The Suite and Black Beauty - Bath Time!

Yuma Lakes RV Resort

On Wednesday, Mar. 26th before I even got downstairs, Bill informed me he was going outside to take Lila and the generator off the back of the Suite. We had an appointment for Elite Power Wash to come and wash and wax both vehicles. The price was too good to refuse. We had our breakfast together and after I took Gibbs to the dog park to sniff a bit, I left Bill at home and walked to the Shuffleboard courts for 9:15.

Good morning!
Starting out with clouds today.
The top unit is quite impressive, picture worthy.

Gibbs enjoyed some new sniffs
all by himself.

There is the Suite
with her panels raised.

I met the 2 fellows in the Elite van pulled up beside me to ask for directions. That was easy since it was our site! I did ask them to do a good job. Seemed like a couple of nice young men. As for Shuffleboard, I'm not good at this game, (have I said that?) but it is a social outing and I enjoy trying  with other park guests. I won one game but came in at the bottom for total score. 😅 George put the pucks and sticks away for the season, that being the last scheduled game. When I walked

It was fun while it lasted!

They were good workers

When I walked back, the boys were still working on the Suite. I believe that what would normally take them 1 1/2 hours was dragged on to over 2 because the pump motor kept shutting off on them. How unfortunate and they apologized to Bill and me, once I returned, a few times. It wasn't there fault.

A few selfies while waiting

Bottom line, we sat outside in the shade and watched them finish up. I walked around with a critical eye, as I'd heard some 'iffy' remarks about their work, and was more than pleased. Not one thing seemed untouched and both vehicles shone.

Woowheee!
Look at those sparkles!

We paid up and gave them a tip to share. The Suite and Black Beauty were just grinning! We had lunch and then dozed inside. It was another hot day, although 5 degrees cooler than yesterday. I walked to the pool at 2:30 and had a couple of dips in between some sun and shade sitting with my book. It has been a great story and it will be finished tonight. The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes is a recommended read, in my opinion. 😊

I had a partly cloudy pool time
but it was still very refreshing.
Bill was putting the panels down.

Bill was putting the panels down when I returned and said that even the roof was done well. We had fish and chips for supper, and leftover cauliflower replaced chips on my plate. Bill finished the strawberries and I had unsweetened applesauce with yogourt for dessert. It was all very good. The Floor and Survivor are on tonight, starting at 7 pm here so that will keep us entertained for much of the evening.

A commenter asked what kind of burgers
we were eating.
I don't know if we have these at home
so we'll go back to our usual when we return.

We reached a high of 95F/35C, dropping off to a more 'sleepable' 60F/16C overnight. Each day, the temperatures diminish and that is good. It is too soon for the 90's, so say the locals. This was a great day and we accomplished what we wanted to. One more day here before we pull up our feet and move on.

Supper was good.
Good night!

Thank you for your visit.

Low-Key Day

Yuma Lakes RV Resort

On Tuesday, Mar. 25th we were in for another scorcher. We're not complaining at all BUT when this day is over, we know we couldn't survive here in the summer. 😓Kudos to those who do. We were up and at 'em at our usual time with the early routines taken care of before 9. I took Gibbs out for a quick, very quick, walk as it was warming up quickly. Before 8:30, Bill climbed up on the roof and raised our solar panels, preparing for the wash in the morning. Good time to do it.

Good morning!

Bill and I slipped our hats on and walked up the hill for Bocce Ball. There were 9 of us in attendance but only 8 played since it has to be an even number. The park manager was happy to sit out and keep us kids in line. 😀 I won't lie, it was darn hot so we all found shade in between games. I won 2 games and had fun but had to hop in the shower immediately upon our return to the Suite.

Bill going for a win?

Sometimes, that doesn't work as I felt just as hot after I'd dried off. Took me a while too cool down. Bill nipped into town to Southwest Exchange when he discovered one of our 10' dump hoses had a leak. I stayed home with Gibbs and caught up on some more reading until Bill returned.

Gibbs and I relaxed on the couch.
He's a ball of heat and soon moved to the
cooler floor, thank goodness!

We had lunch and the remainder of the day was holed up inside in the Suite. The a/c is set between 78F and 80F (25C and 27C) it had a hard time keeping up. It reached 100F/38C.

It was a good supper.
I used the air fryer and stove
rather than the oven.

For supper, we had boneless chicken thighs, potatoes, cauliflower and corn. There are a few leftovers for another night or two and it tasted delicious. We finished off the last small piece each of the Caramel Apple Cheesecake. We caught up on Reacher's latest episode and it didn't disappoint, leaving our hearts in our throats as it ended. It has been a low-key day and it was just fine.

I had a text from Bette at
Park Place RV Park. She informed me
that they finished the puzzle I left.
Yay! Great job!
Good night!

Thank you for stopping by.
