Our day, Thursday, Dec. 25th started off by getting up by 7:30. I should say 'my' day. Bill was up at his normal 6 am time. he has a built in alarm clock, even if he doesn't set it.
We got dressed and had our morning brew while emptying our stockings. The most fun was watching Gibbs retrieve his 2 new stuffies. This time, Rocky Racoon (with no stuffing) and a .....well, we can't figure out what he is. Penguin, maybe. Matters not, Gibbs loves him and will have fun making him thin. π
Bill had decided to take a drive over to the field, not to fly, just to see who was there and wish them a Merry Christmas. I had decided to make another batch of dinner rolls, since some may want more than one. It would be nice if some were left for us, but not too many.

Gibbs found his new toys
and a relationship has formed.

| Woops! Rocky has a hole in 60 minutes. |
Bill wasn't gone long but whilst he was away, Gibbs and I took our Christmas Day walk together. Time for a selfie, Gibbs! It's like he knows what to expect and usually I can get him to look at the camera within the alotted 10 second timer. ππ
Your guess is as good as mine
to what this look means.

A clear Christmas Day.
No snow, few clouds, 72F/20C
Back home, while the buns were shaped and rising, I put a packet together for Addy, Sue's granddaughter. She showed great interest in learning how to quill and admitted that it would be good for her, 'and my ADHD and other ailments'. (her words)
She's a cutie and caught on quick with my brief lesson. I sent her off with a few things to get her started. Her mom, grandma were also grateful. She will have fun with it and probably surpass my talents! Good job!

After the rain, which wasn't a lot,
wet pavement and puddles.
The girls/ladies had started the same puzzle Nancy and I just finished so I wasn't interested in joining in. I sat with my boys for a while until lunch when we had toast and pb. With a big meal at 3, we didn't want to eat too much.

| No, your toys do NOT come outside. It is so hard to say no to this face. |
The rice krispie squares were probably a dud because the marshmallows were stale......no worries. The caramel butter squares will be okay but not perfect. Hopefully, there will be enough pie to satisfy the 28 guests. I don't know why more people don't take part here, but they don't.

An unexpected photo but I wanted
you to see his Christmas shirt. π
My rolls were done and looking great. I made 36. Bill had his snooze, as did Gibbs, and I started my blog and got cleaned up for the day. There were 28 attendees at the potluck, and enough food for 40, easily. I worried about dessert squares and I think 3 were taken, 2 by Bill and I. LOL
People love pie, I guess. π The rolls were a hit but I brought quite a few of those home too. I didn't need to make that batch this morning. Bill brought our stuff home, leftover rolls, dirty dishes, glasses, my wine, and I stayed back and helped clean up.
I brought some ham bits home for Gibbs and some ham pieces home for supper another night. I'll freeze some rolls for another night as well. Bill left for night flying at 5 and I heard Fred and Sue's sons and grandsons (& Addy) leave in their quad to go watch.

The kids next door were going to the
field to see the night flyers.
It has been a beautiful Christmas Day. I talked via messenger to my oldest grandson, he calls himself my favourite and I don't correct him, we laugh, and it was nice to realize that he started the conversation and he was thinking of us. π
I watched Gilmore Girls until he returned. Last night I tried to watch It's a Wonderful Life but my dvd wouldn't play. Instead I watched Jimmy Stewart's Harvey, which I'd never seen. A cute movie for sure.
We did manage to make our phone calls this morning, connecting with all of our children, Marilynne, one of Bill's sisters (Liz was unreachable) and Donna and Gerry. Everyone is mostly well, aside from a few colds.
Thank you for your Christmas visit. Merry Ho-Ho and thank you all for your comments on my silly blog yesterday, I was just in 'the' mood. π
