A Cooler Day but..........Not Really

The Ridge

On Monday, July 6th, it happened. Bill went back to work. He was up early and I kept dropping off upstairs, enjoying that fresh air from our bedroom windows. He met me at the top of the stairs for his goodbye kiss and was off in Black Beauty - today.

Good morning!

I had no where to be until after 11, when guests of the bnb check out, so made my tea and sat at the table with my book. It's so hard to put it down. Gibbs sat behind me, as usual, looking out the window where Daddy disappeared.

5 Moonflowers here
today

Robin texted at 7:15 that her 3 lady guests have checked out. They are from Ottawa and all had nice black Harley's (?) so obviously wanted to get on the road early. That freed me up for time so by 8:30 I was on my way. They were there from June 26 to today so that was a nice stretch.

The plants she has in the big
window wells are so healthy.
Her Orchid is gorgeous!

They really enjoyed the area and the home, washing their towels and bed sheets before they left. Wow! It was nice that Williamsford now has their recycle/garbage bins in play too so I didn't have to drop anything off at Robin's. The town's pick up is this week.

And lookey! One of my first
little ladybugs still nestled in
this one.

On my way home, I stopped at the 6 & 6 Auction site and perused through this week's offerings. We don't really need anything but like to keep an eye on bids on certain items. You never know what might go cheaply enough and if it is something we've ever discussed wanting....we'll bid.

Lots outside but I like looking
inside to see any kitchen-type stuff.
Only a couple things today of interest
for me.

When I got home, the day had warmed up considerably but there was a lovely breeze. Gibbs runs directly to shade while I putter around. I weeded some of my small garden just off the patio and noticed that I'd missed some Moonflowers in two gardens! LOL I forgot those plants!

I took the back roads home
to avoid the construction on
Hwy #6 since I didn't need to drop
anything off at Robin's.

I had debated cutting my grass but decided to stake up my tomato plants instead. They are growing so tall, (is that good? is there such a thing as too tall?), and bushy that I was scrounging the property for tall sticks and/or stakes. Bill snuck in on Gibbs and I when we were up at the garden plants. He doesn't usually fool Gibbs.

I got home. Let Gibbs out and
he disappeared within seconds.
Found him!
I'm sure he thinks I can't see him.
I gathered the bird feeders and he
just watched from here.
💕

Robin had messaged to see if Bill would be able to cut her home grass on the weekend as well as the location in town they are getting ready for renting out. She will be away for a few days. He'll be busy but since it is only once, likely, and he has always done it for her, he said yes.

So, the little garden in front of the
patio - 2 Moonflowers past bloomed.
One more at the ready.

Seems things always happen at once but we aren't complaining and if I can help in anyway, I most certainly will. He had a nap and I drank ice water rather than a tea today. It meant I would be good and hungry for supper, without that extra fat (cream) in my system.

And the one by the woodpile.
I missed that one too!
Such a scrawny plant, never thought
it would bloom at all.
LOL

I worked on my blog and slowly cooled down from being in the garden. It seems I just can't handle the heat as much anymore. I know my sister, Donna, says that too. Anyway, I only have to clean the Mat in the morning so will get the grass cut early morning before the heat sets in.

Bill grilled the sausage he didn't want last night along with a couple of chicken patties for me. I heated the gravy and had that for my supper. It was awful. I don't know who I was kidding, me mostly. The Great Value chicken burgers are such a waste of money.

Gibbs lays down in the shade while
I stake up my plants.

I never thought chicken in a bun sounded good but when I was searching for something to eat when  Bill had a pork chop - that's what I thought I'd try. Blech. I ate 3/4 of it, doused in gravy/sweet & sour sauce, s & p and the other one went in the garbage. I wouldn't even give it to Gibbs. Live & learn.

Every so often, a new toy
comes out to get some loving
from their 'owner'.
Today, it was Piggy that
got the cuddles.
💗

Bill made his lunch and popped over to see Gord with some final instructions on the job he's going to do for them. I'm just watering for Dot so I've got that down 'pat'. Teehee. 🤭 There is nary a breeze out there and the humidity is still 82%. A hot and sticky 26.6C/80F.

I'll find something to watch again tonight, last night's movie was At First Sight with Val Kilmer. It was pretty good - based on a true story. I hope you had a good day as I did.

Hmm, a cute red microwave
at the auction. I'll be watching
for the outcome.
Good night!

Thanks for your visit and always for your comments and support.
