Wednesday, May 31st came
and went in a flurry. The fact that I tired myself out two days in a row is my
explanation for two posts in one. I was in bed by 10:30 Tuesday night but when
7 o’clock rolled around and then 7:30 I still didn’t feel I was ready to get
up. That is what a good day of ‘work’ does to me when I’m not used to it.
Bill was still snuggled under the
covers at 8:30 am when I kissed him goodbye and left for Durham. I wanted to
get to Tim Horton’s before arriving at Rob and Pat’s. An inside joke but it was
also Camp Day and buying a couple of coffees supported a good cause. I arrived
before 9 with drinks and muffins in hand, buttering up the boss.
Cloudy start up today as I head into town |
I know Bill wanted to replace the
part on his riding mower to stop the oil leak and he wouldn’t be needing my
help. I didn’t feel it was necessary to stick around. I had a good day again
with our friends. I wish I could do more for them, I can see clearing this
house out is taking its toll on Pat. Shortly after noon Bill arrived to help
and we made great strides today.
The two men worked in the garage and
storage areas while Pat and I emptied more cupboards and closets. So much stuff
and so little place to put it in. We had a nice lunch after Bill came and
worked steady until 3 o’clock. We were all winding down so it was a good time
to call it a day.
Not surprisingly we both came home,
hit the soft contours of a recliner and a sofa and dozed. I hope Rob and Pat
did the same thing. I had hamburger out for supper without any clue what to make
with it. The nice thing about hamburger, I can always come up with something
edible in a pinch.
As I was preparing supper, this beautiful horse trotted down the road |
I made a casserole. Not fancy, I just
added onions, mushrooms, beans and tomato soup to the cooked meat and topped it
off with a biscuit topping before baking it in the convection oven. Tasty and
hit the spot.
That’s it, it was an early night for
me and Bill wasn’t too far behind. We were heading into London Thursday morning
by 8:30. The weather today was pretty good, although cooler than Tuesday. I
think it only got to 17C and not full sun.
I hope your day was a good one.
Thanks for reading, sorry for the lack of pictures today.
Why are you going to London? That's a long way for a drive....right Bill?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a nice day again today so have a good drive.
Bill has his physical for the drivers test advancement. We'll see his parents too on the way home.
DeleteIs that for the A restricted license?
DeleteYes.
DeleteSounds like another productive day, cleaning out an estate is endless work, We have done 2 parents places in the last few years and seems like it will never end. I wish them luck and so nice that you can be around to give them a hand. Enjoy the drive to London and visit today.
ReplyDeleteThey have accomplished a lot, it is a huge tiring job.
DeleteLove the pictures you do have..When I was in Canada a few years ago, loved Tim Hortons coffee and muffins..could be a really bad habit! Yum..Hopefully you can recoup today on the drive!
ReplyDeleteThankyou. I'm not much for their strong coffee or donuts but enjoy steeped tea with cream, carrot cake muffins (Oh my!) And their breakfast wraps.
