Let the Games Begin! Or Not, Reconnecting with Friends

Park Place RV Park

On another windy day, I slept in on Monday, Nov. 4th until 7:15. I was awake when my boys went out at 6 but dropped off quickly. Last night, I watched a Nicholas Sparks movie, hoping it wasn’t too ‘mushy’, and it wasn’t. Kind of a thriller but not really either. I enjoyed it even though the endings are predictable. 😊 It was over at 10 and I wasted no time going to bed after it was over.

Good morning!

This morning, I washed, dressed and went for my walk at 7:30. I was afraid if I had my tea first (as I have been) that I would get lazy. So, I wore a hoody and headed off to go around the big block. I call them ‘small’ (the one Gibbs and I take), ‘medium’ (around Arizona Sun Resort), and ‘big’ (the one that takes me up to the park and Plymouth Rd). I thought it would be a mile but was surprised to find it is only .81 of a mile.

My shoes took me around the big block
Remember this Saguaro hiding in the tree?

It was far enough though, for me just starting out again. The biggest block will be when I go up to the Main St. corner to the Family Dollar. That’s for later on. Bill knew it would be too windy for flying so drove to Roadrunner Market for a loaf of our favourite French bread. It would be freshly made and the best bread in town if you can get it. They sell out early. He returned with a loaf in a foil bag – hot off the ‘press’! He was so excited and almost opened it for a piece right away. 😊

Pretty purple in the desert

I chose to start this one first

After 2 sessions, I'm liking it very much.

He had more plane stuff to do but was working inside because of the wind, so I took one of my new puzzles to the clubhouse and began. I took the easier one (I think) so I can warm up to the multi-coloured more challenging one.  By noon, a couple of hours later, I returned home for lunch. We had some of that wonderful fresh-baked bread and I finished the white bean chili.

One of Gibbs' favourite spots
when Mom and Daddy are in different rooms.
He gets a cool breeze through the sliding door
and fits perfectly on the step.
PS - he can see through the glass door too.

Because Pokeno was on the calendar for 1 pm on Mondays, I took my pennies over even though I didn’t think there were any players here in the park. Well, none that I’ve seen. True enough, Sue and I were the only ones present so I worked on the puzzle, quite contentedly. I do hope that changes for next week, I enjoyed it once I started in the spring. At 3, I returned home again after making some pretty good progress.

Walking out here on the road has Gibbs
looking both ways.

Bill and Gibbs were watching tv, it’s too windy to be doing anything like reading or puttering outside, so I wasn’t surprised. I made my tea and when it was done, Gibbs and I went for another walk around the small block. We both probably need the exercise. When I got back, Bill told me that Sheila and Randy just drove by, they were out of town since Friday. I walked down to say hello and give hugs for the loss of their sweet Benji.

He isn't walking alone either.

For supper, I had Rosy air fry 2 meaty chicken thighs and I cooked rice on the side with a vegetable. We wanted to eat early because of the time zones, our NCIS and NCIS:Origins were on at 6 pm here. Supper was good and cleaned up on time to watch both. We’re still a bit confused with what times we can catch certain of our favourite shows. We’ll get there!

Supper tasted good.
It even looks good!

This has been a quiet day. Gibbs and I each got a couple of walks in (at least) and I feel good about that. The winds began dying down a bit and we managed to reach a high temp of 72F/23C. It will get a bit cooler overnight but that won’t hurt too badly. 😊

Came across this the other day, made me chuckle
since I have enough free time.
Good night!

Thank you for your pop in visit! Comments are always welcome!

  1. Say Hi to Sheila for me ... so sorry they lost Benji. I'm hoping the park regulars come back for Poker Pool. That is definitely the puzzle I would have picked first. It looks easy for you!!

    1. I will! Thank you! I doubt they will, it is kind of a tender situation, I think.

    1. The winds are never fun but we are glad not to be out in the desert. We at least have some shelter.
