Alone Again, Lawn Care and Sunshine Returns

Tuesday, Aug. 8th I woke up to that glorious sunshine again bursting around the window edges. It was 6:45 when I popped the shades open to warm the Suite up.

these pictures were taken last night to the EAST

Amazingly stunning!
Sitting at 13C so early was warmer than I’d expected, thinking 10 or 11 was the forecast temperature on the news last night. We’ll take it and were pleased to see it rise very quickly to 16 and beyond.

Bill and I had our coffee and tea while reading yesterday’s news on blogs. There was a light low fog hovering over the pond and surrounding areas when I went outside. The pictures don’t seem to capture it but it was there and heavy dew lie on the grass. We both wanted to cut the grass today but had to wait until it dried up a bit.

We took a drive to Harriston and popped in at McPhail's RV Centre. This was a fact finding visit mainly after all he is going through over this stupid license thing. Curiosity kills the cat. Bill also wanted to stop into Leslie Ford with a mechanical question about his truck.

On the way home I stopped in to the West Grey Butcher Shop and picked up some hamburgers, marrow bones and a couple of smoked pork chops.

When we got home we had a bite to eat, Bill made a sandwich and I fried up an egg with some chicken hearts. It hit the spot as we hadn’t eaten yet and were both hungry. Bill went out to start cutting the front field and I pulled my mower out to cut the flat area up here by the Suite. It wasn’t too long and my mower battery died so I had to call it quits and plug it in. That means I’ll finish my area tomorrow along with the weed whacking.
Pretty good prices at the butchers and really great service
Bill kept at it and within 3 hours had finished his cutting, putting me to shame. Ha ha, not really. I had a chair in the shade and a cold glass of Coke waiting for him when he finished putting the mower in the shed. Of course, Clemson had to jump up on his lap as soon as he sank into the chair.

Not much to write about today but I read a lot and managed to close the last chapter of my book. That was a two-day read and quite captivating from beginning to end. I came inside, I must admit that I’m looking forward to the southwest with no bugs, when I got tired of swatting the little beggars away from my face.

Bill loves cutting the grass!
For supper, I went simple but good. I boiled up a couple of cobs of corn and prepared a chicken salad with some leftover wedding chicken. It went down pretty good and there is room for one last piece of pie each later tonight. When dishes were done I caught up on my post and then took a walk down the lane once more. It is a lovely evening.

Question of the day:
What the heck is this?
We've seen them along many different roads, sporadically
and it isn't any clearer today than a year ago

I hope you have had a great day. Thank you for stopping around to read today.

    1. We had a great day, aren't those clouds amazing?
funny thing about Bill on the mower..........I didn't even notice that he did that when I took the picture! (you know how there is a glare in cell phones and you can't always tell?) I was so giddily surprised when I saw it and his performance.

    2. One of the main reasons I am looking forward to a camera that has a view finder and I can see what I am taking. I do not know how many times Tom will say, did you get the picture, and I have answered who knows it will be surprise when I can see it. Though that picture of Bill was great.

  4. Ken's thinking the one picture looks like either a bird feeder or nesting place..but the plates in the middle are to keep squirrels and other rodents from getting to the food/nest. Just a thought. Love the thunderheads and so jealous of the green grass..absolutely beautiful!!
