Merry Christmas Everyone Near and Far!πŸŽ„πŸŽπŸ€ΆπŸŽ…

Park Place Rv Park

Our day, Thursday, Dec. 25th started off by getting up by 7:30. I should say 'my' day. Bill was up at his normal 6 am time. he has a built in alarm clock, even if he doesn't set it.

Good morning!
Did Santa come?

We got dressed and had our morning brew while emptying our stockings. The most fun was watching Gibbs retrieve his 2 new stuffies. This time, Rocky Racoon (with no stuffing) and a .....well, we can't figure out what he is. Penguin, maybe. Matters not, Gibbs loves him and will have fun making him thin. πŸ’•

Why, yes. yes, he did come.

Bill had decided to take a drive over to the field, not to fly, just to see who was there and wish them a Merry Christmas. I had decided to make another batch of dinner rolls, since some may want more than one. It would be nice if some were left for us, but not too many.

Gibbs found his new toys
and a relationship has formed.

Woops! Rocky has a hole in 60 minutes.

Your guess is as good as mine
to what this look means.
πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

Bill wasn't gone long but whilst he was away, Gibbs and I took our Christmas Day walk together. Time for a selfie, Gibbs! It's like he knows what to expect and usually I can get him to look at the camera within the alotted 10 second timer. πŸ˜€πŸ’•

A clear Christmas Day.
No snow, few clouds, 72F/20C

Back home, while the buns were shaped and rising, I put a packet together for Addy, Sue's granddaughter. She showed great interest in learning how to quill and admitted that it would be good for her, 'and my ADHD and other ailments'. (her words)

Selfies with Gibbs

She's a cutie and caught on quick with my brief lesson. I sent her off with a few things to get her started. Her mom, grandma were also grateful. She will have fun with it and probably surpass my talents! Good job!

After the rain, which wasn't a lot,
wet pavement and puddles.

The girls/ladies had started the same puzzle Nancy and I just finished so I wasn't interested in joining in. I sat with my boys for a while until lunch when we had toast and pb. With a big meal at 3, we didn't want to eat too much.

No, your toys do NOT come outside.
It is so hard to say no to this face.

The rice krispie squares were probably a dud because the marshmallows were stale......no worries. The caramel butter squares will be okay but not perfect. Hopefully, there will be enough pie to satisfy the 28 guests. I don't know why more people don't take part here, but they don't.

An unexpected photo but I wanted
you to see his Christmas shirt. πŸ’—

My rolls were done and looking great. I made 36. Bill had his snooze, as did Gibbs, and I started my blog and got cleaned up for the day. There were 28 attendees at the potluck, and enough food for 40, easily. I worried about dessert squares and I think 3 were taken, 2 by Bill and I. LOL

People love pie, I guess. 😊 The rolls were a hit but I brought quite a few of those home too. I didn't need to make that batch this morning. Bill brought our stuff home, leftover rolls, dirty dishes, glasses, my wine, and I stayed back and helped clean up.

I brought some ham bits home for Gibbs and some ham pieces home for supper another night. I'll freeze some rolls for another night as well. Bill left for night flying at 5 and I heard Fred and Sue's sons and grandsons (& Addy) leave in their quad to go watch.

The kids next door were going to the
field to see the night flyers.

It has been a beautiful Christmas Day. I talked via messenger to my oldest grandson, he calls himself my favourite and I don't correct him, we laugh, and it was nice to realize that he started the conversation and he was thinking of us. πŸ’“

I watched Gilmore Girls until he returned. Last night I tried to watch It's a Wonderful Life but my dvd wouldn't play. Instead I watched Jimmy Stewart's Harvey, which I'd never seen. A cute movie for sure.

Good night!

We did manage to make our phone calls this morning, connecting with all of our children, Marilynne, one of Bill's sisters (Liz was unreachable) and Donna and Gerry. Everyone is mostly well, aside from a few colds.

Thank you for your Christmas visit. Merry Ho-Ho and thank you all for your comments on my silly blog yesterday, I was just in 'the' mood. πŸ˜‰

Christmas Eve - 2025

Park Place RV Park (you are forewarned, pictures are random from today)

'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the Suite,

Not a puppy was barking, he was begging for treats.

Puppy and Pilot

The pilot was off on a journey to the north, rather than flying, he was taking care of our Ford.

The Parker garage was making her well, with new batteries and oil, was all I could tell.

Cloudy skies

The wife was up early, to bid them adieu, and found herself walking with the ladies, it's true!

Since the puppy was waiting, they walked together 'round the park, the sky was quite cloudy but it t'wasn't too dark.

Some of my previous designs.
Nancy's cowboy boot.

Coffee and treats at the clubhouse was fun, the hostess looked after her park guests with buns.

There was 'puzzling' as well so the wife took her place, fitting in pieces, as the others made space.

Manager and her girls.
Addy, Brandy, Elizabeth and Danielle

The rest of the day was as plain as could be, until the wife had bad results, with her Rice Krispeees.

They would not be fodder for the potluck at all, no one would eat them, not the big folk or small.

They started this last night.
1,000 pieces, done by 7 or 8 of us.

The second dessert was disappointing as well, "nothing is working", she cried, as her hopes deeply fell. 😟

At least she kept going with the bread machine rolls, they never have failed, that's the truth to be told!

Black Beauty adorned for the season

Lunch

It could be cupcakes for Christmas, hope the park guests don't mind, but can she make icing, from scratch, and "what kind?"

For supper, 'twas easy for a Christmas eve meal. Chicken with rice soup for two, yes, that was the deal.

Supper

As the evening progressed, more rain was but brief, it tiptoed quite bravely, 'cross the roof like a thief.

Wait though, was it Santa? Did he find our dear Suite? Should we be in bed early? Turn lights off, tout suite?

We did see some blue skies, not much,
but as I write this at 7 pm, it is lightly
raining again.

One last note for the evening, with a classic movie on screen, One large birthday greeting for Krystal, may it be the best that you've seen! πŸ’–

Good night!

A little silliness for your Christmas eve! Merry Christmas to one and all!

You Win Some, You Lose Some, Possible Rain?

Park Place RV Park

On Tuesday, Dec. 23rd, 2 days before the big day, I slept in until a few minutes before 7 and didn't get up until 7:30. Lazy, lazy bones! It was wonderful not to have to be anywhere - at - all.

Good morning!

Bill was downstairs, well into his breakfast cereal. I made the bed, measured the duvet cover since I want a new one, and joined my sweeties in the 'dining' room, aka where the table is. πŸ˜… Today is possibly going to be a day with some rain showers. πŸ™…We'll see.

This is a bit of a funny picture.
Gibbs was behind me on my dining chair
and laid his head on my back, waiting for
Mom to look at him.
I had to take it as a selfie, looking over
my shoulder.

Bill was not deterred, since it wasn't expected until 4 pm. He went flying before 8. I just got lazier and sat with Gibbs in my chair with a cup of tea and my phone games in my hand. They didn't take long but then I found an app for a 'real person' Euchre game. I had fun playing, eating up my battery.

My camera lens was dirty
so I will blame that for the blur.

Gibbs and I went for his walk and then I decided I needed to adorn one more card envelope. My friend, Linda, whom I met at Jess's class last winter and whom now comes to play Pokeno and Poker Pool with us, is the recipient. She'll appreciate the quilled flower. πŸ’•

All done!
It's a very nice Christmas picture
and was fun to do with Nancy.

I walked over to finish the puzzle, the tree needed to be finished, at 11:10. I timed it for Nancy's benefit and when finished, reported my time to her. Teehee. Bill said that Black Beauty gave him grief (took a few minutes to start) at the flying field when he was ready to leave.

The sky was like this all day.

He picked me up at the entrance of the park and drove to Ironwood to pick up a parcel. He didn't want to turn the truck off while he ran inside. I played 'security'. Back home, we had lunch together, where he finished off the taco mixture on a sloppy Joe. I had toast and the last of the homemade strawberry jam. Yum!

I don't think I've seen this fellow
before. He had such a bright red head!

In case you are wondering, BB has an appointment in the early morning for an oil change and a check up to see what is going on. We're pretty sure it is a battery but a check up doesn't hurt. Cha-ching! She's worth it, so we'll not grumble too much. πŸ˜‰

I think I came home with about the
same amount as I went with.

At 1, I walked over to play Pokeno. I know Deb has gone but I want her to know that I happily played with some of her pennies and came home after a few wins and one of the two Blackouts. My container has been refilled! P.S. Linda really liked her card.

No change when Gibbs
and I walked.
The sky was an interesting colour,
not noticeable here in this photo.

Back home, I took Gibbs for his walk around the park and we made it home within minutes of the rain. Well, the first shower of about 25 drops. It did return off and on until supper and just before supper, we had the most beautiful double rainbow. Pictures do not do it justice.

Peeking out our west facing
window, the sun was setting
behind the mountains.

We watched a Christmas Hallmark movie, I've learned just to accept them as part comedy and part love story, and while Bill dozed through it, I worked on quilling for my 'possible' spring market sales. I won't be making any more Christmas decorations so I pulled out my dollar store finds.

When I noticed the Suite getting brighter
from an outside light, this is what I saw.
Incredible double rainbow.
Again, no picture justice here.

Bill and I were totally in awe.

We had baked pork chops for supper, with a salad and I added aparagus spears and cottage cheese. It was good but Bill had to finish my large chop. They still are not my favourite meat source but they werea change. πŸ˜‹

Looking east, even the mountains
under the rainbow were gorgeous.

Today was a good day, they just keep on stacking up. We only reached 65F/17C but still nice. Tomorrow, I will start making the things I need for our Christmas potluck. Stay tuned!

Good night!

Thank you for stopping by.

The Week Begins and Nancy Departs (Temporarily)

Park Place RV Park

On Monday, Dec. 22nd I was in no rush to get up. My sleep was interrupted a couple of times in the wee hours, I think I was too warm, had me tossing and turning so I lazed for a few extra minutes until 7:30.

Good morning!

I knew Nancy was leaving this morning around 8:30 so I wanted to be ready to say goodbye. Bill was ready for the field but popped next door first for his hug and to pass on good travel vibes. 😁 When I saw she was close to pulling out, Gibbs and I went over for our own hugs and messages.

Bill was first to say his
goodbyes and see ya laters.

Then it Gibbs' and my turn.
I took him for a little walk but my leg was numb (that's after doing the exercises!) so we returned home by 9:15.

I realized that I didn't get a picture of
Nancy and her little partner, Cooper.
But then I looked at this picture before
she left.......and I guess I did!
He's such a sweetheart and adores his Mama.
(yes, I missed Jonathan chatting to me)

As I walked over to the clubhouse with my coffee mug and pool cue, Linda pulled in right after me.

Sometimes, when a guest leaves,
staff is grateful.
'Nuff said.

There were 6 of us to start and we ended up at 11:45 with just 4 left. No matter how many, I've been pretty close to the bottom when we finish. I need practice! πŸ˜‚ We did have fun though and a lot of laughs in the process.

Cards for staff

Home for lunch with Bill and then instead of rushing back to work on the puzzle, I worked on my last 3 (I think) Christmas cards for the hosts here in the park. The cards are normal so the envelopes needed to be spruced up. I used shredded paper for the white and it was perfect.

Just the tree left, Nancy.
I will tackle it tomorrow on your behalf. πŸ˜…

When they were done and set to dry from the Mod Podge I used, it was just before 3. I wandered over to work on the puzzle. Nancy told me to finish it! Well, by 4:30, it wasn't done but I made a real good push. She'll laugh when she sees that only the busy Christmas tree is left to do. Neither of us wanted it.

Back home, Bill was charging batteries for his planes and then took Gibbs for his afternoon walk. I'm happy that we take turns with that. It's good for the little pooch too. Bill went next door to watch Steve work on his big rig, and it meant crawling under it to see. LOL

The sky, still cloudy, still  beautiful,
when I walked home.

Supper was tacos and veggies and dip. They were awesome; ground beef never disappoints me. After clean up, we watched the finale of The Voice but at this stage, I don't yet know the winner but I will before I retire for the night.

I looked out next door to see where
my sweetie was.
Hmmm, yes, those are his legs under
the rig.
I wondered if he was working but no, he
was just watching Steve fix
the purge valve.
Within 1 day, the part was delivered to Q.
At least now, the family can enjoy Christmas
with their parents, Sue and Fred.

It was another lovely day but shrouded with more clouds than we have had lately. The temperature still managed to reach a warm 78F/23C. A great Monday. I hope you are ready for Christmas, it is just a blink away!

Tacos never let me down.
Good night!

Thank you for your visit!

Happy Sunday!

Park Place RV Park

Sunday, Dec. 21st we were up before the birds, well, 6:30 (ish) and had laundry sorted and started by 7. Bill was headed to the field very soon after that. Today, no flying for him; they were finishing laying the carpet in the pilot area.

Good morning!

It always feels good not to have anything too pressing on my plate, unless I want it to be. Today was one of those days. When the laundry was done, I put clothes away and at 9, Gibbs and I went for a nice walk around the park perimeter.

I was enjoying the playfulness
of the sky this morning.

It allowed me to play a bit too.

What a beautiful day! I was hobbling a bit until then but my walk was a good one. I've a couple of new exercises to my routine, passed on from a blog reader (blurker) but so far, I haven't noticed a change. I even did some blocking this morning.

While we watched tv,
Gibbs grew tired of waiting for
bedtime and went to sleep on me.

I'm not too bent out of shape about it all, I do what I can to feel better and before I know it, all is well. πŸ˜‰ Nancy gifted Bill and I with some Flat Iron steak and when chatting, we decided to start a new puzzle.

Cinnamon rolls for lunch

We went to work on it, Bill returned from the field earlier than expected. He also went to work on his wing bags, as Rusty said, he is a man of many talents. At noon, I baked an 8 pack of Pillsbury cinnamon rolls.......of course, Nancy accepted our invitation. I don't want 2 of us eating all 8!!

Nancy and I started the next puzzle
and woops, really did a lot!

Another walk for Gibbs and then I went back to the puzzle. Bill was still sewing, grumbling at the thread breaking (far too often), and Nancy joined me at the puzzle. This one is going really fast! I'm enjoying her company very much. Not ever do I have someone to help 'set up' the puzzle!

More sky decor

We called it quits shortly after 4 and Bill had already completed his second pair of bags. Good job is all I can say. 😍He did the planning and sewing by himself with just guidance to feed them through. I'm impressed.

Sue's son arrived

We planned steak for supper, thanks to Nancy, so I washed and pre-cooked the potatoes for baking on the Weber. A distraction took Bill away before he started cooking though. Our hosts' son arrived for the holiday and had an issue on his big rig. πŸ˜• Needless to say, supper was late because had to help out.

Sun dogs meaning a change in weather?

And pink mountains to the easy.

I wrote my blog and just had to wait for my food picture before I could publish it. At 10:03 this morning, we welcomed winter and tonight I saw a beautiful sky with sun dogs circling the sun before it set. Such a pretty picture.

These are Bill's wing bags

Supper was awesome! The baked potatoes were perfect and although we've never eaten such a red (bloody) steak before, it was one of the best I've ever had! I stepped out of my norm and really enjoyed it. Thank you Nancy!

A delicious Sunday steak dinner.

A lovely day, 79F/28C, and I'm sure some a/c's were running throughout the park. Not ours, closed blinds and open windows were enough.

What was that on my plate, you say?
Grilled asparagus spears.
I loved them!
Good night!

Thank you for stopping by.
