Cook an Egg on the Pavement Hot

Yuma Lakes RV Resort

It was almost 7 on Monday, Mar. 24th when I woke up to find the bed empty beside me. Gibbs was at my feet and had already been out for his first bit of business. I joined Bill downstairs after the usual stretch routine and felt pretty fair. 😉 It was pretty good for sleeping last night, with many, almost all, windows open. Today would be another hot day, in the high 90's (that's mid 30'sC).

Good morning!
Gibbs and I were up on the berm
for this picture that looks to the east.

Those temperatures remind me of the year our fridge went kaput in here. It was April 8th and the heat hit us hard. Today, we are in a much better position. Bill opted out of playing the morning games over by the pool but I decided to take part in the Snake Toss game. I'm not very good at it, but really, no one is consistent! I won 4 out of 6 games, so not bad at all. Boy, we were all very hot when the game ended around 10:30. It was already approaching 80F/27C.

While we were playing Snake Toss,
this worker very slowly cut the grass
on the hill.

Bill called Elite RV Wash before I left to make an appointment for the Suite. She is soooo dirty. They are coming on Wednesday so that will be nice, we've been talking about it all winter.

These are the balls for Snake Toss
in case you didn't know what game I
was referring to.
Now you know.

Once I cooled down from the games, we took Black Beauty (another dirty vehicle) back in to Yuma. We made a stop at Target's All Points atm and then Bill dropped me at Yuma Palms mall. I wanted to wander through a couple of my favourite stores and he wanted to pop into Harbor Freight and fuel up.

Yuma Palms Mall is pretty

I found something for Gibbs at Marshalls, it has been a while since he's had a new toy and he has recently just celebrated a birthday. 🐶 He loved it and within 4 hours, had a hole punctured in the blue dog's face. Typical Gibbs. I walked down to Ross' and found a summer hat and light sweater for $16. I wasn't really 'looking' for anything but I did know what I wanted. When I texted Bill that I was done, he had just arrived in the parking lot. Good timing!

I think you'll agree, she needs a bath.

We had sandwiches for lunch back home and then we all dozed until 2:30 or so. Gibbs is already moving his toy around with him so that $6 was worth it. I did get him outside without his toy into the 95F to piddle and poop. He didn't waste time getting back into the cool air inside. We both changed into swimsuits and walked to the pool. The water felt wonderful and we floated around on pool noodles for an hour, until my fingers turned wrinkly. 😊

Yup, a delicious mouthful!

We dried off very quickly and Bill walked back shortly after 4. I stayed and slipped back into the poolside when Sue and Bob, our neighbours down the row, joined me. It was after 5 when I meandered back myself and joined my boys. The a/c was having a hard time keeping up with the heat but it was still much nicer inside than out. We reached 98F/37C this afternoon so needless to say, there was not an afternoon walk for either Gibbs or I.

Meet Blue Dog

Bill grilled his famous bacon cheeseburgers for supper and we turned NCIS on at 6. The burgers were good and so was the entertainment. We've had a great day!

I stole these pictures from Kim's FB post.
She took them at our last Happy Hour and
our last goodbye this season.
Good night!

Thank you for your visit.

  5. Wow, that was a hot day for you. It's warm here in Florida too, but not that hot. Back home it's up and down with the temps and I hope it will be more settled when we get there.

  7. Messy burgers are the best. It's funny, but I can picture exactly where you were in the Palms.
I hope it cools off slightly for you. Getting into the 30's is too hot for me.

  8. Wow, were you ever hot. We call that game golf ball toss as many of the homemade ones use golf balls on those ropes. Harvey loves playing this at the reunion.

    God bless.
