A Short Wrap Up of our Day

On Thursday, Mar. 3^rd we didn’t get up until 7:45! Gibbs and Bill had already been out once but I was lucky to just be lazy this morning. Gibbs and I went for our walk and although late, I still wondered if the Quartzsite trucker’s convoy had much of a turnout. We walked around the mid-block and when a man in front of us walking his big dog was a huge distraction for Gibbs (pulling like a sled dog), I turned around and came back the same way. 😊

Bill was eating breakfast and had decided not to go flying today. He’d had his shower and opted to look after other things instead. I had my cereal and tea, played my Wordle games and then finished adding pictures to my blog. 

Gibbs and I heard a whimper when we were 
walking by so we stopped to say hi to 'Texas'
(we don't know his name but his owner is from Texas)

The wifi connection last night was ridiculously slow and it was frustrating me enough to give it up until morning. I guess it is something we should be used to, it is Quartzsite after all. Maybe my blogs will be a morning post from now on.

Today's words of wisdom

Bill cleaned the inside of Black Beauty, vacuuming and looking after the leather inside. I sat with Gibbs for most of the day, reading. I wasn’t in the mood for doing a puzzle today. I’d turned the a/c on first thing and was grateful for the comfort in the Suite. We had grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch on the whole wheat bread that I bought by mistake. Hmmm, I won’t make that error again. I don’t like it.

For supper, I talked Bill into going out for supper so we cleaned up to go into town at 5:30. Bill fed Gibbs earlier than his usual time and we drove to Times 3 Family Restaurant. Bill ordered hot roast beef with fries and gravy and I ordered the reuben with split pea soup. They were good but not the best meals we’ve eaten. So much beef and corned beef but there was something missing. Even though the price was right, we should have gone to Silly Al’s. ☹

I brought half my sandwich home and will eat the corned beef at least. Back home, Gibbs went out for his piddle and then played on the floor, chewing on his ‘long western moustache’. We need to do something about that as it is just too long.

This was a good day and our temperature reached 89F/32C before it started cooling off. We turned the a/c off and it should still be nice for sleeping tonight. The clouds tonight were very pretty but we knew it was the foreplay for cooler weather.

A Short Wrap Up of a Full Day

La Posa South, Quartzsite, AZ On Friday, Jan. 14th Gibbs and I had the pleasure of having company on our morning walk. Nancy and Cooper were out for theirs and the ‘boys’ just wanted to carry on together. 😊 What a beautiful sunrise this morning and Nancy said it was even better at 6 o'clock!

To the northwest, the pink mountains reflected the brilliance. Bill and I had our morning drinks and we heard back from our friend in London, ON about a purchase she wanted us to make on her behalf.

a lot of dead trees out here Monica had asked us to find a large geode and bring it home for her. She has been on the scout for a very long time. This year, we vowed to make it happen. So, after sending her a picture of a suitable one we found in town, we got the go ahead. This morning, at 9:30, Nancy, Bill and I drove back to check out the competition to make sure we were getting her the best rock for her money. They are sure beautiful!

There were many to compare to the one we'd found and think we got her a good deal. It is tucked safely away for the journey home at the end of April and from the excitement we could hear in her voice, we’ve helped make a young lady very happy. ♥ Nancy had a purchase she wanted to make too so after doing that, we returned home. Bill had some projects to take care of and then we relaxed for the day. At noon, I baked some Pillsbury cinnamon buns so invited Nancy over to help eat them. Not that she enjoys sweets or anything. 😊

I enjoyed some of the grapefruit that Nancy gave me. ♥ Yum, it's so fresh! Plans were made with Deb, Tom and Nancy to go into town to Gringos for supper. Usually on Friday night, there is entertainment so we left the puppies at home and Bill drove us all in at 5. There was no music and although I was disappointed in my cheese quesadilla (my own fault, I didn’t know to order chicken in it!), we got out for a meal together at a decent price. We were back home by 6:30. I got my blog written, pictures loaded and the evening went by with our books.

Good thing this secretary isn't writing my blogs or they'd never get done. He'd fall asleep on the job!

I had my hopes up for a great meal tonight with some background music.

It didn't turn out quite as I'd planned but I'll give it another try. Oh! Today on our morning walk, I came across a painted rock. Something I haven’t found in a long time so I brought it home and joined the YumaRock group on FB to post that I found it. I’m sure a young person painted it and will get a kick out of seeing it. It isn’t one I wish to keep so will rehide it either here or in town. I should get some of mine out to place before we leave the desert.
