The Ridge
On Tuesday, July 7th, we both woke up knowing we had a work day ahead of us. As much as Bill enjoyed his 2 weeks off, he stressed about what $$ wasn't going into our winter travel accounts. That's where much of it comes from, our part time jobs. Also for our hobbies.
Good morning!
Last night's sunset from inside
the Suite.
I was too lazy to get up so
this is from my recliner,
looking back through the window.
So, he'd decided to take Jazz for a couple of days since the drive to the job site, Wingham, is an hour. No rain in the forecast until Thursday so he 'saddled' up and headed out just as I was getting myself out of bed at 6:50. Should be a nice ride.

Getting tired of them yet? I'm still counting. This adds 3 more.
I was ready 15 minutes later and headed in to clean the Mat. Robin texted last night and asked if I could clean again today at the bnb. Of course! I'm as keen on earning extra cash too. My hobby is a much smaller expense so the more I make, the more I can help those accounts.

The sky made for a pretty
drive into town this morning
at 7.
Things need to pick up and stay copesthetic in order for us to head south in October. The alternative right now is not pleasant. I dreamt about it early this morning before I woke up. Okay, moving on! The Mat was empty but there were 5 additional 'Sorry' notes on washers. 🫣

This jumps to Williamsford.
3 adults and they waited until the
last minute to wash the dishes.
The cleaner will dry them and put
them away.
Who does that?
I retrieved coin from machines and responded accordingly. As it turned out, only 2 complaints were legit, and one of those was because the HOT button doesn't work and no water is released. I put a note on about using only WARM or COLD on that machine and it tested fine.

Madame IP has just
finished the 'release' of
the eggs.
I left the place clean as a whistle, odd analogy isn't it? 🤣🤭
I returned home, stopping at Robins for some sweet peas for a vase and a full barbecue tank. At home, Gibbs and I hung outside in the shade for a bit until mosquitoes found me. I decided to get the mower out and start on the lawn, since I had a couple of hours.

I was surprised when Gibbs walked
down to get mail with me this
afternoon.
There was a fair bit of shade and
he stayed in it, mostly.
That didn't quite work out so well. Even though i was sure it had a full charge, it kept sounding like it was dying. I did a small area and gave up. I plugged it in for another 24 hours and will give it a go tomorrow. I'm glad Bill is working on a floor 'inside' this week, the humidity isn't letting up.

I found shade in the King's chairs
under the tree.
This was where Gibbs chose to rest.
I returned to Williamsford today for 11:30. Guests are to be out at 11. Some, however, don't abide by rules and the International (that's all I will say) family of 3 adults and 1 teen (from what I could tell) took their time and were just starting to assemble in the foyer at 11:30 when I arrived. LOL
I'm patient as a rule but when you break the rules, I'm not so much. So, I parked right at the end of the lane, off to the side and waited with Ptooties running. I messaged Robin, she wants to know these details, and sat there for another 10 minutes until they got the hint and pulled out onto the curb to do her map googling. 🤷♀️

My view, Gibbs is still
under the Suite, sleeping.
Inside, the place wasn't bad, they left an open bag of garbage and one of recycling on the entry step and lots of dishes across the counter top. Obviously they did no dishes last night after a meal so they all needed to be dried and put away.
I went about stripping the beds, those where they slept in the sheets. Such an odd custom, sleeping on top of the quilts instead, but it is what it is, I suppose. Two sets of sheets were undisturbed, exactly how I left them yesterday with my signature tuck on the top sheet. 🤷♀️

This book is so hard to put down!
When all was done, I realized they used up the last roll of paper towels. Robin missed that part of the list I sent her so I nipped downtown Williamsford and picked some up. The garbage and recycle bins were emptied so I moved them out of the way, dropped today's garbage in and left for home.
Ptooties' gas tank was nearing the 1/4 mark so I drove into Durham and fueled her up at $1.55/litre. Back home, Gibbs was patiently waiting at the door as I made my way in. I had turned our inverter on again today and unplugged but now second guessing that decision.

That must have felt good!
Kind of like my morning stretches do.
I told Bill I'd make a bit of egg salad for him for a couple of days so Madame IP stepped up to the plate and volunteered. 🤭 Oh! On the way home from the bnb, I drove by a bunch of stuff in front of a house, at the road. FREE! said the sign. I did a u-e (haha) when something caught my eye.
Most of it was toys - no thanks, but this is exactly what I need! ⬇️

Look what I found along the highway FREE!
So, now I have the makings of my sign! I put the mower away, closed up the shed and took a look at Lila sitting there so pretty - and sad. I have to sell her so I wanted to look her over so I know what to tell Robin.
She is going to put her in her sale but also advertise her on Marketplace. She has a good name on there and will do better than I would. 👍🤞
Since it was warm inside, I sprayed myself with the mosquito repellent my friend, Brenda, makes and went out with my book and my pooch to try the shade again. It wasn't too bad and the bugs left me alone for a while. Gibbs dug a hole in the gravel under the Suite and slept. 🥰
Bill was home safely at 5 and after changing into shorts hopped on the Cub Cadet. The berm and corral hill needed cutting and he didn't know when he'd be able to do it if not tonight. It didn't take him long and he even did a lot of what I wasn't able to finish up here.

Supper turned out really tasty!
For supper, I fried him a pork chop and Rosy air fried 2 chicken thighs. I steamed some broccoli and nuked a potato for Bill. It was all very good! However, it got very hot in here very quickly but I wasn't going to ask him to bbq tonight. It was a good day with some jobs done.
Around 7, no, he's not done yet, he drove over to Dot and Gord's to patch a few wall holes to prepare to paint. He offered to do what he could while they were away and it was an offer they couldn't refuse. He is a sucker for punishment but mainly because he has such a good heart. 💖

I found this on the Park Place RV Park's website. I have no right to complain.......... well, except for the humidity we have and they don't.
I cleaned up the dishes after he made his egg salad sandwich for tomorrow and worked on my blog. I hope you've managed to keep cool today if you are experiencing these hot temperatures. We reached 26.67C/80F again today.

This was from July 7th, 2022. My Moonflowers were plentiful then too. Good night!
Thank you for stopping by!

Busy day for both of you. I do admit to sleeping on top of the blankets when the house feels too warm. We run the a/c at 75F. But it does seem a little unusual.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the sale of Lila.
