Quartzsite, Az
On Tuesday, Nov. 3rd I had peeked at the ceiling clock and saw 2:35. Yay! That meant our batteries were still charged and I happily went back to sleep. We didn't watch tv last night, instead delving into our books. It was 9:15 when I went up to bed with Gibbs not far on my heels.

| Good morning! Again, the brilliant sun lights the path. |
This morning, I saw the sun popping up over the mountains but wasn't about to hop out of bed to run for a picture. Call me lazy! I did get up at 7 and was out the door for my walk soon after. What a lovely morning! Again, it was a challenge walking directly into the sun so I veered off towards the highway.

These soldiers, probably 'born' in 1910,
wave hello as I go by.
The lower arms are likely 20 to 30 yrs old
and the nub at the top, maybe celebrating 5 to 10 yrs.
Incredible!
I'm not getting much more than a mile in but 1 1/2 miles is still better than nothing. By the time I returned, I was quite warm and I had not layered up today at all. It was 51F/10.55C. When Donna texted, she said it was 58F/14.4C at home for her walk. Mind you, it was 2 hours later. 🤷♀️They are still have really nice fall weather.

Pipeline Rd on the left and
my walking partner found me here too.
Bill was ready to go to the flying field this morning, after charging batteries yesterday. Gibbs and I stayed home and spent time indoors and outdoors. When I came in to put shorts on around 10, Gibbs decided to stay inside. There was no real shade for him to hide in.
I finished my book, metro Girl, and started a new one by J.E. It seems to be more of a love story, so far, called Foul Play, so I'm not sold on it yet. I like her goofy mysteries. We'll see where it goes from the 3rd chapter before I decide. My hair was feeling in need of a wash but for today, I just wet it.

Gibbs curled up in his bed
in the sun first thing.
He didn't stay here long.
Bill was home at 11, and started on charging the same batteries. He was happy that he got 2 flights in at the field, it is so calm these days. We had lunch, another meat, cheese, celery, lettuce, pepper salad with Ranch dressing for me. I will get tired of them but I'm enjoying them for now.

Looks like someone (the Grinch?)
is walking through a 'wave' of clouds.
At 12:45, I hopped in Black Beauty with the 3 books we'd finished, my water bottle and my container of pennies. Pokeno, here I come! There were 5 of us ladies playing today, 2 new ladies (hosts at Park Place), BJ, Sue and myself. I didn't do well, leaving a nice donation.........mostly to Sue, miss Lucky Pants. 🤣 Where was Bill when I needed him?

A double-dipped photo.
The sun's rays just before disappearing
and on the far right.......boy, did I
capture the hummingbird at the right time!
Looks like a wee angel. 💖
At 3, I was back home and happy to see Bill had put up our canopy. It wouldn't fit under the smaller awning like we'd hoped but sitting where it is should give us, and Gibbs even more shade when it heats up. It will also help keep the Suite cooler too.
Once my table is set up out there, we each will have another option for our hobbies. I made a tea at 3:30 and we met our neighbours to the northeast. A nice younger couple, with a few things in common. Gibbs was a hit, of course, but sure let us know that 40 minutes was long enough of a visit. "Let's go home!"
I put together the fixings for meatloaf and Bill washed and cut up the strawberries he'd picked up at Walmart. It will be something for dessert tonight. While supper was cooking, I started my blog as I watched the sun prepare to say goodnight.

A little more shade now
with our canopy up and staked down.
We reached a high today of 75F/23.8C and only dropping to 55F/12.7C overnight. A windows open night. This morning, for about 30 minutes, I sat at the desk to plan out my next Christmas card. It was too nice outside though to be in doing crafts, so Gibbs and I vacated. 💕
Supper was great, we haven't had meatloaf for a while. It was delicious! Bill had salad and I had broccoli which alone was yummy. Very fresh, probably grown right in Yuma. We took care of the dishes and because of the election coverage, no NCIS episodes are on tonight. Drat! Oh well, more reading. 😉 (update: I'm not reading Foul Play)
I'm going to run out of books, I can see that coming. It was a great day. I had fun with the ladies and look forward to Monday's pool game. I hope you've had a good day. Again, back home was untraditionally warm for November. I hope they all pocket some for what is ahead.

Room for a memory picture.
