Relaxing on a Hot Day

Yuma Lakes RV Resort

On Saturday, Mar. 22nd it was 6:15 when Gibbs woke us up. Well, I moved, then Bill moved and then Gibbs got excited enough to give Daddy his 'I need to get up' cuddle. It's a process and I think it is quite cute. ❤️ I came down with him to have breakfast. Last night around 8ish, I felt hungry enough for a small piece of apple cheesecake. Yum. This morning, I was ready to eat at 7.

Good morning!
A prickly pear cactus after a bloom

When my tea was finished, I felt good and took Gibbs for his walk. The morning was already beautiful and I didn't really need the light sweater I slipped on before leaving the Suite. When we returned, I took the layer off and went strolling through the west end of the park. We've parked at that end one, maybe two, times before but they've added some partition fences for extra large Premium sites. For long term stays, they would be lovely.

A walk to the other end of the park

These sites are huge and private.
These fences are an addition since our last
visit here in 2022.

It was a pleasant walk and with no park entertainment going on for us today, I meandered back home after slipping down to the lake once more. Bill and I just relaxed for the rest of the morning, discussing our route home, tossing around the dates (again) and watched the couple behind us preparing for an RV wash. We are still debating whether we will be giving the Suite her own bath. 😁

I've never really looked closely at
the inside of the palm tree trunk.
Interesting.

For lunch, we had toasted bacon, tomato and cheese sandwiches. Yum, they were good! I'm glad we picked up tomatoes on Thursday at the market. We also picked up a huge cauliflower and more strawberries. Who could beat the price of 2 for $5? I cut the strawberries up for a dessert over the next few days. After cleanup, I went up (down?) to the pool for a couple of hours. Ken and Kim came together and Ken cooled off as well.

Down by the pond
Peanuts anyone?

Instead of peanuts, I chose this
sandwich instead.
Good choice.

Before noon, we closed windows and pulled the outside blinds. We were expecting some hot and hotter weather in the coming days so since we weren't paying the electric bill here, we turned the a/c on to 75F/25C. It was quite welcome when I walked back at 3, already warm again. 😀 However, I didn't stay inside long and made a blended margarita for Happy Hour. When Ken and Kim joined us in the shade of their unit we all toasted to our last one this season. We've really enjoyed this week and look forward to more time together in the next.

Happy Hour and Gibbs sleeps.
Notice the leg up on his bed?
He stayed outside for half the time and went
inside to cool off.

Cheers!
Bill and Ken look a tad smug, no?
😁

Bill began grilling his sausage while I took Gibbs, or visa versa, for a walk. 💕 I reheated the last of the spaghetti and fried the last of the potatoes for supper. This will clean up those leftovers. It was a tasty meal even the 3rd time around and I got my pasta fill for the month.

Supper was still a success

We had a piece of cheesecake for dessert and watched episodes of The Voice while I worked on this post. It has been a wonderful day. Hot and sunny at 89F/32C. There was a nice comfortable breeze too.

Good night!

Thank you for the visit.

  1. Looks like a nice day to me. Those big lots ... NICE!! Here's my plan ... I'm writing down everything you have for dinner and I'm going to make it two days later. That way I don't have to think up something to cook!! LOL

  4. Really ....2022 was your last time at Yuma Lakes? Seems like just last year we went to see you. We turned on both AC's yesterday. Unfortunately our bill will show us the damage...lol.

  5. Now those lots are huge and would be perfect as you say for long term stays. Enjoy the time you have left.

    God bless.
