We Heard it Was Coming

The Ridge

On Monday, May 12th I was up before 7 and on my way into town by 7:30. Bill wasn’t needed at work today so he had the day off. What a great opportunity for us to take a drive to Guelph Costco and pick up a few (hahaha) things. Our list kept getting longer, day by day.

Good morning!

The drive to town
along Baptist Church Road.

I had the Mat clean within the hour and after meeting another nice lady, Trudy, I was on my way home. It’s possible that she ‘could’ be a winter replacement for me, if it comes to that. 😊 Today, we woke up to a warmer morning than it has been and with clear sky again, the promise was that heat was on its way.

I was home by 9ish and Bill and I left Gibbs in charge while we went shopping. He doesn’t like shopping anyway. The drive wasn’t too busy but once we got to Fergus, we were stunned that the detours through and around town from last fall were still in effect. Oh well, we squirmed our way around and arrived, as is typical, to a FULL parking lot.

I was driving, holding my camera to my left.
watching the road
and captured this lovely shot.
No talent required, pure luck.

We filled our cart, picking up 3 cases of water for Robin’s bnb, and got the heck out of Dodge. That was a big chunk out of our bank account but we are quite stocked up. The large quantities are priced well for us small town dwellers. 😊 Guelph is about an hour and a half so we like to take advantage of each trip. We’d talked about a bike ride this afternoon but it wasn’t a ‘for sure’.

This parking lot is always busy,
at any time, on any day.

Since it was 12:30, we stopped at the A & W for our Uncle burger combos (they were so good but I was so bad!).

Their burgers are always thick
and juicy. They never let us down.

My sciatica was acting up for the whole drive home and for some reason, we were both really tired when we returned, unloaded and stored stuff away. Bill stretched out with Gibbs on his recliner and I went upstairs. That did it for me. It was quite warm up there and I was more tired than I thought, sleeping until almost 4! I was pain free while I slept.

while in charge

The black flies are still nasty so outside sitting wasn’t a good idea and who knows what the bike ride would add to my already full-blown discomfort. We stayed put. Too bad, it would have been a good day to get out on Jazz. We’ll go when I’m feeling good and that will be a true test for me. 😊

Supper, ooey gooey good
on sour dough bread.

Bill went to the Hangar, supper would be minor, grilled cheese, because we ate a big lunch. The heat has definitely arrived but we know it is only a brief visit. We reached 28C/83F by mid-afternoon.

Yes, it is an awning day.

My nap today was special to me and maybe explains why I didn’t want to wake up. It was a dream about some family gathering and a couple of sisters were in it but especially Daddy. ♥♥ I was sitting beside him and he was typically the father I remember, smiling over a little trick he was pulling. It has been a while so I truly enjoyed this visit with him.

Because I didn't get a lot of pics today.
Let's go down memory lane.

We climbed Q mountain with
Gerry and Melinda.

Gibbs isn’t bothered by the flies, his coat is too thick, so preferred to sit outside in the shady spots. He could keep an eye on the Suite where Mom was and, on the Hangar, where Dad was.

Jan. 28, 2017

It was a good day, lazy afternoon. Clouds have moved in by 5ish and there is talk of some possible rain for the next 4 days. LOL

Back to the present.
Because Donna & Gerry collect our
mail over the winter for us,
we had Marlon Brando in
Los Algodones paint this for their
front entryway.
Good night!

Thank you for stopping by.
