I am living again) so it is good to see them.
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome, JudithK! They are stunning this year!
DeleteBeautiful Fall pictures. Not here yet.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Doug.
DeleteIs your Thanksgiving the same as ours, just a different day? Always wondered why yours was in Oct.
ReplyDeleteHey Nancy. Thanksgiving is to celebrate the harvest and because our fall/autumn is dominant in October, thus, so is our Thanksgiving. As Doug said above, fall colours have not happened yet in Illinois. :) If we waited until November for our Thanksgiving, we could be covered in snow. Yeuch!
DeleteI love the colors! So beautiful! You two are certainly getting things done! Dinner looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThe colours are extra special this year for some reason. Thank you!
DeleteThe fall colours are so lovely! Sounds like things are getting wrapped up quickly. You'll be ready to go in no time.
ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying the colours this fall and yes, if it didn't mean returning early, we could head out anytime!
