Windy in the Sunshine

 On Monday, Mar. 31st I woke up a few times in the wee hours, not sure why. I was in bed last night by 9:15 so I was probably slept out. I still didn't get out of bed until 6:45 though and came down to join Bill. He'd already had his cereal and was washed and ready for the day. He wanted to get into El Reno to the Ford dealers early, in the hopes they could do a read on why our engine light came on.

Good morning!

When we left Walmart yesterday, there it was, ever ominous. Bill is not a mechanic and while he can detect and figure out many things, some things are better left to a professional. He left shortly after 7:00. I looked out the back window to the east and saw a beautiful red sun rising up over the horizon. Well, a transport was today's horizon but the sun was still glorious. 😊 After I ate my cereal, I saw the 2 strays were back around the area. They look friendly enough but to be safe, I waited until they wandered back across the field.

Spring is here

Gibbs and I then went out for a walk. It is a cold morning, only 45F/7C made worse by the wind gusts from NNE at 17 to 20 mph. Not terrible but still cold. Thank heavens for the sun, which was battling with newly formed clouds overhead. I had my tea and played my Wordle games. I needed to stop watching the strays as it breaks my heart that they don't seem to have anyone to love them. Gibbs kept watch and would growl when they got too close to his home, at one point barking until they ran off.

I trimmed his facial hair today so those
eyes pop and his beard is shorter.

Bill called a couple of times updating me on the truck progress, which turned out to be good news. We were expecting the worse but trying to be positive regardless. The diagnostic check showed that the air filter was partially clogged with dust and the perimeters were off, thus causing Black Beauty to seem to drag where she usually has real power. If you've ridden in her with Bill, you would know how she performs. Anyway, a new filter, an oil change (it was due) and Bill was home by noon. 💖

Supper was tasty

Nothing is inexpensive but this was less than we thought so are feeling pretty good about it all. We will be leaving in the morning to our next destination. The afternoon was spent watching movies and dozing and for supper, Rosy air fried sausages. I fried the last of the potatoes for Bill and cooked a large portion of cauliflower for me and finished the meal off with some freshly cut strawberries and cream. Yum!

The Voice was on so we caught up with the next episode until 8 when the NCIS programs began. Being only an hour from our home, it is easier to catch our programs after our evening meal. This was a quiet day and we received good news about BB's trouble. It wasn't warm because of the winds but we did reach 62F/17C with plenty of sun. How was your day?

And we are also at the end of March.
Time is flying by.

The Winds Continue on This Warm March Day

Park Place RV Park

On Sunday, Mar. 3^rd, I got up before 7. Laundry day! So far this winter, getting over to the laundry room before 7:30 has paid off. Today was no different as Bill and I walked over at 7 and all 3 washers were free. We used two and walked back. When I went back 5 minutes before the time was up, there was a resident loading the 3^rd machine. It’s okay if I don’t bump into her again! Not the sweetest on the block.

Bill didn’t go flying so walked back with me when they were dry and helped me fold and carry the clothes home. 😊 

When we walked out after loading the machines,

I had time to eat half a pink
grapefruit in between laundry breaks

I took over 4 tops and a pair of pants for the FREE table, things, for one reason or another, that I no longer wanted. I may add more before the month is out but for now, that’s a bit of a start. Then, with our laundry put away, I went back over to start a puzzle. For 2 hours I worked away on the 1,250-pieces.

I left to return home at noon, and the hosts were checking in a Class A rig. When I said hello to them, the lady said “Patsy?” Oh my! That is still the strangest, but coolest, feeling. She follows my blog!! We shook hands and will hopefully get together before they depart. It is always interesting to know where new acquaintances are following us from.

I was happy with how far I got
even after taking a break to play pool. 

Bill was back from Jim’s after working on the landing gear on his Cub (plane). Making good progress, he said. 😊 We had French bread with cheese and a slice of banana bread for lunch. Fresh and tasty! While my boys dozed, I went back over to the puzzle. After making good progress myself for an hour and a half, I asked D if she wanted to play a game or two of pool with me. The office was quiet, which can be nice and not so nice as it calls for a boring day.

We had 2 games and although she ‘snookered’ me in the first game of eight-ball and although she won the second one, we were both shooting for the last ball. I felt good, picking up a few more lessons from her and G. We’ll have to do that again before I leave the park. I worked on the puzzle until 4 and Bill had also just returned home.

I could hear the coo cooing of a mourning dove or two.

Gibbs had a quiet afternoon on his own so I took him for his walk before I made myself a cup of tea. The winds have not abated at all today so the gazebos are still popped down. Looks like by 6 pm, they will be letting up and minimal by early morning. For supper, we only had 1 burger left so Bill grilled it with 2 wieners for me. We had burger buns to eat up so I used those for my dogs. 😊 We did reach a high today of 69F/21C so no complaints here.

Friday, Nov. 11^th is Remembrance Day for us Canadians. Veteran’s Day for our American friends. Celebrate it properly. Take time to be thankful and remember those who served in one way or another. ♥

Bill and Gibbs were up at 6:30 and then I left them in bed while I got up half hour later. It was no surprise to hear that the winds were back. Around 5:30 a gust of 30 mph rocked the Suite although we were sleeping so didn’t notice. 😊 We had our coffee and tea and I took Gibbs and Gibbs took me for our walk. The sun was beautiful but I needed a jacket over my sleeveless top, against the gusting winds.

Bill was up having his cereal when we returned so I joined him. Today is moving day but not until around 2:30 so we weren’t rushing at all. We read our books and Bill went out to put things away. I latched the bedroom closet, cleaned the toilet and bathroom sink, got washed and dressed for the day. Already, at noon, it is 66F/19C with a great day coming our way. We had a bite to eat for lunch, neither one of was overly hungry.

While in the desert, we were officially
on California time, 3 hours from home time
even though Bill and I never paid attention to that
but now, officially, we're back
to the AZ time zone and 2 hours behind

Things are very dusty inside but other than the occasional wiping with my dust mitt, no huge effort has been put into it while we sit here. The floors get a dust mop every few days too but just a quick one. Now that we'll be plugged in for almost two weeks, it will get a good going through until our next dusty desert adventure. LOL We’ve learned to live with the dust and small stones just like most other rv’ers have. Having a spotless home out here is not a priority.

The never-ending Yuma farming

It was 2:30 AZ time when we pulled out and we were set up at Yuma Lakes RV Resort by 3:30. The site suggested was one section that we’d not been in before and it was a wider site with no one behind us. I like that. Facing the east will be better for Gibbs and Bill and I will be at the pool when I want to sit in the sun. Bill got the outside things set up and I dusted the wood cabinet tops before setting things out.

Which brought us to the park road

We’re here for 12 nights and we will enjoy the power and water a lot! I feel relieved. 😊 The satellite dish was set up and we got the best signal that we were able to. Inside I made a cup of tea after things were ‘unpacked’ and Bill finished with the barbecue, mat and chairs. I have taken the last container of my chili out of the freezer and that will be an easy supper. There is a chicken meal at the clubhouse tonight but chili sounds better.

Clouds have moved in, dropping today’s high temperature of 73F/23C by a few degrees by the time we were ready to eat. The good news is that the winds are almost non-existent here. 

We have a nice wide site

and a tree line behind us 💓

After heating the chili, Bill made some toast and we enjoyed our quiet dinner here at home. The sun was setting out our small back window so before it dropped, I walked out and took a picture or two. We’ll miss the rising unless I’m out so this will be nice.

We loaded the dishwasher (yay for hookups and water!) and I had my shower first. Tomorrow is an early day so getting the showers out of the way tonight made sense. Oh, do I love that water pressure! 😊 An easy moving day is behind us and we’re looking forward to what the rest of the week brings.

The Winds Wreak Havoc, Wonderful Friday News!

The Ridge

On Saturday, June 18^th (already!) Bill and Gibbs were up at their normal time, 6:15. Bill had his shower and got ready for the day. He’d hoped to leave for the Saugeen Flying field around 8. Today is the club’s Fun Fly and I had planned to join Bill with Gibbs around 11:30. They were providing lunch, for a fee, and it is to be an all-day event.

Last night I said in my blog that there would be no sunset
Then after I posted, I looked out and saw this glow

Lo and behold, the sun managed to make
a late appearance before saying goodnight

With all this cloud around, who thought
that would happen? 💗

With the winds the way they have been, we were disappointed that they remained with us all night and into today. ☹ Bummer! Bill wasn’t sure how long the event would last today and how successful (attended) it would be so he left shortly after 8 to help with set up. Gibbs and I bundled up and went for our walk after I finished my tea. The winds made the 8C/46F feel much colder so I’d got my down-filled coat out again. Geesh! I thought I was done with that one for the season.

Luckily, it sits on the mower side, not the bike side

It was still very refreshing and I’m glad we went. The sky was clear. When I got back, I sat with Gibbs in ‘our’ chair and played my online games and read a few chapters of my book. It is a different type of story but quite interesting, so far. Then it was time to get to work so I layered up in a couple of jackets and went out to cut more grass. My mower is making a horrible noise upon start up and I’m thinking it has something to do with the rock I sliced in half the other day. Woops!

Bill will have to look at it. I finished cutting what needed to be cut and then cleaned the underbelly and put it away. Gibbs had been out while I cut, on tether, and at noon we came in for lunch. Bill had informed me he was staying and having lunch at the field. That was good, meaning the day was going pretty well for him and if he’s happy, I am happy. Happy spouse, happy house. ♥

I made a quesadilla with cheese, bacon, pepperoni, onion and red pepper. After it was fried, avocado and sour cream topped it off nicely. 😊 It was delicious!

Early this morning, I pulled the trays out of the dishwasher and washed the little basin in the bottom. What a lot of crap had accumulated in there! Yeuch! I’ll keep a better eye on it so we don’t have a problem in the future.

Donna and Gerry had had enough of the cold winds at the Acreage and after securing one of the gazebo canopies, packed up. They stopped in here to get Donna’s gift. It’s a strong metal finch feeder. She doesn’t have one for at their house and it was a good deal at the sale yesterday. I might have to pick up the other one tomorrow, if it is still there.

I saw a mama duck go down into the pond
with her 5 or 6 or 7 babies
but couldn't see them anywhere

When they left, I put Gibbs inside and I went out to cut the grass up on the berm. It’s so rough up there but I managed to ‘get ‘er done’. Then I worked on the puzzle, not having a lot of success but I’ll get there. Bill drove in around 3:30 or so and reported having a good day. So, the winds didn’t upset that apple cart too badly after all. 😊 He hopped on the mower and finished cutting his grass too so tomorrow should be an easy day for Father’s Day. ♥

Inside, I made my tea and we had a treat together of Nutter Butters before supper. Even Gibbs gets a cookie when we do. He has been a good little guy and has had lots of runs around the property. Speaking of supper, we had fish and chips and the evening went by as per usual.

Now! I mentioned in my title about wonderful news. Yesterday, Bill got the email from our trailer insurance ‘people’. We are being reimbursed for everything we asked for in regards to the power surge on April 7^th. They have taken forever in responding to us AFTER we sent them the list. He kept getting emails saying ‘we are looking into this matter and blah blah blah’. Now, finally we have a positive response and just need to wait for the cheque – that is in the mail. ♥♥♥

This was a great day even though the wind and colder air has tried to spoil it. The sun is beautiful and warm if you can only find a sheltered spot. I hope you are enjoying your weekend. Happy Father’s Day tomorrow to all you Dads and your Dads. Also, to our own Dad’s up in heaven. 💖💖 A follow up on my sister-in-law: Crystal had a great recovery and is coming home today! 😊
