Another Long Day Off the Books but Oh it was Great!

The Ridge

So, actually, Tuesday, Oct. 13th was not on the Ridge at all. 🀭 I was up at 7 to join Bill downstairs, we had our showers, spent some time with our little house sitter and left home at 9 am. London was our destination. Just the thought of the 2 1/2 to 3 hour drive made me tired.

Good morning!
A bit of rain before we left.

It was a pretty pleasant drive, little traffic compared to the Fort Erie jaunt on Monday. We had a very warm day, humid and dry. We had highs at home and in London around 27C/81F.. Unbelievable for mid October but we'll take it!

To read his mind might not
be a good thing!
"You guys are leaving me again???"

We arrived at 11:30 so made good time as we wanted to eat lunch before our doctor's appointments at 1.

The sky cleared and we were
very warm in the car.
A/C was helpful.

We went to A & W near the doc's office. I had just the Uncle burger with a small root beer. Skipping the fries but Bill went for the whole shebang. We do enjoy these burgers.

I've heard some good excuses but this
one as to why the washrooms were closed
takes the cake!
I mean, wow!

There was time to kill so I popped into a Shopper's Drug Mart for more Aerius for Gibbs and then we just relaxed in the parking lot for 30 minutes until 12:45. We were accepted in right away and I was surprised that the appointment wasn't for me at all! Because he'd sent us off with blood work requisitions in April and made this appointment, we assumed we'd both be 'seen'.

The doctor's office on Barker St.
is away from downtown, tg.

My bloodwork was for a cholesterol check only but I was still surprised he didn't need to talk about it...........as doctor's do. Let me make it clear that I was thrilled with the outcome. My cholesterol in all counts had dropped and I can only credit the Beetroot I've been taking since May. 🀷‍♀️

Fast Time kiosk
at Masonville Mall.
If Bill could have got the back off the watch,
it would have been cheaper but....
there you have it!

I was determined to argue if he insisted on a statin, not doing it so thankfully I can forget that - after all my stewing about it. LOL Bill's check up was great as well, some improvements in certain areas and his weight loss is awesome. So! We're healthy again and it is only Bill that needs to go back in the spring.

From there, we drove to Costco to pick up a handful (or more like an armful) of last minute stock up items. We were in and out with only one thing extra within 20 minutes. More time for relaxing as we weren't expected for dinner at friends until 4 pm. We drove to Masonville Mall and Bill got a battery for his good watch.

We had a pre-dinner drink
and Terri showed Bill and I the new
fish in Derrick's pond.

At a few minutes before 4, we drove to Derrick's home, within the city limits. Good friends Jim & Sharon had just arrived greeted by our hosts and Jeff & Lydia arrived a few minutes later. The gang is all here! These are longtime friends and we try to get together in the spring and fall.

We all voted for Jeff to cut and serve the
lasagna. 🀭
He didn't get a vote and did awesome.

Supper was delicious with everyone participating in the meal. Lasagna, garlic toast, Caesar salad and a delectable Tuxedo cake for dessert. Yummy! We felt we had to kind of eat and run so happy we had a chance to visit before eating, We left at 7:30 after great hugs and promises for a reunion in the new year.

A delicious meal!

Gibbs was waiting patiently for us when we pulled in at 9:30. 🐢He wasn't too hard done by since Dot, from next door, visited him 3 times during the day and early evening. She is such a sweet lady and loves seeing our little rascal. Thank you Dot! πŸ₯° We sat for a while before I began falling asleep and went to bed at 10. Bill wasn't too far behind, I don't think! 😴

Terri and Sharon
served up the Tuxedo cake.
It was so good!!
πŸ˜‹

It was a great day. Good news at the doctor's and a wonderful time with friends.

The cake was good but
the real icing on the cake was
this group of friends
getting together.

The long traveling 'errand' days are behind us so time to focus on the short trips to get things done.

Enough with the night driving!
(and I was just a passenger)

Our little guy was very good
back home.
Could be stink eye again?
Good night!

Thank you for your visit. You are always welcome!
