Sunday – Comin’ Down Nicely

Park Place RV Park

On Sunday, Nov. 17th our routine changed a bit because it was laundry day. I woke up at 6:30 and rolled onto my back. Gibbs took that as an invite to come over and plop himself across my chest and give Momma a nice kiss on the mouth. Ha ha, he is quite the character. Usually, he lifts his head and when he finds me not moving towards him, he puts his head down until my next movement.

Good morning!

At least I got some lovin’ before he went on the search for Monkey. I’m usually second fiddle these days. 😊 So, told him to go back to sleep and at 6:50 we stretched and got up. Bill was dozing downstairs so I started sorting the dirty clothes for today’s wash. Two loads as usual, but they don’t seem as full since we aren’t changing our outer clothes as often. There were no jeans or long pants in these loads.

When we walked in the door, there was some Tom-foolery
by a certain someone.
For attention, our slippers are the quickest thing he can grab.
If he is in the right mood, he'll drop it for you and fetch your other one.
Look at those eyes!πŸ’—

Bill carried the basket over and helped load before he left for the field. I had my tea at home until time to swap machines and then headed out for my walk. I had 45 minutes before the dryers were done. It was a cool morning, 44F/7C on the thermometer but with no wind, I took a chance and only layered in a light hoody. It was perfect, I didn’t need the gloves that I left back at home either. 😊

It's a beautiful morning!
The desert is around us, I may venture back there
to find a Saguaro. They are rarer here in town.

After I returned, I retrieved and folded our clothes, putting mine away before I took care of the dusting on the main level. Then, Gibbs’ favourite thing, I got the big central vac out. He watched me the whole time but didn’t move from his perch on my recliner until I actually got real close. I think he is more afraid of the Dirt Devil and dust mop! Told you he was a character!

When I say you can boondock pretty much anywhere,
this motor home has been parked out here, free, since we arrived.

With the ‘chores’ done, I took him out for his walk to which he piddled and stopped in his tracks. “No thanks, Mom, I’m good”. We came in and I left him to go to the puzzle. This puzzle was supposed to be easy (ier!) but it sure isn’t. Susan, where are you? 😊 I plugged away for an hour and a half and chit chatted with Sue during the puzzle plopping process, not making much plopping. LOL

At noon, Bill and I both returned home around the same time for lunch. We had our cold meat, cheese and lettuce sandwiches on keto bread and with another offer to Gibbs, I was refused once more. At 2:00, I sat in the gazebo and read a few chapters for half hour. The wind had picked up so the shelter was nice and so was the heat from the sun coming in through the screen.

Not a cloud in the sky today

I returned to the puzzle and this time made better headway. Not great, not leaps and bounds but at least some encouraging positive plopping. 😊 Once more, Bill and I returned home between 4 and 4:30. This afternoon he surprised me (so to speak) by picking up a bike rack for the back of our rig. Wha??? He knows I like riding a bike but we have not been able to bring one with us so I’ve sold a few.

This fellow was so anxious to get rid
of it that he asked Bill for $20 only.
Bonus!

A fellow in the park gave him a deal he couldn’t refuse so now we just need to see what kind of second had bike I can fine. There are nice paved roads around here that I’ll be happy to traverse without being on a main highway. An electric bike would be awesome but it isn’t in the budget nor would it fit on this rack anyway. Just a bike is enough for me!

Not leaps and bounds but some progress.

I made a tea, tried Gibbs again and ended up going for my walk alone. No discomfort after yesterday so that is good, great actually! For supper, we planned simple tonight. Grilled cheese sandwiches and pickles. I’ll use up my sour dough bread in the freezer since it makes the absolute best in my opinion! Bill has another new movie tonight at 6 so I will be watching The Floor with Rob Lowe. The contestants are thinning out slowly. It’s fun to watch.πŸ˜€

Still love seeing the sun drop behind the mountains.

This has been a great day. Not a cloud in the sky all day so it was a plain Jane sunset. I had to repost M’s apartment ad again as his prospects from 2 weeks ago fell through AGAIN! That man just needs a stretch of good fortune, doesn’t he? I hope you have had the good fortune of a wonderful Sunday. We had a pleasant high of 69F/21C today so no complaints there!

PS, from my commenters if the post office workers are still on strike over Christmas, our Christmas cards will be an Easter treat! πŸ˜‚

Not quite sure why this fun pictures of Ladyfest
popped up on my phone, but it made me laugh.
After surviving the Escape Room, we got silly.
Good night!

Thanks for the visit!

  3. That Gibbs is definitely a character. He wants what he wants and obviously let's you know what's what.
Good luck finding a bike. I'm sure you'll find a deal, maybe at a nearby garage sale.

  5. Looks as if Gibbs is begging for some loving with that slipper in his mouth. I hope you find a bike at the perfect price. I keep hinting for an electric bike, but Harvey just looks at me and shakes his head.... I am very rusty when it comes to riding a bike.

    God bless.

    1. Electric bikes are so expensive, I can't see it being in the budget for a while - if ever. I understand totally 'the look' from our spouses when we suggest certain things. In this case, it is Bill's idea.
